I am 19 year old male. I got an ankle injury in my leg and swelling is still there. Got it while playing football. What to do?

Hi ~use elastic bandages (such as an ace bandage) to wrap your ankle. ~wear a brace to support your ankle. ~use crutches for walking till swelling and pain subsides. ~keep your foot raised above your heart with pillows when resting or sleeping to reduce swelling. ~get plenty of rest and do not put weight on your ankle. Still you don't get relief than visit physiotherapist as physical examination /xray may be required for further investigation. Do reply for detailed treatment plan. Wishing you a good health.

Avoid avoid long standing and sitting toward bending lifting heavyweight, for chronic pain so tk physiotherapy treatment must and after this start stretching exercise of spine and legs in daily routine.

I have some problem about LAMBER spondylitis L5. It's naturally when I do any type movement or walk. It also happens when I go to bed or wake. It's basically major problem for me so I can't work properly. So please suggest some solution to overcome this problem. It's really painful for me. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME BETTER SOLUTION.

Hello- The root cause of Lumber spondylitis according to ayurveda are (you must avoid them)- ➲ Awaking wholenight ➲ Excessive exercise ➲ Controlling urine motion and toxins ➲ Improper combinations of food (eg. Chicken with fish) ➲ Trauma to the varmas ➲ Accident ➲ Lifting heavy weight Ayurveda provides some internal and external medications to be free of pain caused by Lumbar Spondylosis. A) Internal Medication: Dhanvanthram Kashayam, Vidhariyadhi Kashayam, Maharasnadhi Kashayam can be taken internally. The dosages are given in the outer label of the decoction container. Above stated decoctions are widely available in all ayurvedic shops and free of side effects. B) External Medication: Kottam chukkadhi thailam, Ksherabala, Dhanvanthram, Narayana thailam are the oils that can be applied on the pain area externally. You will get 40% of relief by using self appliances. There is no permanent cure via home remedies. Tips to follow: You should follow the proper sitting posture advised by the doctor as a post treatment activity. No heavy weight lifting should be done. Regular exercise has to be done. No long drives for the patient. The patient has to take short breaks from the work. No heavy twisting or bending. The person has to be stress free.

It may be due to wrong posture. First improve your posture. Avoid forward bending. Use hard bed to lie. Start hot saline fomentation followed by volini gel and back exercises. For detailed information about exercises please refer my health tips.

Muscular dystrophy has no available treatment at present. Ozone is not a modality of treatment for muscular dystroply. It is a genetic disease. Till date no treatment is available for cure. But people can live with the disease with some limitations.

Check your all movement if your movement is normal then no ligament injury for swelling take ice pack for 20 minutes.

It may be due to ingrowing toe nail, due to any injury or gout. Put your foot in lukewarm water with little salt in it for some time. Get the checkup of your blood uric acid level.

Requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Don't do any excercise for abdominal pain. Take rest for backach. Take hot fermentation. Posture care important. Avoid heavy lifting and forward bending.

* when our shoulders are forward, this also brings our chin forward, this posture encourages tightness in the chest and over stretching in the back resulting in a rounded back. * we can correct this with exercises. Following are some very effective posture correction exercises: 1> shoulder circles - lift your shoulders up, back, and down. Repeat 10 times. 2> shoulder blade squeeze - begin by bringing your shoulders back, then squeezing your shoulder blades together. Relax and return to the resting position. Repeat 10 times. 3> chin tuck - repeat 10 times. 4> arms lifting - repeat 10 times. 5> spine extension - repeat 10 times. Note: do not hold your breath while exercising.

1. Avoid protein rich diets like mutton egg, fish, mushrooms, sea foods, cauli flower, spinach 2. Take fruits like apple, banana, orange, lime etc 3. Drink plenty of water 4. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks 5. Monitor your serum uric acid 6.Take medicine after consulting physician

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.
