Hi lybrate-user here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift can give you some relief. -a physical therapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them. So please go to a nearby physiotherapist.

* if it is a cramping kind of pain, you may not be hydrating enough. Try hydrating before bed. Drink something with electrolytes in it. Keep a bottle of water by your bed. * pain could also be because of poor blood circulation because of lack of movements of legs all day - you should start walking or swimming a few times a week to improve circulation. * before you go to bed, and when you wake up stretch your legs. * raise your legs up and down every day. If you sit at work, stand up frequently, and touch your toes, roll your ankles around, walk on your heels, etc. * you are a big man at height (6'2"), make sure your chair accommodates you! * foot wear plays a very important role, they should be comfortable. Try out the above ones and you will definitely feel good! regards!

Pain after prolonged sitting occur due to posterior derangement syndrome, posture syndrome, loss of lumber lordosis, weakness of back extensors muscles, movement system impairment of lumber spine etc. Treatment is designed after assessment, you can meet any local physio or come to us. We all help you to get rid of pain. Till you can do back extensors strengthing exercises, try to sit straight, keep back support like cushion when you sit for long time, do not lean forward while working on computer, apply hot pad on your back.

I'm 22 years old male. From my childhood I can feel that my fingers are too flexible and weak than others. My thumb finger can bend backward easily more than 90 deg. All my finger joint are loose and bend easily backwards. My palm skin is so delicate and loose, vulnerable to get hurt easily. I can feel that my thumb finger bone joint is loose when compared to right so it bends easily. I haven't seen these with any other friends. Others skin become hard when the do physical work. But whatever I do, it remains soft and delicate. Often I feel pain in my finger joints due to this. I struggle to do hard works with my hands. It gets so weak and chance of breaking my fingers is high. Still now the condition is worst. Recently, I gone through the Internet about my problem. It was stated that its a genetic problem called joint hypermobility syndrome (JHS. Which is rare and has no specific treatment. It also called Ehlers Danlos syndrome (EDS) which is lack of collagen. Do I have that disorder and how can I get remedy. Please I need a description of my condition and what I need to do to gain physical strength to do day to day work. Its good if I get reply from physiotherapists.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. I would like to examine & investigate you in detail. Rule out Diabetes. Any way it may be tried, --.Calpol 250mg OD & SOS. X 5days. --.Caldikind plus (from Mankind)1 tab OD x 5 days. --. Fomentation with warm water. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. -- .Do mild exercises for back, (Take help of a physiotherapist). Kindly make sure, there is no allergy to any of these medicines. (Contact family doctor, if needed). For emergency treatment visit nearest hospital. Do not ignore, let it not become beginning of a major problem. Do ask for a detailed treatment plan. If no relief in 2-3 days, contact me again.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hello lybrate user, from the symptoms you are describing, the most probable diagnosis would be an infection. Tuberculosis is the most common infection in our country. Weight loss, fever along with it would support the diagnosis of an infection. I would suggest you to consult an orthopaedic surgeon as urgently as possible. It could probably be treated be medicines alone in the early stages. Later stages of destruction require might require surgery. There is no reason for panic but consult an orthopedic surgeon urgently and get x rays done and an mri of necessary.

dear it's medical condition that can be managed up to great extent with some safety precautions along with some medicine. but in cases where prohibited is not relived by 6 months. then no doubt rf ablation of definitely a option to treat it non surgical way.coccygectomy is not first choice. But all options depending on clinical status of patients

Due to calcium deficiency I have been prescribed Shelcal 250 twice a day. This also gives me relief from my heel pains. Somebody recommended Intacal - D. Will it be beneficial for me or should I take it after consulting a doctor?

While I was boarding a bus a person's elbow hit against my chest rib cage. Now I'm having pain at the affected area. I don't no whether it's fractured or not. But I'm having pain.

Kindly go for xray first if there is swelling on affected part. If there is not swelling then you can go for ice packs on it daily for 10 minutes and 4-5 times a day. Perform deep breathing exercise.

It usually takes 3 months for bones to unite.After that you must do physiotherapy to get normal joint mobility.When you join gym. yo should increase your stamina gradually.

Knee pain is a common complaint that affects people of all ages. Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, acl injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout and infections. From your symptoms it seems like your wife developing osteo arthritis (oa) of knee. Try some home remedies for pain relief: -activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting jogging aerobics, dancing playing sport -use hot or cold packs. By increasing blood flow, hot compresses can ease pain and stiffness. Cold compresses reduce swelling. You may want to experiment with heat versus cold packs to see what works best for you. -stay active, physical activity is one of the best ways to improve your quality of life. Exercise boosts your energy. It can also strengthen your muscles and bones, and help keep your joints flexible. Try resistance training to build stronger muscles. - quads strengthening exercises are helpful oa knee. She needs to reduce her weight as she is 90 kg. Consult a physiotherapist for detail assessment to find out the diagnosis and for pain management.
