CT angiogram reveals the areas where there is no proper blood supply to the heart. Any part of the body require nutrition and oxygen for its function. Nurtrition and oxygen to all parts of the body is supplied by the blood. As the heart is doing exercise that contraction and relaxation every second of day and night throughout your body, if it doesnot receive proper and sufficient amount of blood every second, heart stops functioning. You know what happens when heart stops functioning. CT angio is only indicative investigation. The correct investigation is angiogram. Then why they suggest CT angio is if the patient is unfit for procedures and its easy and cheaper comparatively. Changes in Echo and ECG has to be there as you say that her BP is uncontrolled. So go for regular checkups and follow up with the cardiologist will help in avoiding the complication of the high BP.

Diet rich in natural, fresh fruits on a daily basis will help increase the strength. Recent research indicates consuming edible Coconut Oil daily ( about 25 to 50 ml) helps in recovery from all kinds of Nerve, brain, function. Pomegranate daily (seed and skin also) has proves to aid in blood vessel health, reduction of wear-tear repair. Modern research indicate the following: Rock salt helps in body repair. Always maintain a healthy cholesterol ( 200 Mol) is essential for cellular and tissue repair . Low cholesterol leads to other diseases, so be careful not to let it drop below 180 M. Regular, simple exercise will keep the limb supple and stay positive. Listen to music, go for walks, be in company of happy people.

For general qwey iwan to know the normal Range of high blood pressure and the normal Range of low blood pressure?

For general qwey iwan to know the normal Range of high blood pressure and the normal
Range of low blood pressure?
Hello lybrate-user, the upper range of blood pressure is 140 / 90, anything above requires care either by cutting salt in diet, aerobic exercise and if required medicines. As such there is nothing as low blood pressure, it a misnomer with general population to attribute the symptoms of feeling low to low blood pressure. However one should maintain blood above 110 / 70 at your age and hence that can be considered as lower limit.

My daughter age 8 months old with congenital heart defect, recently echocardiogram report says ostium secundum atrial septal defect sizes of 0.8mm diameter, left to right shunt. No feeding problem. Is it necessary for open heart surgery to close the hole now at these age?

MD - Paediatrics
Pediatrician, Ranchi
Hello thanks for the query first of all I would like to know the exact size of atrial septal defect (asd. I think it should be 0.8 cm not 0.8 mm (as 0.8 mm asd will not cause any significant problem). The management depends on the following parameters 1) growth of the baby, 2) how frequent she is getting symptomatic 3) how severe are the symptoms 4) what is the exact hemodynamic finding in the echo (including pulmonary pressure) 8 mm asd considered to be large and chances of spontaneous closure is less. The weight and height you have mentioned is appropriate for age. Also I would like to know the margin of the defects. As on the basis of rims of the defect we can decide whether device closure can be done to avoid the open heart surgery. I request you to give detail history and to attach the echo report so that I better able to help you out. Regards.

Dear, To control & maintan BP normal these are best methods to follow:.• Do physical exercise like jogging, running or brisk walk for atleast 20-30 minutes. Start any exercise such as jogging from 5 to 10 minutes, increase the time slowly day by day. • Maintain your cholesterol level to normal & eat least amount of butter, cream or fatty things. • Eat less amount of pickle, salt and fast food as they contain high sodium levels. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of caffine containing coffee, tea or cold drinks because caffine causes increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams (Anulom- Vilom, Bhramari) daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. • Take 5 ml of GULAB Jal added in a glass of water daily once a day.
