Hi lybrate-user Please resume yoga. Dieting not advisable when your are feeding the baby. Have a healthy meal, with lots of fruits and vegetables. For increasing breast milk have pleanty of liquids, plus oats, garlic, methi. Do not worry about breast milk production. When the baby suckles, milk production happens. There is no food to control hormones. But PCOD can be controlled with exercise and healthy eating habits. Also post pregnancy hormonal changes can cause hair growth changes. So, as of now, relax, enjoy motherhood. Eat health. Start yoga. Wait for a few months. You'll be fine.

6 Types of Anti-Aging Treatments and Their Benefits!

MD - Skin,VD & Lepxsy, MBBS

6 Types of Anti-Aging Treatments and Their Benefits!

All of us have the innate desire to age gracefully. We want to think like a 40 but look like a 20. Nevertheless, with few treatments, you can undo the signs of aging to restore your youthful glow.

Types-

  1. Laser Treatment: This method uses laser beams to generate heat energy for stimulating growth of new collagen fibers. This leaves your skin supple and rejuvenated.

  2. Botox Injections: One can do away with wrinkles by the use of unadulterated Botulinum toxin A. When injected in a small amount, they block the nerves and prevent contraction of the muscles. Hence, the skin appears less wrinkled and even smoother.

  3. Chemical Peel: Here, the doctor coats the affected areas of the skin with acid, thus causing microscopic exfoliation & new collagen formation and eliminating lines, creases and age spots.

  4. Dermabrasion: The procedure requires sanding the epidermis (upper skin layer) with the help of a rotating brush done with Aluminium Oxide Crystals. A new skin layer eventually replaces the old one that gets removed in the process.

  5. Face-lift: The method involves eliminating the excess skin and fat from the neck and the lower face, thus helping to tighten up the connective tissue and the underlying muscle.

  6. Soft Tissue Fillers: Soft tissue fillers including hyaluronic acid, collagen and fat can be injected into the creases on the face. This helps to plump and level out the furrows.

Benefits-

Anti-ageing treatments address and treat the following skin issues associated with age:

  1. Loss of one’s skin firmness

  2. Reduced elasticity of the skin

  3. Increased skin dryness

  4. Pigmentation disorders, such as uneven pigmentation or age spots

  5. Loss of skin radiance

  6. Wrinkle formation

  7. Increased vulnerability to rashes and bruises

  8. Greater translucency resulting in visibility of the veins

  9. Increased redness due to enlarged blood vessels

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Cell Phone in Pocket - Did You Know It Can Reduce Male Fertility?

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine & Surgery (BAMS)

Cell Phone in Pocket - Did You Know It Can Reduce Male Fertility?

Can you imagine your life without your cell phone? Difficult isn’t it, but did you know that these devices could be harming your sexual health? Most people keep their cell phones in their jeans or trouser pockets or clipped to a belt on their waist. While this does make the phone easily accessible, it also affects male fertility.

There are two main aspects to male fertility; the motility and viability of sperm cells. Motility refers to the sperm cell’s ability to swim through body fluids and fertilise the egg. Viability refers to the number of living vs non-living sperm cells and sperm cell abnormalities.

Cell phones are constantly working even when we’re not talking into them. They constantly send out and receive electromagnetic frequency radiation to keep your social media accounts updated. Given the close proximity of the cell phone and your body, this energy may be absorbed by your genitals. As a result, the sperm cells may change shape and lose their ability to attach themselves to an egg. The structural abnormality may impede the sperm’s ability to swim and thus reduce motility. Semen exposed to this type of radiation also has a high level of free radicals.

In order to produce sperm, the testicles maintain a specific temperature that is ideal for sperm health. Smartphones typically also have a higher temperature than that of the room you are in. Thus, when you keep your cell phone in your pant pockets, they increase your skin temperature in the groin by approximately 2 degrees as well as the temperature within your testicles. This slows down the production of sperm cells and can even kill them thus, reducing sperm cell viability.

In the ideal world, a cell phone should only be carried in a bag, but almost all men may cringe at the thought of carrying a bag. Hence, take your phone out of your pocket whenever possible, for example while driving, at a restaurant etc. The use of Ayurvedic aphrodisiacs can also lower the harmful effects of cell phones. The dried roots of asparagus or safed musli can help increase sperm count and rejuvenate a man’s libido. Ashwagandha, shilajit and kawach are also very effective Ayurvedic herbs to treat male infertility. Increasing your intake of food rich in vitamin C and E can also help deal with the stress in sperm caused by phone radiation. The use of these herbs has negligible side effects and hence can be safely used by men of all ages. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Sexologist.

Walking or Jogging - What Is Best For You?

MD - Consultant Physician
General Physician, Jharsuguda
Walking or Jogging - What Is Best For You?

Walking is a low intense cardio exercise that is suitable for all age groups. For people with bone problems and back pain, walking is the perfect exercise. It is less stressful on the body and has similar benefits to running or jogging. So if you are looking for reasons to jump on the bandwagon of walking as an exercise, here are a few:

1.Good for the Heart
Running puts some amount of stress on your heart muscles but does not seem to reduce the chances of premature death; whereas walking at a brisk pace puts less stress on the heart and considerably reduces the risk of premature death. Running may also cause inflammation in the muscles of the heart and increases free radicals in the body.

2.Increases immunity
Walking has a beneficial effect on the immune system of the body vis-à-vis running. Running may induce conditions in the body which allow various bacterial infections like cold to foster. You end up falling sick more often if you run.

3.Helps in weight loss
Walking is a steady state exercise resulting in moderate levels of heart rate. Moderate heart rate sustained for 45-60 minutes is advised to lose fat. Running tends to raise the heart rate to drastic levels which cannot be sustained for long, thus leading to reduced fat loss.

4.Stress on the joints
Running is a vigorous activity that places a lot of stress on the knee joints and the lower back. If you have conditions such as osteoarthritis and lower back pain, then running is a strict no for you. It is recommended to walk at a brisk pace for an hour every day for maximum benefits.

5.Walking can be done anywhere
You can take a walk inside your office premises or even walk back to your home after work due to the light nature of the exercise. Running or jogging may require proper gear and may not be suitable for all places.

Benefits of Papaya!

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

Benefits of Papaya!

Is papaya one of your favorite fruit?

If yes , then I must say you have a good taste. Papaya has many vital nutrients and it is best to be served for breakfast.

Papaya tastes delicious and is healthy as well. This fruit is a package of minerals, calcium, potassium, fiber, flavonoids and carotenoids. It helps in improving cardiovascular health and guards you from colon cancer.

Yes, it is safe to eat papaya during pregnancy, as long as it is ripe.

A well ripened papaya is rich in vitamins C and E. It is also a good source of fiber and folic acid.

Papaya helps to prevent and control constipation and heartburn.

For these reasons, many experts recommend that pregnant women eat moderate amounts of ripe papaya.

Some women make a tonic by blending portions of ripe papaya with milk and honey. This mixture is considered a rich source of nutrients for pregnant and nursing mums.

The Risks of Eating Papaya in Pregnancy

Papaya is indeed good for health and wellness. This is true for normal conditions but pregnancy is an exception. Eating papaya can cause miscarriage or abortion hence it is not regarded as a good option for consuming in pregnancy.

Mango, pineapple, jack fruit and bananas are also avoided by some,

yet they too have excellent nutritional value and no known negative pregnancy-related consequences.

Choosing the right foods, eating a balanced diet, and gaining a moderate amount of weight are all factors that can help your pregnancy go as smoothly as possible.

If you’re still unsure about whether to eat papaya, talk to your Doctor.
