I am 57 years old, 85 kg and 5'6. I can't stand on left toe and can stand only for few seconds on left foot. My achilles tendon feels weak. Left foot is by birth, physically thinner but I do not remember any accident or injury. Any solution to strengthen left leg, improve balance on left leg and remove limp.

Herniated discs or bone spurs in the vertebrae of the neck may become the reason behind severe neck pain. They sometimes take too much space and compress the nerves branching out from the spinal cord.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

It may be due to wrong sitting posture. Correct your posture whether you are sitting or travelling in a vehicle (2 wheeler). Also do hip rotation in the morning. Oil massage and fomentation will also help.

It must be investigated. Get a MRI of the knee. You would probably need arthroscopic knee surgery. It is a very safe procedure in our hands with uniformly good results. We have very good well equipped center in DELHI. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don?t ignore it lest it become beginning of a bigger problem Why not discuss with me in a video conference?

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

6 days ago I admit hospital due to my acl reconstruction in left knee so my qn is how to cure and how many days I walk.

6 days ago I admit hospital due to my acl reconstruction in left knee so my qn is how to cure and how many days I walk.
Progressive physical therapy after acl surgery helps to strengthen the muscles around your knee and improve flexibility. A physiotherapist will teach you how to do exercises that you will perform either with continued supervision or at home. Within the first few weeks after surgery, you should strive to regain knee range of motion equal to that of your opposite knee. You'll also be given crutches to help you move around. You may need to use them for about two weeks, but you should only put as much weight on your injured leg as you feel comfortable with. After two to three weeks, you should be able to walk without crutches. Six weeks to six months after your knee operation, you should gradually be able to return to your normal level of activity. After six months, you may be able to return to playing sport.

If it is lasting for more than 6 months.Your arthritis naming has to be reevaluated. However the swelling in your knee has to be dealt with.If its long lasting. It indicates inflammation that may lead to damage at such a young age.Early diagnosis and aggressive management is the key.As time inflammation = damage.Prevent damage at any cost.If possible do consult me
