I am 35 years male and I have BP (6 years) and Diabetes (2.5 years). I am suffering from chest pain since 1 month but it is very mild. In starting I felt this mild pain continuously and then it automatically disappeared. Now I feel it when there is a hickup or belching. I visited Doctor (MD Medicine) he prescribed me Rabeprazole with Domperidone and clonazepam 0.5 mg with propranolol 20 mg BD. I got no relief then I visited heart specialist he told me that my Diastolic BP is high 100-110 and he changed my BP tablets. He done my ECG 2 times and both the times it was absolutely normal. My Lipid profile Hba1c are as follows: Serum Cholesterol: 187.5 Serum Triglycerides: 156.4 HDL Cholesterol: 47.2 LDL Cholesterol: 109.02 VLDL Cholesterol: 31.28 Hba1c: 6.2 Dr. Also prescribed me medicine to lower my LDL cholesterol as it must be 70 in my case. But I have no relief. I have hyperacidity problem for a long time and I think this is the only reason of this chest pain. Kindly help me plzzz.

Your cardiologist has advised you appropriately. Your history does not indicate any cardiac problem. You can continue taking the medicines advised by your doctor apart from maintaining healthy lifestyle. Most likely cause of your pain is musculoskeletal, or anxiety. You can check with a gastroenterologist to rule out hyperacidity. If you still want to rule out cardiac cause then you can get a TMT test done.

I am 24 male I quit smoking when I felt aches in mah chest when I breath in or out now just want to know what should I take to relief from aches and to repair my lungs normal.

M.B.B.S. , PG Diploma In Clinical Cardiology
Cardiologist, Delhi
Hi firstly as you were a smoker a ache in cardiac area can not be just neglecte by suggesting life styles modification. A smoker is 10 times more prone to cardiac disease then a normal person. So I would suggest you to do atleast few basic tests of cardiology like ECG. A ecg should be done at the earliest, and if its normal, you can ffolow the above mentioned advice.

My mother is cardiac patient, she is having chest pain spreading through throat to neck backside. Due to this not able walk even 10 feet's.

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Hi, as you mentioned about your mother condition, I would suggest you to take to her hospital get ECG done as soon as possible and show to a cardiologist .and follow his advice. No need to waste time.

2D Echo shows, Left Ventricle EF is 55% and I conclusion it is written as LV RWMA+ and Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction. Is it something serious?

DNB Cardiology, MD - General Medicine, MBBS
Cardiologist, Mumbai
Hello, lv remain present, means that one portion of the heart wall is not contracting adequately, which is suggestive of a possible block in one of your arteries which may have resulted in silent heart attack, though as the pumping of the heart is near normal it would have been an minor event. Based on the reports (however I would like to review ecg and complete echo report) furthur investigation for evaluation of your heart is strongly recommended.

Blood pressure is the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Each time your heart beats, it pumps blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is highest when your heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic pressure. When your heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is called diastolic pressure. Your blood pressure reading uses these two numbers. Usually the systolic number comes before or above the diastolic number. A reading of 119/79 or lower is normal blood pressure 140/90 or higher is high blood pressure Between 120 and 139 for the top number, or between 80 and 89 for the bottom number is called prehypertension. Prehypertension means you may end up with high blood pressure, unless you take steps to prevent it. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, but it can cause serious problems such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack and kidney failure. You can control high blood pressure through healthy lifestyle habits such as exercise and the DASH diet and taking medicines, so to answer your question, yes its normal and you don't have to consult a doctor. But yes do keep a regular Blood pressure record t monitor your control.

MBBS

Dear Lybrateuser, -In PSVT there is increase in heart rate due to the various defects in the electrical conduction mechanism of the heart -many patients do not require any active treatment, person with frequent attacks should consult a cardiologist, medication may be prescribed & if medication fails then a procedure called radiofrequency catheter ablation can be done to restore the normal heart rhythm.

My father got 3 heart attacks last 2 and half months ago. And now he cannot be operated because there is a blockage in his heart. I need some advices and cautions please.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Blockages in heart is a reason for heart attacks coming frequently, but it is not a reason to not get operated. Get in touch with a good doctor who will investigate for blockages and do operation. May be it looks like that you are scared of a heart operation and you are in denial that the doctor does not want to operate.

Hello sir I'm 21 years old And my weight 52 kg And my height 5.5 feet I have pain in my chest from 3 month.

M.B.B.S. , PG Diploma In Clinical Cardiology

Pin in chest at a age of 21 is highly unlikely to be of cardiac in origin. Most likely the cause of your chest pain is either muscular or acid peptic disorder or gastritis.
