Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. Also you have stated that there is thigh pain as well, can you please tell me whether this pain is a radiating pain from lower back region? also does he suffer from lower back problems also? my advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks if it is just thigh with off and on leg pain will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hi, are all the toes of feet are involved or only the big toe? get your blood tested for cbc, esr, hb%, s. Uric acid. Medication: take homoeopathic medicine - ledum pal. 30/ 3 times a day daily for 2 weeks. Let me know your condition after that.

For leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Dear lybrate user will you let us know, the status of genital region, mean sense of errection, flow of urine, any incontinency. Unless not ruled out no one can forcast you to marry or not. If your motor or sensory deficit is there, I don t think that you can consume any women. So before attempting any try on marriage think twice.

Hi. Backpain is a common problem. It is mainly due to bad posture and activities like bad reading position, bad chairs n bad bed etc. Stand n walk upright without stooping. Sit in a proper chair. Take 5-10 min breaks every 2 hrs. Sleep on a flat bed. Do exercise daily. While sleeping keep a rolled towel under your knees. Back pain gets relieved by lifestyle modifications. Do back strengthening exercises. Thank you.

Neck pain due to strain. So do stretching exercise and avoid movement. And hot fomentations. If it work then OK otherwise physiotherapy treatment. For weight a test of thyroid.

I was doing exercise ie. Pushup and fumble exercise at my house without any trainer wrongly 1 year ago. My right side body part is some downside .Mychest ,shoulder, upper part of shoulder and some part near neck is different from left side of my body. My right shoulder is more bigger than left shoulder. My body shape is distorted. My both chest are not in same shape left chest is up and right chest shape is some down side. By seeing this anyone not see difference but I feel from inside my one shoulder and right chest is some on downside and left chest is on up side and I am very depressed and sad from 1 year and not doing any single exercise because when I so any exercise then this shape of my body become more distorted than before. I am afraid of going to hospital also and gym also .please sir help me please.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Piriformis stretch 1. Lie on your back. 2. Cross your left leg over your right so that your left ankle rests on your right knee. 3. Use your hands to grab hold of your left knee and pull it gently toward the opposite shoulder. 4. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds. 5. Relax, and then repeat with the other leg. 6. Repeat this cycle 2 to 4 times.

My weight is 97 and suffering from hypothyroidism I have done everything to loose weight but in vain now problem I am facing is knee pain severe pain I can't sleep also because of pain I can't go for walking because of pain please suggest me some remedies or tabs.

do test for uric acid ,urea,s.calcium, till then you can take tab. combiflaim sos. IN HYPOTHYROIDISM:--- where there is deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving thyroxine tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Go for walk, Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. flax oil, Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, avoid oily foods,junk foods, go for walk. Do Tests every 3 to 6 months. And consult doctor on time.

Someone at 24 is taking strong pain killers with anti anxiety medicines, the heart remains calm while effect of medicines last, but beats faster later. Do not take these medicines, get basic tests for heart done- ecg, echo followed by stress test, bp check up, blood tests for sugar & total lipids, get back here for more guidance.

Actually I think it is not a muscle but a nerve must be getting pushed because of which you are getting symptoms. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days,then contact me again. For eye problem kindly consult a eye doctor.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

My wife is 55 years old and a sugar patient also. Recently she is getting pain in the knee and she went for x-ray. The report showing that she is suffering from ostro-arthritis and she is taking Jointace C-2 and calcium tablets also. What should we do now.
