Can sputum in the chest which is not coming out can cause the problem of unable to take deep breath?
Accumulation of mucus in chest could lead to breathing difficulties. If you are facing this regularly, I would advise you to opt for homeopathic treatment to put a long-term rest to the problem. Till then you could try taking steam to liquefy the mucus and spit it out.

high cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

What is the connection between high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart disease?
High bp means that the blood is running at a greater pressure than required like water flows in a river at a stable speed, if speed is erratic, there are floods! blood flowing in vessels at higher pressures tend to break blood vessels supplying blood to heart -heart attacks or to brain -stroke or to retina of eye-blindness. All organs are affected.

Hello lybrate-user. First thing is to b self confident. As you are preparing for a competitive exam since 2 years. That shows your passion. I appreaciate you for not dropping the same even after 2 years of your preparations. So keep moving. Dnt bother about what others are telling, you are the person to decide your future. Convince your parents & siblings for the same. Be strong. Find time to engage in some other activities rather than studies, like listening music, gardening, cooking etc. Have faith in almighty. Do your prayers for atleast 15 minutes. Do pranayama, breathing exercise, meditation at early hours. It will help you to be fresh in whole day. Try hard, dream high. Success will be yours. Wishing you all the very best. Wishes & prayers. Take care.

Dietary and other lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure. Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 mm hg. This eating plan is known as the dietary approaches to stop hypertension (dash) diet. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and total fat. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kgs can lower your blood pressure. Strive for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

Dear lybrate-user, I can feel your anxiety and concern. Having multiple disorders require many medicines to be prescribed for each of the disorder. Diabetes can cause erectile dysfunction and many medicines can also lead to erector dysfunction. Also stress and depression associated with chronic multiple disease can contribute or cause erectile problems. It'll be prudent on your part to consult the doctor personally after letting him know proper history. This way he can help you better.

Is drinking too much milk tea daily (6-7 cups) for heart patient and brain clot patient is bad?

Is drinking too much milk tea daily (6-7 cups) for heart patient and brain clot patient is bad?
this is a difficult question to answer. just follow that much of anything is bad. Try to limit your tea intake. though a large metanalysis found that there was 11% reduction in heart disease with 3 cups of tea intake. but the results were not uniform and varied with geographical area. In fact, there was higher mortality in UK and Australia with tea consumption. but, tea has antioxidants and helps us in destressing for sure.

My brother in law has LDL cholesterol of about 180 and he is 42. Should we be concerned?
Cholesterol level should be measured at least once every five years in everyone over age 20. The screening test that is usually performed is a blood test called a lipid profile. Experts recommend that men ages 35 and older and women ages 45 and older be more frequently screened for lipid disorders. The lipoprotein profile includes: Total cholesetrol LDL (low-density lipoprotein CHOLESETROL also called "bad"CHOLESTETROL HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) TRIGLYCERIDES (fats carried in the BLOOD from the food we eat. Excess calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are converted into TRIGLYCERIDES and stored in fat cells throughout the body. High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function.
