I am dibetic but maintaining fasting sugar at 137 with the help of AMRYL FORTE M1 TWO TABLETS a day and JALARA 1/2 tablets per day. My age is 60.Pl suggest cheap and best AYURVADIC SOLUTION.

MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
Internal Medicine Specialist, Mumbai
Jalara is an expensive medicine. Instead of this you can take diamicron xr 60 once a day. Ayurvedic meds are not fully effective hence I would suggest you to stick to allopathy meds.

My advice for your wife is t. Pantocid 40 once daily before breakfast. You can report me the response after 10 days. I am taking it for granted that you must have already tested for conditions that may mimic acidity at this age, if not consult local doctor or myself. Coming to your status, 80-120 is too big a range to recomnend anything. Do dietary restriction with limited fat and sweets and regular exercise. After 3 month, test fasting, 2 hour post meal blood glucose and hba1c. If it comes in diabetic range, you'll require therapy. At this moment you don't need any medicine. Regards.

How to keep the blood sugar in normal without medicine.
Main problem is i'm very lazy to do exercise.
Mr. Lybrate-user, if you do not have diabetes, but if family history of diabetes is there, then you need to take precautions so as to avoid developing diabetes in future. One to avoid that is by adapting modified life style- which means taking a balanced diet, avoiding sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks (colas), avoiding highly processed food products, fructose corn syrup containing products, high fat containing milk products and red meat. Consume a good deal of green leafy vegetables and salads. Use whole grain food products than refined foods. Also refrain from alcohol and smoking. Regular exercise of at least 1 hour so as to maintain normal weight, (your bmi is 24.91 kgs/m2). If this is done then diabetes can be prevented or onset can be delayed. Thanks.

Hi, The value of blood sugar you have mentioned is random or what? Type-2 Diabetes is a lifestyle related problem, so making a few lifestyle changes can lower the chances of developing type 2 diabetes. -Excess weight is the single most important cause of type 2 diabetes, so control or reduce your weight if you are overweight! -Avoid sedentary lifestyle and start get moving. Brisk walking for a half hour every day reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. -Modify your diet: *Choose whole grains and whole grain products over highly processed carbohydrates. The bran and fiber in whole grains make it more difficult for digestive enzymes to break down the starches into glucose. *Avoid sugary beverages which have a high glycemic load, and drinking more of this sugary stuff is associated with increased risk of diabetes. *Choose good fats instead of bad fats. Good fats found in liquid vegetable oils, nuts, and seeds. Trans fats or bad fats are found in many margarines, packaged baked goods, fried foods, fast or junk foods. *Limit intake of red meat and processed meats. Nuts, seeds, beans, tofu, or poultry are much more healthful protein choices. -Quit smoking. -Moderate alcohol consumption decreases the risk of type 2 diabetes. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress or tension! And keep an optimistic attitude in life! Medication: Take homoeopathic SBL’s Diaboherb medicine/ 3 times a day daily. Home Remedies: Dry the leaves of mango tree and grind to a powder. Mix 1 teaspoon dry powder in a glass of water and drink it daily to reduce high blood sugar levels. Take 2 teaspoons of bitter gourd (karela) juice once a day. One can also increase its use as a cooked vegetable. Take 1 teaspoon of Indian gooseberry (amla) juice mixed with 1 teaspoon of bitter gourd juice twice a day.

A girl age 26 years have TSH value 79. 935 which is greater than normal TSH value 4.780, and T4 value is 0.59 which is less than normal T4 0.89, What that's means and what she do to make her TSH normal? Is she have to increase eating iodine chloride salt in food? Please suggest what to do.

MBBS, DNB
Nuclear Medicine Physician, Mumbai
These values of TSH and T4 imply that her thyroid is functioning less than normal. Therefore she has to be given thyroid hormone medication from outside to bring TSH within normal limits and to bring relief to her symptoms if any. Please note that increasing iodine or chloride will not help in her case. She will have to take thyroid medication for sure. Hope this helps.

Hi sir I am 39 year's old and I have diabetes erection problem how can I get that I am non smoker non alcoholic.
Mr. lybrate-user, Diabetes affects small blood and large vessels, even when well controlled. If persistent hyperglycemia is present then the damage is faster and more severe. Due this the penile tissue responsible for stiffening is affected leading to ED. This is one of the most common complications of diabetes. So the primary need is to achieve very strict blood glucose control like FBS closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. But the damage already occurred may not be corrected. Thanks.

The first thing you should do is to eat foods that are high in fiber, This is because fiber rich foods absorb uric acid from the blood. Your kidneys then 'throw' out the excess uric acid. Try to eat Oatmeal, Spinach, cauliflowers and Isabgol in milk if possible.  Please use olive oil to cook your food. Kindly avoid vegetable oils because they become unhealthy when heated twice. This leads to rancid fat in the body. These destroy vitamin E, that in turn controls uric acid levels. Olive oil also curbs uric acid by itself.  Vitamin C chewable tablets taken 500 mg daily lower uric acid levels within 4 to 8 weeks.  Try to stop intake of sweets, cakes and pastries. Saturated fats are bad for you.  Many fruits have got potent anti-oxidant properties, like celery seeds, grapes and tomatoes, and these prevent harmful toxins from attacking your organs - releasing uric acid.

In human blood plasma, the reference range of uric acid is typically 3.4-7.2 mg/dL (200-430 µmol/L) for men (1 mg/dL=59.48 µmol/L), and 2.4-6.1 mg/dL for women (140-360 µmol/L) As you are normal the swelling can be due to sprain or detailed check up is needed.
