I am feeling a little pain near to my heart at d upper side of top left and feeling very uncort. What I have to do?
You should immediately consult your doctor for a physical examination although the pain can be of muscular or nervous origin other than any heart linked problem but if the pain is consistent and you are feeling uncomfortable then you should take an expert advise rather than to sit at home and wait for pain to subside on its own. A proper diagnosis is surely required to rule out number of questions going on in your mind---------------

Duolin is a reliver drug and should not be taken daily. Budecort 200 is very less dose and need addition of laba for good effect. Better get stepped up dose for asthma after consulting a resp. Phy. Get echo done to r/o col pulmonale which may be a cause for oedema. Nebicard though a selective drug and said to be not aggevating asthma, but better to avoid it or reduce its dose.

A therapeutic diet in itself can solve many of your problems. Dietary therapy prescribed by a registered dietitian is needed. You need to provide me daily food intake example. There are many lifestyle and dietary guidelines that can be followed. Eat a balanced diet as prescribed by a registered dietitian, I being a registered dietitian and doctor have been successfully helping patients achieve their optimum weight goals and help in several diseases. The best diet is one which is healthy and well balanced with foods from all the food groups, and one which is varied and that you can stick to I being a registered dietitian strongly accommodate the patients own preferences without the patient feeling that they are on a diet not compromising the weight management goals. I will also prescribe medicines that will speed up the time to achieve your weight management goals and help heal many of your lifestyle diseases. If she has blockages and with all these other illnesses, the first thing should be to get the blockages open either by stents or by surgery and continue with medications post that along with strict diabetes control. If you donot choose to get blockages addressed then she can continue on medical therapy but there is no reassurance that she will not have a heart attack.

lybrate-user, these reports only give an indication to the size of the red blood cells. They do not indicate the confirmation of any disease. The most likely reason of your dry hands is dehydration. This is not directly linked to your high BP, but surely intensified by it. Please begin to drink plenty of water through out the day. Make sure you are not ating packaged, fried, oily, spicy foods that will cause dehydration also. Try to apply simple sesame oil (til ka tel) on your hands 2 to 3 times a day after washing them, to reduce the irritation of dryness. Consume lots of fresh fruit and fresh vegetables in your diet. When there is low vitamin, hands and body can tend to feel dry an uncomfortable. Wish you a happy Diwali.

It's nice to maintain cholesterol levels below normal and they are not harmful, if you have less HDL then try to eat cod liver oil to boost it up as it should be higher.

Sir I have head ach permanently so please diagonise my illness. And I have pain in my chest.
Hi. Continuous head ache can be related to any eye (number) problem. This is the most common reason for it. Occasional chest pain is nothing to be worried about, it is mostly muscular pain. So check your vision from the nearest eye doctor first. Take care.

Why do cholesterol increase suddenly otherwise till that time it is maintain. What is pathology.

DNHE, MD - Alternate Medicine, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Why do cholesterol increase suddenly otherwise till that time it is maintain. What is pathology.
Dear lybrate user, actually cholesterol is a fatty acid. The cholesterol seen in lipid profile report suggested liver can not digest such fat and eeen in reports. According to ayurveda, it is not too much dnager for the body. When we eat opily food for a long time, our liver cannot digest it and it is shown in the report. Accoding to ayurveda, the undigested food (ama) is considered as a cholesterol. For more details consult me.

If LDL and HDL cholesterol level is found at normal and ideal level in our fasting blood test, then should our arteries be also mostly normal without any obstruction of cholesterol?

Having low cholesterol is a sign that your arteries are healthy. However, atherosclerosis, the buildup of cholesterol on the walls of arteries, happens naturally throughout a lifetime. Ways to reduce the speed of buildup is to reduce overall saturated fat intake. Saturated fats have been shown to increase LDL (low density lipoprotein) levels, whose function is to carry fats and cholesterols through the blood vessels. This is necessary because fats and cholesterol are lipids, and cannot dissolve freely in water, or in this case, blood. During times of stress, the cholesterol becomes sticky due to cortisol and sticks to walls of arteries, over time, this buildup can clog arteries. (this is one reason stress is affiliated with poor cardiovascular health). In contrast, regular exercise and a healthy diet have been shown to increase HDL (high density lipoprotein) levels. Their function is to clean cholesterol from arteries for various uses, such as producing bile in the liver. So to sum it all up, having good cholesterol levels ie. high HDL to LDL ratio, is a good indicator that your arteries are in good condition, however it can't tell you for certain that there isn't some atherosclerosis taking place.

Hi, First you should keep track of bp and you should measure resting bp of atleast 10 min. Have low salt diet and regular exercises. You should get one ecg, renal function test, lipid profile, sugar tested. You shouldn't begin high intensity exercises abruptly rather you gradually increase your exercise and if tolerated then can gradually go up. I think if bp is high then medicine must be taken, I usually give Telmisartan to my patients in clinic.
