Pelvic Pain - 4 Ways It Can be Treated

Pelvic Pain - 4 Ways It Can be Treated

Pelvic pain is most common in women, though sometimes it occurs in men as well. There is absolutely no reason why pelvic pain cannot be treated and therefore women need not panic if they are experiencing such pain. The treatment of any pain can be done methodically after discovering its cause. Thus, before jotting down the treatments for pelvic pain, it is important to explore the reasons that cause pelvic pain in women.

Reasons for pelvic pain

  1. Reproductive organs in women play an important part in causing pelvic pain. The reproductive organ is complex when it comes to women and many small or big problems there might end up leading to pelvic pain.
  2. Any urinary infection or bladder irritation might also lead to pelvic pain.
  3. The nerves and muscles of the abdomen may cause pain in the pelvis area as well. In fact, the nerves and muscles are very tender near the pelvis area and care should be taken so that one does not strain them or pull the ligaments. This can cause severe pain.
  4. Another interesting point to be noted is that sometimes even after going through a lot of examinations, no causes of pelvic pain are found. In such cases it is understood that the pelvic pain is a manifestation of the remains of a long forgotten injury or accident.
  5. It has been examined and found out that physical abuse can at times lead to chronic pelvic pain. Though this link has not yet been understood properly, but it is seen to be true.

Treatments for pelvic pain

  1. The most basic treatment is to apply heating pad on the affected area. Heat helps in relaxing the muscles and nerves thereby, lessening the pain. However, this would reduce the pain, but cannot make it disappear in a day. Thus, it is a continued process for a week or 10 days till the pain recedes.
  2. Relaxation techniques like meditation, breathing exercises, yoga and even muscle exercises like jogging help in reducing the pain. However, this should be done under guidance. One wrong move can actually aggravate the pain instead of lessening it.
  3. Then there are painkillers which are non-steroidal and help in lessening the pain. Painkillers have a correct dosage and must be taken only after consulting a doctor. Self-medication in such cases can prove disastrous.
  4. At times, when all medications fail, surgery is the last resort.

Thus, these are some of the treatments that can be undertaken if and when you are experiencing pelvic pain. All these are connected to the root cause and must be followed only under medical supervision.

Hi lybrate-user. 1. Menses gets affected by things like food ; stress ; emotional upset etc to start with. 2. If it so then you should await menses and you wil get your menses normally. 3. If any medication which interfers with menses can also delay it. 4. There is no immediate way to get your menses 5. Either you await menses for about 4-5 days if you think something is like mentioned in point 1.6. If not take tab primilut n one tab daily for 5 days and then stop. You wil get your menses 5-7 days aftet stoppi g the tablet. 7. If this is a recurrent condition get urself evaluated further. Thanks a lot.

Hello,I think you mean to say ivf pregnancy. I. E, in vitro fertilisation. In this we prepare the baby in the ivf lab and then put it into the mothers womb. There are definite indications of ivf one of it being low sperm count. Apart from low count other things to look is its morphology, round cells, etc. Have you undergone a scrotum doppler. Do you have some swelling in the groins. Please send me your reports and will help you better. We have to find out the reason of decrease sperm count and then we can catergorise whether you require an ivf or you can possibly benefited by iui i. E, intra uterine insemination in which we do semen wash and then insert it in mothers womb. Thanks.

Dear, I had a patient of itp with platelet counts of 2000. She delivered normally and both mother and baby is fine. 2. High dose doses of omnacatil and other injectable steroids are less helpful. 3. If not properly managed itp causes dire consequences to mother and baby. 4. Low platelet can cause internal bleeding in mother and cause neonatal intracranial haemorrhage, etc. Please concern for a personal consultation as this case require specialised care. Thanks.

Hello Please dont worry as you have lot of time in your hand so be relax. These are the facts you should know. 1. The egg is released from the ovary midcycle which awaits sperm in the fallopian tube. But it is alive for a very short time. 2. So its really important for you to know these days to keep relations to get a pregnancy. 3. Your wife have to look for these signs midcycle such as a mild increase in the body temperature, thinness of cervical secretions. Etc. This is the time to keep relations. 4. If you provide me the details for the menstrual calender I might let you know these days. 5. The best way to know is to do a transvaginal sonography starting from the tenth day of cycle to see the exact size of the egg and the time it ruptures. Thanks.
