Don't skip breakfast. Eat regular meals. Eat plenty of fruit and veg. Get more active. Drink plenty of water. Eat high-fibre foods. Read food labels. Use a smaller plate.

Eat a high-protein breakfast. Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice. Drink water a half hour before meals. Choose weight loss-friendly foods (see list. Eat soluble fiber. Drink coffee or tea. Eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods. Eat your food slowly.

Dear lybrate-user Kindly investigate the cause of weight loss. Commonest cause is Diabetes and TB I would suggest kindly do basic screen of full medical check-up which usually now being offered for RS 1000/- in many pathology laboratory. Then if everything is normal consult a dietitian for a detailed schedule diet chart. Hopefully your questions is answered.

I am diabetic from 12 years. Nowadays glucose level of me is more than normal. Daily walking is approx 8 kms. I have done HBA1C is 7.2% but FBS is 220 and PP is 270. Taking medicine AMARYL MV2 and GALVUS 50 twice a day. But today FBS 216. Please advise me what will I do for normal level.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. At 40 years, HbA1c% should be closer to 6.8%, to say one has good control. From the glucose levels mentioned, it is clear that present treatment is not helping in controlling blood glucose level. Ideally FBG should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Therefore, we need to have a re-look at the present treatment, dietary intake and extent of daily exercise. We may have to change the present drugs or add one or more compounds to the current treatment. I'm 57 years young lady. I 've thyroid & take 75 mg Eltroxin. 25 mg MetXL for BP. Avas 10 mg for cholesterol. My weight is 87 kg now. I keep myself active but my weight doesn't reduce in spite of careful intakes. Can I be advised on my diet to reduce my weight.

Your desire to gain weight naturally without resorting to any medicines or quick fix solutions is worth appreciating. Besides gaining weight, you should also focus on improvemnt in stamina, strength, immunity and endurance. Weight gain needs patience and happens gradually with improved appetite and sensible eating.
