I want to fill me teeth gap but I do not want to fill it by braces is there another treatment? please help.

Post-Graduate Certificate in Oral Implantology (PGCOI), Certificate In Cosmetic Dentistry, Diploma In Facial Aesthetics, BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Hello yes there are many treatment options to fill the gap between teeth firstly is braces that you don't want to go for. Secondly is the invisible braces called as CLEAR ALIGNERS. These are transparent trays which you have to wear weekly. For further information check www.smilealigner.in then you can also go for veneers but for that we need to check the gap between teeth. Crowns are also an option. Best option which can naturally close the spaces between your teeth is Clear Aligner treatment. Regards.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Gorakhpur
Treatment duration will be about 1 to 1 n half years. Metal or ceramic is your choice. But yes ceramic braces will cost you additional 15- 20 k.

Drinking a cup of tea everyday helps in keeping the gums and teeth healthy as it contains high amounts of flouride and flavonoids which prevent harmful bacteria from sticking to the teeth.

Mouth smell how to get rid of that? please advise best freshener for mouth smell clean.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Dear Lybrateuser, - Bad smell from the mouth can be avoided by proper oral hygiene & diet - brush your teeth after every meal with a soft brush for two min or at least twice a day, do flossing once or twice a day, clean the back of your tongue with a tongue cleaner - do Listerine gargles twice a day - have more of fruits & vegetables in your diet, avoid fried, spicy & junk food - if still not much improvement then check with a dentist to rule out any dental cavies or gap in between teeth where food gets stuck or any other oral condition which is giving rise to your problem.

Ia 42 years female am having severe toothache, already night 1 dolokind plus taken, now i am having severe pa shall I take one more painkiller now?

MDS
Dentist, Kolkata
One should never take too many painkillers without knowing the reason of pain, so I shall suggest that you see a dentist in person and check out with him the reason of dental pain.

1) Are there any simple ways to whiten yellow teeth? 2) How long period does it take to whiten teeth if taken proper measures?

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS

First you have to remove the cause for yellowness of teeth. Then regular brushing may improve it but for finer results you will have to consult a dentist and polish them.

How to clean teeth. My teeth is yellow. I use synsodyene paste. Tell some home remedy to fullish white teeth.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

1. Use Neem datun daily in the morning. No need to do brush with the paste or vigorous rubbing of the teeth and gums. 2. Mix rock salt (saindha namak)- half tsp and lemon juice/ soda powder - 1/4 tsp. Do gentle rubbing on the teeth and gums using the middle finger only. Leave for 2 minutes and clean the mouth. Do this twice weekly. Skip Neem datun for those two days in a week. 3. Do gentle brushing in the night daily before sleeping with any Ayurvedic good tooth paste daily. 4. Oral hygiene is mandatory. Smoking, chewing tobacco, lots of sweetened beverages, too much sweets, alcohol, etc are not good for oral hygiene. 5. Rinse your mouth after main meals with water.

Hello If the gaps are minimal then you can go ahead with laminates or crowns .it takes two appointments approximately. But if gaps are generalised then go ahead with re-ortho treatment.

Mam. I'm having a gummy smile also teeth are not aligned. I have to go for a complete smile designing procedure. What would be the estimated cost and duration for the same.

BDS, MDS - Oral Medicine and Radiology
Dentist, Faridabad
Please consider orthodontic correction over other 'faster methods' because until teeth are correctly aligned, no treatment would make your smile perfect. Orthodontist would suggest if he would be able to improve your soft tissue (lips) profile with treatment and correct your gummy smile line. If he suggests that this cannot be achieves with orthodontic correction, then you should consider other surgery or laser based options. Smile designing is an ongoing process over your life time! It requires you to keep your teeth clean, gums healthy and get frequent dental checkups. Do not lay if all on your dentist! Orthodontic correction: 1-1.5 years Conventional Smile Designing: Veneers and Crowns; three to four sittings Digital Smile Designing: Photographs and software based approach to shouw you what all can be achieved.

With zeal of brining new tool to fight against the everlasting battle against Tooth decay, we bring in the SDF ( silver diamine fluoride). A great alternative for all those young ones who find conventional treatment difficult. Also, parents who are too apprehensive for fillings in early age, this is an excellent substitute. As rightly said, Interrupt to Intervene, Invest in your child's dental health now!

Soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices should be consumed in a limited quantity because they are acidic in nature. Acidic food or drinks often soften the tooth material which leads to the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel, resulting in cavities (holes).

By your complaint, I feel you could be having one of these four complaints: (most common, could be something else also!) 1. Follate papillae: These are vestigial (almost redundant, not used) taste buds of tongue that may become more prominent in some people. 2. Lymphoid aggregates: Lymph nodes are present throught out our body. At times they may develop on sides of tongue because of innumerable reasons. 3. Hairy Leukoplakia: It is almost parallel white colored lines present on the side of the tongue. It is more common in HIV+ patients but is not typical of it. 4. Frictional Keratosis: White colored thick area formed because of chronic irritation from sharp cusps of teeth. Whatever be the reason for this 'dana' do not keep touching it with fingers or tongue. Let it be. Observe it for at least two weeks. Within this time if it ulcerates, swells, pains, or causes a discharge, report to your local dentist immediately for a biopsy. Also, if this persists for more than a month, report to your local dentist for a biopsy. If not, then calm yourself and let the body take its own sweet course. Take care.

I have severe pericoronitis .the swelling won't let me sleep and my neck is stiff .please tell me do I have to get the gums surgically removed? My dentist said it's not that serious and the swelling will go away after antibiotics. But I am scared to eat lots of medicines. Kindly suggest.

BDS, MDS - Oral Medicine and Radiology
Dentist, Faridabad
Regards Please understand what pericoronitis is before you do anything else. It is a physical problem where food particles and plaque accumulate beneath a small area of gingiva overlying a lower third molar. Because of this, it gets inflamed and swells up. Because of the swelling, it gets chewed upon by corrosponding upper tooth. This causes further damage and further aggravates the inflammation and thus swelling. This become a viscious cycle. Because of some antibiotics, painkillers and anti-inflammatory medications, the current episode might resolve only to cause a another episode because the physical problem has not been corrected. This problem is sort of new to our generation based on evolutionary explanations. Our jaw sizes are reducing while the number and size of teeth remains the same. Thus the third molars are generally partially covered by bone and/ or gingiva from the back. This causes third molar impaction or pericoronitis. I would strongly suggest that you stop beating around the bush and get that third molar extracted given that you are unable to sleep because of the severity of this episode. If not indicated in your particular case, consider laser operculectomy (removal of excessive gingiva covering a third molar by laser to cause minimal swelling). It might seem drastic, but take some time and consider the various episodes of pain and swelling that you will have to face unnecessarily because of a tooth that is not as useful in chewing.
