How To Get Optimal Benefits From A Deodorant For Men?

How To Get Optimal Benefits From A Deodorant For Men?

How To Get Optimal Benefits From A Deodorant For Men?

There is a vast array of options to sort through when selecting a deodorant for men. Getting the best benefits from any one of these products requires males to understand what they are and how they are designed to work. Some formulations are perfect for men with minimal body odor and minimal sweating while others are intended for men who saturate their shirts and develop pungent odors fast.

The Difference Between Deodorant And Antiperspirant

If you are the type of male who is primarily concerned with minimizing or eliminating bad body odors, the major differences between antiperspirant and deodorant probably do not concern you. The more health-conscious individual, however, understands that odor-controlling products do not have any significant impact on the performance of the sweat glands. These are glycerin based and can be applied several times throughout the day in order to maintain a fresh smell.

Conversely, antiperspirants are exactly what their title suggests. They combat the natural act of sweating so that people not only stay fresher, but dryer as well. These tend to be preferred by men who are prone to developing large and conspicuous wet spots under their arms throughout the day. Sweat stains are highly noticeable and embarrassing, even when odor-control products are being used. A deodorant for men will help to prevent unfortunate aromas from emanating from sweat stains, but unlike antiperspirants, do little to minimize or prevent their visibility.

Developing A Short-Term Intolerance To Antiperspirants

An antiperspirant might seem like the ideal solution to a major sweating problem, however, it is important to note that sweating is how the body rids itself of harmful toxins. Thus, it is not always beneficial to an individual to have the sweat ducts blocked entirely throughout all hours of the day. Some of the most effective antiperspirant products boast around the clock protection, which means that the sweat ducts are not conducting their normal business at any time if these products are continually present on the skin.

Some men can don these products with no adverse affects whatsoever. They can experience the benefits of having dry and clean-smelling underarms at all hours. Others can develop blocked ducts or sore, swollen lumps in their armpits. The best way to eliminate these is by forgoing antiperspirant products for a short period and allowing this area to rid itself of trapped toxins.

Making Your Deodorant Work More Effectively

Deciding to give your body a break from antiperspirants does not relegate you to walking around with a near permeable stench. A deodorant for men may not stop sweating, but it will significantly reduce unpleasant odors. In order to avoid the development of blocked ducts, men can alternate between two quality formulations. For instance, a strong antiperspirant will help males to avoid embarrassing sweat stains during the work week, while a quality deodorant for men will stave off unpleasant smells during the weekends, when the sweat ducts can be allowed to clean themselves out.

Compulsive Indecisiveness - 5 Ways You Can Get Over It!

Compulsive Indecisiveness - 5 Ways You Can Get Over It!

Do you find it too hard to figure out what to wear? Does taking some important decision leave you feeling paralyzed? These indicate that you suffer from compulsive indecisiveness. Struggling with this problem leaves you stuck in one place and causes you distress. Fear of taking the wrong decision is the primary reason, which makes people indecisive. It is also likely for you to bother too much about what other people think of you.

Here are five important steps, which you should take for overcoming compulsive indecisiveness:

  • Practice on small things: For improving upon your indecisiveness, you should start practicing by taking small decisions every day. Aim at taking 10 major decisions everyday such as where to go for lunch, which route to take to work and more. Slowly, practice taking decisions quickly instead of pondering over a situation. Try to make instant decisions in various spheres of life.
  • Learn to trust yourself: You need to list all your strengths. Write down whether you think if you are smart, creative or funny. Ask yourself whether you can infuse your strengths into your process of decision making. Try to test your strengths in all kinds of matters. Once you are sure of your strengths, you will be able to achieve your goals without hesitation.
  • Pick one thing at a time: You should pick things and matters one at a time to focus on. If there are several things which bother you and add to your indecisiveness, try to handle them one by one. This way you will be able to give all your focus to one matter, and overcome your fears related to it. After that, move on to another fear.

It is important for you to let go and refrain yourself from analyzing whether a decision which you had taken is right or wrong. Instead, focus on activities which matter to you and do not ponder over old decisions.

Pregnancy Complication- 6 Reasons Involved Behind it!

Pregnancy Complication- 6 Reasons Involved Behind it!

Pregnancy is considered to be one of the most challenging and important phases in the life of a woman.

Pregnancy Complications are health problems that occur during pregnancy. They can involve the mother’s health, the baby’s health, or both. Some women have health problems before they become pregnant that could lead to complications. Other problems arise during the pregnancy. Keep in mind that whether a complication is common or rare, there are ways to manage problems that come up during pregnancy.

Some complications that might occur during pregnancy are discussed below:

  • Gestational Diabetes: Gestational diabetes can increase the chance of a larger baby at birth and create delivery complications, increase your risk for high blood pressure and cause the baby to have blood sugar problems after birth. If you are diagnosed, it’s important to consult your gynecologist to control your blood sugar level, which can often be done through diet and exercise.
  • Baby’s activity level significantly declines: Sometimes, the activity of a previously active baby might decline. This can be felt by reducing the number of the kicks by the baby. The doctor has specific equipment that aids in identifying and resolving the problem.
  • Bleeding: Heavy bleeding accompanied by abdominal pain and menstrual-type cramps during the first trimester might indicate an ectopic pregnancy (embryo is implanted outside one’s uterus) or a miscarriage while occurrence in the third semester indicates placental abruption (characterized by the placenta separating from the womb’s walls). Any form of bleeding warrants the immediate attention of the doctor. Steps to avoid bleeding include bed rest, avoiding heavy work, and keeping yourself hydrated.

A Healthy Pregnancy-

The best way to ensure a healthy pregnancy is to focus on the things you can control and don’t obsess about what could happen. Take good care of yourself and your developing baby and talk with your healthcare provider when you have concerns.

Sciatica - 7 Effective Homeopathic Remedies For It!

Sciatica - 7 Effective Homeopathic Remedies For It!

The longest nerve in the body is the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve starts from the lower part of the spine, through your hip to the back of the leg. So when it is said sciatica, we refer to pain in this nerve. Since the nerve covers the spine, hip and leg, sciatic pain is felt in the areas through which it passes. The lower leg muscles and sensation in the legs, thighs and feet are controlled by this nerve.

Symptoms usually include:

  1. Pain that radiates from the lower back to the hip and to the leg
  2. Sharp, tingling, dull, constant or burning pain
  3. Loss of bladder or bowel control
  4. Sneezing or coughing increases pain
  5. Moving the leg gets difficult so usual activities like walking, sitting and standing become painful

Homeopathic remedies are easy and gentle on the body. Homeopathy aims to boost the body's immune system so it can fight all its weaknesses. The following remedies may prove to be useful:

  • Bellis Perennis: In periosteum injuries, stiffness and deep aches in the spine Bellis Perennis is used. It is also used for tailbone injuries. It is also helpful for nerve pains during pregnancy.
  • Calcarea Fluorica: If the vertebra degenerates after trauma to the spine, then Calcarea Fluorica can be useful.
  • Cicuta: The worst back injuries with serious trauma and muscles spasms are treated with Cicuta.
  • Hypericum: Hypericum is suggested for tailbone injuries, temporary paralysis, spinal concussions and for sharp pain that tingles and moves upwards.
  • Rhus tox: If after lifting weights, overexerting muscles and exposure to anything wet, you feel tearing and burning pain, then Rhus tox is beneficial. Cramps that get better after heat application, but get worse after exposed to the cold are also treated with Rhus tox.
  • Ruta: Stiffness and pain from back injuries, twisting the wrong way and bruises are prescribed with Ruta.

Prone Masturbation - What It Is and Why You Need to Stop Doing It

Prone Masturbation - What It Is and Why You Need to Stop Doing It

As sexual attitudes become more liberal in Indian society, many men turn to prone masturbation, or simulating sexual acts to simulate sexual intercourse, and enhance sexual pleasure. However, some types of masturbation are dangerous because they can lead to sexual dysfunction, lower sexual performance, and other sexual problems. Prone masturbation is one such example.

What is prone masturbation anyway?

Prone masturbation relies the man stimulating the penis while lying on his stomach with his hand, pillow, mattress, or sex toys. It is estimated that approximately 10% of males engage in prone masturbation.

How prone masturbation can damage the penis in the long-term

Because prone masturbation places tremendous pressure on the penis base, it can make its participants have a hard time achieving an orgasm - a condition known as anorgasmia. Nearly 60% of prone masturbators have reported anorgasmia - a real sexual problem.  Additionally, prone masturbation can make it harder for men to have erect penises - approximately 33% of prone masturbators have trouble with erectile dysfunction.

How do prone masturbators stop and reverse any potential damage

The first step to accomplishing this is to completely stop engaging in prone masturbation and resume with traditional ways of masturbation. Once engagers have completed this step, they can turn to herbal remedies to treat the nerve and tissue damage leading to penile damage. Perfect examples of herbal remedies are Astragalus Membranaceus, Cornus Officinalis, and Opiopogon, which are completely safe herbal remedies which work wonders in terms of stopping and reversing penile damage from prone masturbation.

Many people engage in prone masturbation without realizing or being aware of its long-term damaging effects on their sex lives because they think that it is the best simulant for the pleasures that sexual intercourse bring.

However, sex does not destroy the penile base or lead to major sexual problems, if anything, its stimulation may strengthen the penis and make sex more pleasurable. It is for these reasons, along with the reasons mentioned above that no man should engage in prone masturbation because of its dangers to his sexual health and pleasure.

Is Hypothermia Harmful After In-hospital Cardiac Arrest?

Is Hypothermia Harmful After In-hospital Cardiac Arrest?

If you become aware that a loved one was induced with hypothermia to improve the survival rate after an in-hospital cardiac arrest, it would make one concerned and worried. As you must be knowing that hypothermia is a particular condition wherein the human body has an abnormally low temperature. This condition can be a typically hazardous situation and can even lead to death in extreme cases. If so, then why is it done? To gain a better insight in this regard, let’s attempt at understanding the process.

How is it practiced?
This treatment procedure is known as targeted temperature management or therapeutic hypothermia and is used in only selected patients after the incidence of an in-hospital cardiac arrest. This induced hypothermia has proved to significantly improve the rates of neurologically intact survival on a long-term basis. This treatment procedure may prove to be one of the most important clinical progressions regarding the science of resuscitation.

Who can receive the treatment?
This treatment of induced hypothermia is beneficial for the intubated patients where the treatment is started within six hours after the occurrence of cardiac arrest. It is also suitable for the patients who can maintain their systolic blood pressure more than 90 mm of Hg with or without the use of presser after the occurrence of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It can also be beneficial to the patients in coma particularly at the time of cooling.

Who can be at risk for this treatment?
This treatment of induced hypothermia can involve a lot of risks and hence proper care before the treatment is essential. There are possible risks of bleeding and infection of the patients who have undergone a recent surgery within a time span of 14 days. There is a slight chance of increase of infection in the patients with sepsis. If the patient was in a coma from other causes like intoxication from drug or if the condition of coma pre-exists in the patient before the cardiac arrest, then this treatment can be harmful. If the patient is known to have bleeding diathesis or with an active bleeding that is ongoing, this treatment would be detrimental since this may impair the system of blood clotting.

Is the treatment useful or harmful?
This is a highly difficult question to answer since the treatment has both positive and negative effects at the same time. It is seen that if all conditions of the patients are studied in detail before the treatment of induced hypothermia, it can have a positive effect on the patients and they can recover well. But there are also studies that suggest there could be neutral or adverse effects due to this process.

Hence, to conclude, the scientific community is looking at conducting more randomised clinical trials to obtain more clarity in this regard and to adopt it as a standard practice as the results show positive outcomes.

Acne - Treating It With Laser!

Acne - Treating It With Laser!

Human skin is prone to many problems like pimples, pigmentation, wrinkles and acne. Acne is the bane of an adolescent’s life. Yet it happens due to a common problem. Hair follicles on skin, arms and the torso, sometimes overproduce cells and become blocked. Due to this blockage, oil produced by tiny oil glands in the skin gets trapped and becomes a breeding ground for bacteria, giving rise to acne.

There are two main types of acne - non-inflammatory and inflammatory. Examples of non-inflammatory acne are whiteheads and blackheads. Blackheads form when a clog or plug develops in the opening of hair follicles in your skin. Each follicle contains one hair and a sebaceous gland that produces oil, called sebum, which helps keep your skin soft. Dead skin cells and oils collect in the opening to the skin follicle, producing a bump called a 'comedone'. If the skin over the bump stays closed, the bump is called a whitehead. When the skin over the bump opens, exposure to the air causes it to look black and a blackhead forms. These are ugly but can be taken care of through common cosmetic procedures.

Inflammatory acne is not so easy to treat or hide. Usually, in this type of acne, the hair follicle wall ruptures and the fighter white blood cells rush into the spot, causing either a very prominent white, yellow or red sore to form or a pus-filled lesion which is damn ugly and leaves a lifelong scar on drying.

Acne Scar Removal-

That’s all about acne, now the treatment. Acne is partially a hormonally linked problem and it is also linked to inflammation. Adolescents suffer the most. Treatments include pills and creams.

But now lasers have become the treatment of choice for sufferers.

Lasers are the magic wands of plastic surgery. They work by emitting a ray of light which produces certain effects in the skin leading to the removal of acne and its scars, as well as skin tightening, and hair removal. Laser treats acne by shrinking oil glands and killing the bacteria that cause acne. They, apparently work on ’porphyrins’, compounds which are present inside acne-causing bacteria. So when porphyrins are targeted, they damage the bacterial wall killing the bacteria.

The kinds of lasers that doctors use for treating acne include Diode, Nd:YAG, IPL, Glass, and Pulsed Light and Heat Energy (LHE), as well as a new "vacuum" laser called ‘Isolaz’ which is extremely effective. There are reports that laser treatment may also reduce sebum (skin oil) levels in the skin which trap bacteria and cause acne in the first place.

The lows of laser for acne treatment are that it’s expensive and usually, requires multiple trips to the dermatologist. Doctors usually recommend three treatments, about a month apart. This can go up if you have stubborn acne.

Laser resurfacing, a process that smoothes the top surface of the skin is also used for getting rid of acne scars. But once again it’s expensive and takes multiple sittings.

Heart Transplant - How To Manage Your Life Post Surgery?

Heart Transplant - How To Manage Your Life Post Surgery?

Heart transplant surgery is one of the most critical cardiac surgeries that exists. Since the procedure requires an open-heart surgery, it often takes a long time to complete the operation. General anaesthesia is applied to the patient so that he doesn't feel a thing. The surgeon then connects the patient to the heart-lung bypass machine so that oxygen-rich blood keeps flowing inside the body. The surgeon then separates the chest bone, opens the rib cage, takes out the old heart to replace it with the new one. As soon as the blood flow is restored, the new heart starts functioning (pumps blood). Sometimes an electric shock is required to make the new heart work.

What to expect after the procedure?
The patient is given pain medications and connected to a ventilator. It helps the patient to breath and ejects body fluid. The medications and the fluid in transferred to the body through IV tubes. The patient is kept in an intensive care unit till his condition stabilizes. He might have to spend a couple of weeks to one month in the hospital before he is permitted to go home.

What to expect after the patient is released from the hospital?
The patient is now closely monitored by the transplant team at the outpatient transplant center. Since the intensity and the frequency of the monitoring are frequent, many patients chose to stay close to the hospital. Frequent tests such as regular blood work, echocardiogram, heart biopsies etc. are conducted at regular interval to monitor any signs of the body rejecting the new heart.

What are the long-term adjustments needed?
consumption of immunosuppressants medications would be sacrosanct for the rest of the life. Since the immune system would never fully accept the new organ, immunosuppressant would ensure that the body's antibodies do not attack the new organ. Over time though, as the risk of rejection comes down, the dosage of the immunosuppressant is reduced by the doctor. Since immunosuppressant has some side-effects, a doctor also prescribes certain antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial medications as well.

  • Managing therapies, medications and lifelong health plan: Heart transplant essentially means following a set of lifelong instructions as prescribed by the doctor. Taking medications on time, eating healthy, regular exercise, skipping junk foods, refraining from tobacco and alcohol are some of the instruction a patient might have to abide by for the rest of his life. Meeting the doctor once in a quarter is also important to ensure that any upcoming complications could be addressed proactively.
  • Emotional Support: Often patients feel overwhelmed by the experience of a heart transplant. The stress of the procedure gets to some patients resulting in less sleep, low appetite, lethargy etc. It makes sense to talk to the doctor and seek help for the same.
