Since 2015, I was taking medicine for diabetes. From last one year I was taking metformin 500. But, due to fever and UTI, I haven't taken any medication for diabetes for last 10 days. Now my UTI and fevers are gone. In last 4 days my pre meal sugar levels were 89, 97, 94 and 93. While post meal reading today was 122. I just want to ask that, I should start the metformin 500 again or there is any other option for me?

You can although start with avoiding simple sugars as far as possible, Eating Out' less, avoiding junk and have good quantity of fresh foods which are not processed like fruits, vegetables, soups, salads, nuts, low fat milk, curd etc. Combine these dietary changes with 30 -40 mins walk. Dear lybrate User, Weight gain needs a healthy wholesome diet with increase in proteins, healthy fats and required carbohydrate intake. Include more of fish, eggs, chicken, nuts and oilseeds, whole milk and milk products in your diet with ample quantity of fresh fruits and vegetables. Do not skip meals and eat frequently. Do some exercise along so that digestion is good. Take care that you do not have constipation and are properly hydrated. Eat green leafy veggies..more of citrus fruits..banana,more of water..eat 4to 5 times in smaller portions..avoid in bulk.. drink milk twice .. eat dry fruits..eat dairy products like paneer,cheese.. dont smoke..dont drink alcohol.. eat protien rich food.. pulses..legumes..potatoes.. opt for protein shakes..do mild exercises.. About the height..it cant be increased now as you are 23 yeras old now..
