There is no need to worry 11.80 HB is normal in women although MCV and MCH are slightly raised it does not indicate any harmful disease condition. As MCHC is normal iron containt in blood is ok. Macrocytes are present due to immature RBC in blood which are due to vitamin b12 deficiency. Although b12 is abundant in non veg food but if you are vegetarian then milk and milk products and legumes are good source of vitamin b12.

If a girl takes ipill without having sex just being in doubt. Den wat il be the effect? When she will get periods? I mean any difference in the bleeding time.

A very common side effect of taking i-pill is a significant alteration in periods –they can either be early or be delayed. Most women will experience withdrawal bleeding at the scheduled or expected dates, while some may get menses within 5 days. If you get periods earlier then expected, you can be assured that pregnancy has not taken place, but in case of delay in periods, it is best to take a pregnancy test one week over the expected date. This is largely a rare occurrence.

I am aged 34 and my husband is aged 36. We are married for 6 years. I am trying to conceive since then, but not yet successful. I have a regular 26 day cycle. I had gone for IVF too, but could not conceive. Both of us have lot of stress in our work. We doubt that the same is affecting my conception. Request your advise on the days to be followed for intercourse and things to be taken care of with respect to food etc.

6 years of infertility at the age of 34 needs proper treatment by infertility specialist. Natural conception chances are very less. You need to give this treatment as priority over your job. Please consult the specialist for further plan of the treatment.

Hello lybrate-user! 6 years for PCOD treatment seems to long to me. I have treated PCOD patients all through and it usually takes about 12-18 months till I stop the medication and ask the patient that she no more needs it. I would suggest you to consult with a good homoeopathic physician and get yourself treated with homoeopathy.

Hi Sir, Kya hum vagina me Lignocaine jelly lga ke sex kar sakte hai. Kya Iska koi side effect hoga. Vagina ya fir penis pe.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine & Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Hello- You can apply lignocaine gel 2% (lox 2%) on your two fingers after wearing a condom on your fingers, and then try to enter the fingers into her vagina gradually and keep them inside for 10- 15 minutes. After a few days start entering 3 fingers in the same way. When her vaginal opening becomes dilated, then start entering penis after applying gel on your penis too. This gel will help combating vaginal dryness and will help you to enter your penis easily.

Hello Do not have to fear about the report and the contraceptive pills side effects. Making conception needed so good patience. Sometimes without patience couples are suffered from lots of treatment, investigation and much more. Simply stop the pills and start to try on fertile days (if you have normal periods then its been from 10th to 16th day of periods) after 3- 4 months of trying for conception, if not succeed then you needed to consult a doctor. Regards Dr. Nikul Patel Ayurveda Infertility expert Ayurveda consultant.

Renal Failure - 3 Best Treatments!

DNB (Nephrology), MD, MBBS
Nephrologist, Delhi
Renal Failure - 3 Best Treatments!

When your kidney function falls below a certain point, it is referred to as a kidney failure or renal failure. Fortunately, you can still continue to lead a normal life with the right treatment for renal failure. Here are the three best treatments that you can choose depending on your condition and lifestyle:

1. DialysisDialysis is the process that takes over the function of your kidneys to filter out the waste from your blood and maintain the proper balance of chemicals in the blood. You may use dialysis for many years or as a short-term treatment while waiting for a kidney transplant. Dialysis is not a cure for kidney disease, rather it helps you deal with renal failure. It is life-saving and without it, the kidneys will no longer function.

There are two types of dialysis treatments that you can choose from:

  • Hemodialysis – This type uses a machine to remove waste from the blood and sends it back to your body. It can be done at home or at a dialysis center.
  • Peritoneal Dialysis – This type uses the lining of your belly called the Peritoneum to do the work of your kidneys. A catheter and dialysis solution is used to carry out the function.

There are benefits and complications for each type of dialysis. The treatment decision will largely depend on the patient’s illness and their past medical history. Discuss with your doctor to decide the best option for you.

2. Kidney Transplant: Kidney transplants can provide a better quality of life than dialysis and can be seen as a potential cure for kidney failure. A healthy kidney from a live donor or deceased donor is surgically placed in your body as a replacement to the failed kidneys. Although this may be a better option for you, it has certain shortcomings. There is an element of rejection and you may have to wait for a long time to get a donor. Extensive testing and anti-rejection medications are prescribed with this treatment.

3. Palliative CareRather than cure, it is the care that people with serious illness need. With so much to deal with, the patients have an array of tough questions and challenges to deal with. Patients need to take into account all medical options and care options based on their condition and severity of the renal failure.

Making the right treatment choice is difficult and that too when you are ill. It is normal to be fearful and worried about the risks involved. Get support from your family and doctor to help you make the right treatment choice. It may also be helpful to visit a dialysis or transplant center to talks to others who have been through these treatments.
