In my Echo report Ventricular Septum shown as concentric LVH. What is it, and which doctor I should consult.

In my Echo report Ventricular Septum shown as concentric LVH. What is it, and which doctor I should consult.
The most common reason for isolated Concentric LVH in your age would be your blood pressure not being well controlled for a long time. Discuss it with your physician and discuss the same with him, You need titration in the blood pressure medication if you are taking one. Regards.

Discovered hypertension in the age of 19, for which many tests were done, but all of them were found to be normal. Finally my doctor (cardiologist) prescribed me CTD-T 6.25/40 on a daily basis and after that my bp was normal. Now I am consuming the medicine in alternate days, still my BP is normal. Should I take it in alternate days or on a daily basis?

Hello keep it on daily basis, Can reduce it to 1/ 2 daily and continue the same for 3 months atleast. Afterwards remove CTD component and continue only 20 mg telmisartan. Later with life style modifications and diet you would be able to wean of from medication. Keep your Cardiologist in loop during the process and follow his/her advice.

Hello lybrate-user, Myocardial bridge is a problem only when it's very severe. A Good part about it is even in most severe form 90 % we can manage on medication. To know if its physiologically relevant, ideally try getting a Stress thallium, if not available onky a stress test is fine. Based on the result we can determine the treatment. If normal at certain level of activity (10 Mets) at your age, Generally no treatment for is required.

Sir my father is 46 year old ,recently he has checked his bp which shows the 160/90 ,is it normal bp or not if it is not what he used to do in order to make it normal.

Sir my father is 46 year old ,recently he has checked his bp which shows the 160/90 ,is it normal bp or not if it is ...
Hello lybrate-user, the blood pressure of 160 / 90 is in the hypertensive range and by all means it should be preferably be brought under the range of 120 -140 and 80 -85. Considering he is young and the pressure range is not very high, it can be do so by holistic ways and not starting medication. 1)He has to cut salt in his diet. Not more than 3 -4 gms per day. Earing healthy with more of fruits and vegetables in diet would be helpful 2) At least 30 mins of aerobic exercise everyday 3) Quit smoking, of he drinks - to drink in moderation and if overweight try to loose weight to achive ideal BMI under 23. At the same time some tests to rule out secondary cause of hypertension should be considered and effects of hypertension on eyes, kidney and heart should be evaluated. Keep a strict tab on above if still the pressure reading are high consider started medication atleast for time being, than as things improve can taper it off showily. Regards

Hello lybrate-user, A old calcified upper lobe lesion in Indian context suggests an old healed lesion of tuberculosis. You may not have an history because your natural immunity may have taken care of the same while you were young. As most countries have been successful in eliminating TB in there countries from being a public hazard, They avoid anyone with such a possibility. No treatment required for the same medically. You may consult your doctor for way out of it and possibilities.

My wife is 42 years old. She has a mechanical MVR surgery done in 2006. 13 days ago she had a Left MCA Brain stroke. ICA, MCA block. Now she is completely fine. She is taking warf still her previous surgery. What PT INR range should we kept? We confused. Thanks.

DNB Cardiology, MD - General Medicine, MBBS

Hello, for mechanical mitral valve replacement the recommended inr is 3. Adding low dose aspirin 75 mg or so to warfarin is another way forward, however there is a slight chance of increased bleeding, though all studies have found benefit more than the risk, particularly for your wife as she is young. Regards

For general qwey iwan to know the normal Range of high blood pressure and the normal Range of low blood pressure?

For general qwey iwan to know the normal Range of high blood pressure and the normal
Range of low blood pressure?
Hello lybrate-user, the upper range of blood pressure is 140 / 90, anything above requires care either by cutting salt in diet, aerobic exercise and if required medicines. As such there is nothing as low blood pressure, it a misnomer with general population to attribute the symptoms of feeling low to low blood pressure. However one should maintain blood above 110 / 70 at your age and hence that can be considered as lower limit.

Hello, the very essence of a successful enterprise, is the person being strong and level headed. There are millions of examples where multiple 1st attempts did not fare well and they ultimately founded one of the biggest company in the world, like ali baba, uber, whatsapp and millions other, however common thing amongst them was one took the easy way out to alcohol. They studied the reason for failure, improved upon the mistake s ultimately to strike gold. All your symptoms are because of alcohol and lack off sleep, a visit to a psychologist is strongly suggested so he can help you before you damage your health and future prospects both. Hoping I could help.

2D Echo shows, Left Ventricle EF is 55% and I conclusion it is written as LV RWMA+ and Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction. Is it something serious?

2D Echo shows, Left Ventricle EF is 55% and I conclusion it is written as LV RWMA+ and Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction....
Hello, lv remain present, means that one portion of the heart wall is not contracting adequately, which is suggestive of a possible block in one of your arteries which may have resulted in silent heart attack, though as the pumping of the heart is near normal it would have been an minor event. Based on the reports (however I would like to review ecg and complete echo report) furthur investigation for evaluation of your heart is strongly recommended.
