6 Tricks to activate metabolism in the morning 

Boosting your body's metabolism is largely related to burning calories and reducing weight. Try these effective methods esp. if you are overweight, if you are already lean, never over-do anything, be it exercise, eating or drinking. 

6 ways that can help you improve your metabolism. 

  1. Workout: Working out can be the easiest and best way of boosting your metabolism. Do walking, running and cycling. Sweating will tell you how much you have worked out and if you continue it for few months, the results will be favorable.
  2. Eat fresh fruits and salads: Don't starve yourself by not eating food properly. Avoid fatty and fried food but have as much fresh fruits and salad as you can. This will not make you put on weight. Keep taking fruits and salads at short intervals because these have an ability to get digested early as compared to fatty food.
  3. Take plenty of water: For increasing your metabolism, kick start your day with at least 3-4 glasses of water. It will help all your other efforts of reducing weight in sync. It will keep your body hydrated.
  4. Drink lemon in warm water and green tea: Waking up early can actually boost your metabolism; you can see the results after following this habit. Along with this, metabolism will get a boost if you get up half or one hour early. Leave the habit of taking normal tea, instead start taking green tea, it will not only be healthy but since it's an antioxidant, it will take care of your immune system as well.
  5. Lift weights: Lifting weights can give you instant results. Within a month of lifting weight you will experience boost in your metabolism. But this must be done under trainer's guidance.
  6. Eat boiled eggs and never skip breakfast: Having boiled eggs in the morning will fulfill your protein intake. Also, it will keep your stomach full for a longer time. On a way to boosting your metabolism, it's recommended not to skip breakfast at any cost.

Going for a mini vacation and worried as to how you would be able to stick to your diet and fitness regimen?

Don't fret Here are a couple of tips that will help u stay as near as your meal plan specially designed by your Registered Dietician, for your lifestyle

Firstly do not consider diet/ meal plan and exercise regimen as a burden. the key is to incorporate healthy eating and exercise as a part of normal living patterns.

Be well informed about the local foods available at the places that you would be visiting.

Choose wisely the low-fat options available.

Simultaneously, be also aware that low-fat foods are not necessarily low calorie, especially coz then you tend to eat them in larger quantities. The extra carbohydrates proportion created due to the reduction in fat percentage will eventually get converted into fat

Leave your dining table with a feeling that you could have eaten more. Do not stuff your stomach to its fullest capacity

Keep handy snacks like roasted chana, dry fruits (preferably the unsalted ones), fresh fruits, roasted makhanas, khajoor, etc

Avoid loading onto bakery foods in your food luggage bag. even the seemingly low calorie healthy/ whole grain bread and biscuits would do more harm than good coz of the trans-fatty acids or the saturated fats used as leavening agents

Remember the motto 'from farm to plate- no machinery in between'

Instead of popping in peppermints and accumulating sugar and hence fat, the healthy idea would be to keep a stock of natural mouth fresheners like cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, etc. these will up your antioxidant quota too.

Do not neglect your protein intakes. Carry packets of skim milk powder with you and enjoy fat-free milk, anytime, anywhere.

Carry sufficient water bottles along. do not tank up on carbonated beverages, just because you feel lazy to carry the extra weight in your handbags.

The extra weight that you put on while consuming these on your memorable trip, would be a disaster to health and lead to guilt later on

Lastly, do not forget your exercise regimen. Remember, muscle mass tends to be lost within 7 days of physical inactivity. Loss of muscle mass leads to reduction in basal metabolic rate and more of fat accumulation and the famous 'yo-yo syndrome.' which makes fat loss difficult later

Physical activity can be any forms like avoiding the elevator and using the staircases only of the hotel. walking as much as possible for short distances, especially when the sight seeing distances are shorter.Asana like Surya namaskar, chakki asanas, etc can be done an early morning in the hotel room itself. Mantra is to keep walking (it will help you burn the extra calories consumed and also keep your metabolic rate elevated.

One would not like to come back from a memorable trip outstation and be bogged down with the guilt of fat tires and love handles accumulated. prevention is better than cure.

Most importantly, even if you have failed to follow any of these tips, pl do not forget to go to your Registered Dietician for your regular scheduled follow-up visit

Hi With a height of 6 ft, you r definetely underweight. But remember to concentrate on muscle and stamina gain rather than weight gain. There is no point being of proper weight when your paunch is protruding out. Have a diet gd in proteins and do not forget to exercise and eat appropriately at the right time

I am 24 years old and my weight is just 58 kg and my high is 6 feet. I always stay ill and no matter how much I eat I never gain weight and feel weakness. I need to gain weight and feel strong what I shall I do please suggest me. Dear , mdr tb requires a significantly high calorie high protein diet, which I m sure you might b taking, along with the right medicines and multivitamins prescribed by your treating Dr. Sources of high protein are milk n all milk products like curds, paneer, rasgullas, etc. Thick dals, sprouts, pulses, soyabean. If you r a non vegetarian, you should include eggs, fish chicken etc daily in your meals. Things like a aloo paratha wd curds or a paneer paratha, which fits in your eating patterns r really good options.

Your height will depend mainly on whether your epiphyseal bone fusion has occured or no, which by age generally occurs. Second factor is the height of both your parents there is no possible way you can lose maximum weight in shortest span of time, coz the weight has also accumulated over a period of time n not overnight.

Diabetes is a condition which occurs when nearly 70% of the pancreatic functions are lost. Once it has occured, it can b controlled though. Your aim should b to decrease the dependancy on medications. The easiest way to control diabetes is to eat a carbohydrate controlled diet, in fixed quantities and fixed intervals stay healthy, stay blessed.

Why diabetes is not decreasing even if he takes regular medicines and also remain tired always? Please advise.
Main therapy of diabetes is diet control, in addition to medicines. If you do not control diet then there is no point in taking medicines. Tiredness is coz the high sugar remains in the blood and does not enter the cells. So the cells feel like a starvation situation and feel weak. Stay healthy, stay blessed.
