HOW IS BLOOD IN SEMEN DIAGNOSED?
General physician will conduct a complete medical examination by recording all recent activities and symptoms. They will also conduct a rectal and genital exam. For further confirmation of diagnosis or for prolonged blood in urine, Urologists may order for urinalysis or urine culture.
HOW IS BLOOD IN SEMEN TREATED?
The treatment will be based on the symptoms and cause of the problem. In younger men, if blood in the semen happens just once or twice, without any additional symptoms or history of certain medical conditions, it can disappear on its own and may not require any treatment. Antibiotics are prescribed for any infections by the urologist.
