Thyroid prob Hi Yours is a case of thyroid dysfunction. You have taken the right medication for the same? If you can avoid thyroid antagonisers in food like soya, jowar, bajra, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, mono sodium glutamate that's Chinese salt n so all Chinese food n a lot of processed foods too have it ; so it would be safer if you can read labels of processed foods and avoid it too .do get in touch with your lab reports for a private consult so I can help you select food in a wholistic way.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Madam in hypothyroidism TSH goes above the normal range. Usually when TSH is > 10 mU/L then treatment is started. With adequate dosage of Levothyroxine TSH level is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L In uncontrolled hypothyroidism some patients do suffer with anxiety also. Therefore, maintaining TSH as mentioned above is very important. As regards taking Ashwagandha, there is no harm in taking it along with Levothyroxine. Thanks.

Why am I getting leg cramps since my Dr. switched me from levothyroxine to synthroid?

The content of synthroid is levothyroxine only. Avoid alcohol and coffee. Check for low level of iron, vitamin B, folic acid, magnesium and calcium , deficiencies can cause RLS. Take vit E daily..It will help u in this. Exercise daily or do yoga . Stress can make RLS symptoms worse. Keep ur thyroid under control. Hope this helps u.

The first and most important thing is control of your thyroid problem. Correct your diet. Consume plenty of pulses, legumes, sprouts, grams, soya and nuts. If you r nonvegetarian, have meat, fish, milk and milk products in plenty. Drink lots of water. Avoid stressing over your hair fall since dopamine released can decrease hair further. Stay away from chemicals like hair dyes, bleaches. Avoid straighteners and hot combs. Overwashing and overshampooing can make your hair fall. Wash your hair twice a week and shampoo on the same day. Use mild shampoos. Massage scalp thoroughly to increase blood circulation. Towel dry hair, do not use blow dryers. Make sure not to sleep with wet damp hair. Comb hair regularly before going out. Protect your hair from sun. Stay away from alcohol and caffeinated drinks like coffee and cola since they produce antioxidants which damage free radicals. Exercise regularly for it promotes blood flow and enhances healthy, shiny hair growth. Yoga and meditation help destress. You vil need to take biotin tablets everyday after breakfast.

Dr. Which is best in high tsh level Thyroid Levothyroxine or Thyroxine please give me a solution.

Dr.Abhinav P 88% (39ratings)
General Physician, Bangalore
You mentioned only TSH level you didn't mention T3 T4 level. Based on which medication should be started. Thyroxin is what is present in body and levothyroxin is synthetic version of thyroxin what companies produce. Please don't start any such tablets on your own without a doctors advice. Feel free to contact me here if you have any queries anytime with reports.

It's in upper range. What other symptoms r you having with this. Actually it depends on symptoms. It's better that you ask your physician (MD medicine) for this. Otherwise you can control this with lifestyle changes also 1. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). 2. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. 3. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 4. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Avoid fast foods n fried foods 7.Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 8. Drink lot of water 9. Everyday preferably sleep on same time Eating every 2 hours increases basal metabolic rate also. If you follow this over a period of time you will see that your intake of food has decreased Exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, Swimming, gymming, walking etc. For more details you can consult me.

You must not take this drug unless you are hypothyroid. It will suppress your own hormones. You can get tremors or palpitation if overdose occurs.
