Dear Arti,
At the outset, i will tell you about quality of life years. WHO mentions for this millennium, it is not death rate, but quality of life years that matters as outcome of treatment. Please think about 50 years of life with active interest or 100 years of cursing life daily.
Both depakote and risperidone don't reduce your life span by themselves. They are NOT poisons - not even slow poison like cigarettes or sedentary life. Both of them cause weight gain that in turn causes sug...more

Dear Pramod,
Please continue with the same tablets and consult your doctor again to add therapy (to question and challenge the negative automatic thoughts) or to change the dose of drugs.

Dear Shadab,
Nice to know that you are concerned about your father. High cholesterol levels cause ischemia that can cause slowness.
Another possibility is there, please check on it. Is he taking Risdone plus (containing both Risperidone and THP) or Risdone (only risperidone). If he took risdone without THP, he might have got little risperidone induced parkinson. It might have slowed him down. Probably in the native place, risdone plus was not available.

It is not clear what you mean. Risperdal is not a disease and is a medicine given for mental illness. Please ask clearly.

Dear Aishwarya,
Aggressiveness may be a part of your paranoid schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia needs to be treated with antipsychotics. There are many different types of antipsychotic available. One had to try few of them before deciding the proper drug and dose. May be soltus 200 did not work that well the doctor changed to risperidone (risdone plus)
Once your paranoid ideas come down, the aggressiveness will be controlled. Please continue treatment and consult the doctor repeatedly.

Hello Lybrate-User,
It is nice of you to think about your brother's behaviour. He may be suffering from a psychosis with no insight into his condition. In such psychosis, the person does not want medicines. Treating him without his consent, can be discussed with the psychiatrist. There are many ways to get him into treatment. There are dispersible tablets, liquids and long acting injectables of risperidone available.

Dear lybrate-user,
you seem to be having some symptoms of depression still. It will go away with treatment. You are already on nexito forte and riz. Please consult your doctor again without stopping these tablets for further improvement.
