Hi Lybrate user
for latent TB tests are Mantoux (a skin test) and interferon gamma assay (blood test).
For active Tb the suspected organ I'd important. Assuming it is lung because that is the most common site the tests are chest x ray And sputum test. Sometonds CT scan or biopsy may be required.

We in india usually do not treat latent tb, where as in american and european countries they may treat it also. The reason for it are: 1. Our 40% of population is infected with tb and treating 40% of the population is not a practical task. 2. Even if an individual takes treatment for latent tb, the tb disease is so common in the community that person may still again get tb infection from a tb patient in community.

Antiviral Drugs – These are drugs that stop or slow down the hepatitis B virus from reproducing, which reduces the inflammation and damage of your liver. These are taken as a p...more

It is used to assure the patient has a healthy immune status and also serves as a control for correct blood handling and incubation. It is used to detect false-negative readings. In order for a test to be valid, the mitogen tube must have a gamma interferon value ≥0.5 IU/mL higher than the value of the Nil tube.
The quantiferon assay does not differentiate between recently acquired or old infection, or between a latent TB infection and active tuberculosis. For a test to be considered positiv...more

The treatment of patients with oral submucous fibrosis depends on the degree of clinical involvement. If the disease is detected at a very early stage, cessation of the habit is sufficient. Most patients with oral submucous fibrosis present with moderate-to-severe disease. Moderate-to-severe oral submucous fibrosis is irreversible. Medical treatment is symptomatic and predominantly aimed at improving mouth movements. Treatment strategies are described below. The role of these treatments is still...more
