Hi, your symptoms look more like allergic rhinitis or could be simple viral (flu). Please exclude any allergen that might have triggered your symptoms. Antibiotics do not play any role in such cases. Substitute cetirizine with tab allegra 120 mg twice a day for 4-5 days. Otrivin nasal drops twice a day for 3 days followed by steam. Hope this helps!

1. Do saline gargles daily. 2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also. 3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of ac. As our nose is the most sensitive part of our body, when there is temperature difference between two rooms or inside n outside, then if we not protect our nose, it gets affected. 4. Drink hot liquids --hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat. 5. Sleep with an extra pillow under your head-- elevating your head will help relieve congested nasal passages. If the angle is too awkward, try placing the pillows between the mattress and the box springs to create a more gradual slope. 6. Treat that stuffy nose with warm salt water-- salt-water rinsing helps break nasal congestion, while also removing virus particles and bacteria from your nose. 7. Blow your nose often (and the right way)-- it's important to blow your nose regularly when you have a cold rather than sniffling mucus back into your head. But when you blow hard, pressure can carry germ-carrying phlegm back into your ear passages, causing earache. The best way to blow your nose: press a finger over one nostril while you blow gently to clear the other. Homeopathic treatment has very encouraging results. Consult online for details.

Hello doctor myself prabhjeet singh. I had done my allergy test 3 years back. I was allergic from dog and dust. But now I have no any cold nd sneezing. I just have to take cetrizine tablet weekly for itching on the whole body. Now what I have to do.

Dermatologist, Noida
Dear Lybrate user, cetirizine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction. Cetirizine does not prevent hives or prevent/treat a serious allergic reaction (such as anaphylaxis). Therefore, if your doctor has prescribed epinephrine to treat allergic reactions, always carry your epinephrine injector with you. Do not use cetirizine in place of your epinephrine. Our doctors usually treat this kind of issue by administering proper medications. But they first assess the skin type and nature of the patients. It helps them to proceed correctly with the aim of uprooting the exact cause of any skin trouble. We are inviting you to avail our video consultation assistance. This shall help you to discuss this kind of issue very easily with one of our senior doctors. It will provide you with a similar level of satisfaction like that of visiting a doctor in-person.

Hi, i'm a female 29 years old. About a week ago, I have back pain on my left side. And a few days later, I feel my left side breast just under my arm feel itchy. I change my bra to a something similar to sport bra but made of cotton. And just yesterday I noticed several bumpy rash at that place. I still have back pain. And just now after taking a shower, I also noticed a patch of redness in my back. The place between the two rashes feel itchy like something crawling on it. The rash on the back for now its not painful or even itchy. Can you tell me what the possibility of this rash is? Before this, i've read on the internet that breast cancer can start from rash on the skin. Something called ibc. I'm freaking out now. But, let me be positive because now I feel like something crawling on my skin on almost all my left side, chest, back, waist and arms. Thank you for your help. I don't know if my explanation make a sense. Right, another thing is I sometimes have back acne. But it usually go unnoticed. I've also found some other diseases that has similar symptoms, like shingles and several skin rashes. Some even listed bone pain as a symptoms of rashes. I was hoping that my fear just unnecessary. And what i'm having right now is something far less scary than ibc. Because, besides all those symptoms I didn't notice any swelling in lymph nodes, my nipple is also fine. And no other breast cancer symptoms occur. Oh well. I should probably go to hospital to make sure of this. Once more thank you.

You have contact dermatitis and the new attire is the cause of allergic rashes. You need to apply creams and take cetirizine like antihistamines for a week.

Is Zyrtec (Cetirizine) safe to use long term? My child is 3 years old and will often get bouts of cough, usually late at night. A doctor said to give him Zyrtec 5 ml once a day. The medicine works well. All his symptoms stop or are reduced when he is taking Zyrtec, but when he stops the symptoms return after a few days. How long can he take zyrtec? Is it safe for long term use?

Your child seems to be very much allergic, rather than cetrizine you can take nasal sprays- Not the one coming in ads. Nasal sprays can be used for long term and is less harmful. For details you can consult me.

It is most likely that dolo650 is the cause opf allergy in your case. Very rarely one can be allergic to cetirizine but that is very very rear. So stop taking dolo650 .if you need any pain killer you should see a doctor who will prescribe the right kind of pain killer for you.
