If you have been stabilized with amisulpiride and sizopin , its better to continue the same treatment. if you have any side effects or if there is no improvement, then only you think of changing the medication. As such paliperidone has no serious side effects but can cause stiffness of muscles and shaking in some pts.

The dose of the medication is usually increased if necessary after considering various factors by your wife's treating psychiatrist. I believe that you have a good measure of timelines since you have encountered the same issue in october of 2014 and the medication was given monthly for only two months and it was not satisfactory. Schizophrenia needs long term treatment. Long term treatment has long term side effects. Usually they are NOT fatal. There are drugs that pass through liver, making it work more. But there are drugs that does not pass through liver, like Paliperidone. It is given during jaundice period. The doctor treating your friend knows about the drugs and its long term side effects. It is nice of you to continue to treat your mother for many years. Schizophrenia is a lifelong disorder just like diabetes or high BP. So your mother needs lifelong treatment. Senorm LA is a better way to be sure that she takes the drug regularly. It usually acts for 2-4 weeks. You can NOT give as per requirement.
