If the patient is confident they can definitely walk. However for safer reasons it is better to keep a tripod or tetra pod stick (stick with 3 legs or stick with four legs) and if you do some strengthening exercises you will recover faster.

there is minimal gait abnormality found in such types of operations if surgeon performed good surgery.
Due to muscle weakness and knee there is some gait problem but resolves as the muscles strengthen.
