    How does this medication work?

It is an agent that causes diffusion of thick mucus. Uncontrolled quantity of nitric oxide (NO) is related to inflammation and other kinds of disruptions of the functioning of the airways and reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucous in the upper respiratory tract to increase flow of mucous, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucous. It also selectively inhibits the peripheral H1 receptors thereby reducing the histamine levels in the body. It specifically acts on allergies caused in the stomach and intestine, blood vessels and airways leading to the lung. Lastly, it works by triggering the TRPM8 receptors in the skin that are cold-sensitive. It does that by blocking calcium currents of the neuronal membrane. Through kappa-opioid receptor agonism, it can also produce analgesic characteristics.
