Dear Lybrate-User,
Yes, you can take mifepristone for emergency contraceptive. Dose is 10 -50 mg as single dose. But these dose pills are available in only few countries. So you can take 1st dose of 4 standard pills of mala d or mala n within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse and second dose of 4 pills again after 12 hours good luck.

emergency contraception works better the sooner you take it. EC can give you a second chance to prevent pregnancy after sex. You can use EC as many times in a month as you need it, but remember, it is not as effective as birth control that's used before or during sex, like the pill or condoms.

There are two types of morning after pill: Levonelle® and ellaOne®. Levonelle can be taken up to 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex. EllaOne can be used up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex. Regular family planning methods are more effective than emergency contraceptive pills.

Since she has taken the pill in correct time it should work and prevent unwanted pregnancy. But in case her periods are delayed you should get pregnancy test done to be safe.
