About Lcz Plus Tablet

Lcz tablet is a combination of Ambroxol, Levocetirizine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine. Primarily it acts as a systemically active mucolytic agent which works by breaking down the structure of mucus in the lungs and therefore facilitating expectoration. This medication helps in treating common cold. Do not use this medication if you are:

  • Allergic to it
  • Breastfeeding
  • Having Stevens-Johnson syndrome
  • 12 years old or younger.

Take extra precaution while using this tablet if you have a liver disorder, kidney failure or stomach ulcers. The usual dosage of this tablet for adults is 30 mg to 120 mg daily, taken in 2 to 3 divided doses. For children of varying ages, dosage also varies. Follow your doctor’s prescription and and try not to miss any doses.

    How does this medication work?

    This tablet works via multiple mechanism. Firstly, it acts as an agent that causes diffusion of thick mucus. Uncontrolled quantity of nitric oxide (NO) is related to inflammation and other kinds of disruptions of the functioning of the airways. It also inhibits the activation of guanylate cyclase which is nitric oxide dependent. Secondly, it selectively inhibits the peripheral H1 receptors thereby reducing the histamine levels in the body. Thirdly, this medication is a pain relief medication that selectively inhibits enzyme function in the brain which allows it to treat pain and fever. Lastly, is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist belonging to the penethylamine class, which acts as a nasal decongestant.
