Is it bad to have tab Microcid SR (Indomethacin) for a long time? Treatment for gout.
Hello, Thanks for the query. Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with very good action, but should be used with caution. Long term use is not very safe, as it may cause gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration, may damage kidneys. It is better to use it for a short period of say few days. Thanks.

Microcid contains indomethacin, a drug used for relieving pain and inflammation. This drug per se is not contraindicated during breastfeeding and can be taken if required but daily intake of this drug should be avoided for one's own benefit.

Well indomethacin have soo many side effects. Some serious side effect-heart attack, stroke, dizziness, some skin lession, shortness of breath. Some less serious side effects-nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, gastric upset, diarrhoea, headache, nervousness, rash, weight gain. Soo I think you should stop it. U must do homoeopathic treatment for your arthritis problem. Whatever your suffering from. Like rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, rheumatic arthritis, by proper homeopathic treatment it is curable. Indomethacin will only supress your pain will not cure your problem. Soo go for homoeopathic treatment. Soo you can contact me through Lybrate.

Neck message will give good results. Use little good oil or plain water and massage from either side on the mid shoulder blade. Use your thumbs and move it slowly upwards on the back of neck up to the lower level of ear. Repeat 5 to 10 times. Do not do from top to down. Finally move your neck up and down, sideways left and right. Results are excellent.

Chiropractic adjustment will help. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

I am 59 years old male and usually have body pains due to sitting excessively. I feel comfortable throughout the day if I take indomethacin once or twice a day with meals but I heard it's bad for kidneys if taken regularly. Kindly clarify if it's ok to take one each after breakfast and dinner or once only.

Sitting all day loosens and weakens the muscles in the body, particularly those in the midsection and lower body. And without strong legs and glutes, our lower body becomes unable to hold us up when sitting down or keep us stable when walking and jumping.
