About Ifoxan + Mesna Injection

Ifoxan + Mesna Injection is a potent chemoprotective agent injected into a vein, intravaneously after the chemotherapy drugs have been administered. There are also oral solutions and tablets of the medicine available and it allows patients to return home sooner. However the dose is determined by the discretion of the doctor depending on a number of physical factors such as height, weight, age, response to treatment and other underlying medical conditions. It can also be taken orally. The main function of this drug is to reduce the risks of bladder haemorrhage. It is used to prevent haematuria in cancer patients receiving ifosfamide and cyclophosphamide for chemotherapy. Ifoxan + Mesna Injection reduces the noxious effects caused by the accumulation of urotoxic compounds, after chemotherapy.

There are usually very few side effects to this drug. However sometimes, patients may experience a bad aftertaste of the medicine and mild nausea or vomiting caused by the bad taste. A rare side effect is an allergic reaction to the drug. It is primarily a safe and effective drug.

Some precautions include not taking aspirins or breastfeeding your baby during the treatment period. It is best to avoid conception of a child as the medicines administered along with Ifoxan + Mesna Injection are potentially risky to unborn children.
