About Empagliflozin

Along with a proper diet and appropriate exercise, Empagliflozin is also recommended as part of a therapeutic routine for treating patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. This drug functions by reducing the amount of glucose taken up by the body, and increasing the amount of sugar excreted by the body through urine. You are recommended to avoid using this medication if you are allergic to any of the components of this medicine, if you have type 1 diabetes, if you have severe renal problems, if you are on dialysis, or if you have extremely high keto levels in your blood and your urine.

This medicine is known to cause fainting, dizziness, or light-headedness; you are advised to sit down at the first sign of these symptoms. Intake of alcohol, excessive exercise, hot weather and the presence of fever could increase these effects.
