Hello, thanks for the query. If taken under proper medical supervision & for proper indication, escitalopram is a very good medication to relive depression & various anxiety disorders. May I know who prescribed you escitalopram & in what dose? what were your problems for which you were advised to take tablet escitalopram; so that I can help you better. Good luck.

All brands from quality pharma companies are good and about the same price. But there are some not so standard pharma s and some duplicate medications which carries the name, but might be a duplicate. All the best

Good evening
cipralex is escitalopram which is a medicine used to treat anxiety and depression. Usually it doesn't have much side effects and it can be prescribed for chronic periods. It's better to get a medical assessment from a qualified medical doctor or a psychiatrist to review the indication and to examine the patient before stopping this medicine

Autism, cerebral palsy, adhd come under one spectrum. They are behavioral disorders. They are not organic disorders (meaning. They cannot be picked up on sonography or any other radiological investigation whatsoever). Behavioral disorders are detected a few months after birth depending upon the developmental milestones. Cipralex comes in category c of fda drugs. Meaning there are not enough studies to come to conclusion. But it is one of the safer drugs in pregnancy.

My psychiatrist doctor recommended me cipralex 10 mg (half tablets on first 4 days, then one full tablet for 6 days and then 20 mg tablet for next 20 days.) for first 4 days with half tablets everything was good, and I started feeling good also, when I took 1 mg tablet for next 3 days it was good, but later on it started decreasing my libido in masturbation. I am not able to masturbate for 3 days (whenever I start masturbation my sperm doesn't come out and i'm unable to reach the orgasm/climax/ejaculation) .and I feel very little sexual attraction. I'm afraid what will happen when I will start 20 mg for whole 20 days from now onwards. Is it normal or should I again consult my psychiatrist doctor. I'm mean do doctors recommend 20 mg cipralex to anyone. My weight is between 78-81. Height 5" 11. Age 23.

Cipralex which contains escitalopram is known to cause decreased libido and delayed ejaculation and at times anorgasmia (absence of orgasm). Yes, psychiatrists do prescribe escitalopram up to 20 mg per day but the benefits and tolerability varies from person to person. In your case you are finding it difficult to tolerate due to side effects, so the best way is to consult a psychiatrist and get it changed to some other medication which doesn't belong to this group i.e ssris (selective serotonin ...more

Nexito (escitalopram) is fine, though try cipralex which is the best form of escitalopram and stop petril. Consult psychiatrist. All the best.

Dear Lybrate user. Although ovunal can have more than one uses. But more commonly it's given to females in case they are unable to conceive. It helps in releasing Ovum from ovaries and increasing the chances of conception. Especially if it's due to deficiency of certain female hormones.
