I am 74 old male and took a trip in Morocco in March end and climbed rough mountain and then I was walking fine for two weeks. After returning back to USA in first week of April. My knee start painful. It is getting better but still I have slight pain on my inside part of knee. If sit too long in chair and then get up I feel stiff knee for very short time and find when start walking. This is lasting for 3 weeks. I am wearing protecting knee brace during day. What should I do to improve my knee strength and reduce or eliminate pain on inside part of my knee. My physician ask me to take knee joint medicine over the counter like "Hyaluronic Joint Complex" which has Glucosamine. I do stretching and some exercises to strength my knee muscles. Do you suggest any exercises. Thanks.

Appears that you might be having Osteoarthritis bouts. Have a check on exercises and medicine. Non weight bearing activity would be recomended also Swimming would be better.

My mother 77 years old, 65 kg, 148 cm suffering from osteo arthritis for last several years. She takes sufficient vitamin d ,calcium, glucosamine ,boswella etc. She's getting regular physiotherapy, still her condition worsening month by month. None of these works. She takes an ayurvedic medicine, locally made. It contains shilajit 25 mg, guggulu 16 mg, vanga bhasma 8 mg, rasa sandu 4 mg, mandir vassa 8 mg, nag vassa 8 mg, lauha vassa 8 mg, maharasnadi karta 100 mg, ashwagandha 80 mg, calcium carbonate 35 mg, calcium phosphate 35 mg, carboxy methyl cellulose 30 mg. Sir, this is the component of a medicine bottle having 40 tablets. It gives little bit relief for her. What's her possible treatment, except knee replacement? Will this ayurvedic product harm her liver or kidney etc? What will reduce her pain?

At advance stage of arthritis none of the medicines and supplement you are giving is going to work. Knee replacement in today era has wonderful result. I have been doing replacement for last 10 years and must have replaced more than 5000 knees.
If she is so disabled get your mothers knee replaced.

I am 38 years old female. I have developed knee prob all of a sudden. I used to stand a lot and was regular with exercise was also lifting weights when I sensed jerk in my knee. So went to orthopedician. Was suggested glucosamine and physiotherapy for wear and tear of my knee and patella was moved as per the doc. After physio it became worse with burning sensation in my leg .also could not find improvement for a month and stopped physio after 7 sessions. Approached other doc now on medication like neuromite forte and one vit d tab. All tests were done everything is normal except with very low cut d. I was going out for exercise earlier but stopped from past 3 months and exercise at home. Should I could a physician. I do not have any gynaecological prob. I met my gynaec. I have anxiety, lack of sleep from past two yrs. What kind of treatment I should opt for?

I am 65 years old plus. I have been suffering from cold fingers hand, cold feet, no tolerance to cold. The problem is on the increase since last 6 years. There have been weight loos of 3 to 4 kegs over last 5 yrs. Now I weigh 63 kegs, height is 170 cm. The sugar levels are also changing, in last 5 years the fasting level has not changed much remains within 93 to 115. The PP levels have changed from 125 now to 178. The HbA1C has gradually increased from 6.3 to now 6.6. Till now I have not been put on any medicine for sugar levels. The Cholesterol is 232, TGL is at105. SGOT, SGPT, VDL, BUN are with in range. The T3 is 0.869, T4 is 4.68, TSH is 2.69. Over last 6 years the face skin has become wrinkled, the peripheral blood flow has become impaired, during winters fingers tend to become blue when exposed. As per your symptoms you have got peripheral vascular disease and in lipid profile report if your ldl cholesterol is above 100 than it is better to start a statin drug and if you r a smoker than we need to stop smoking gradually and do hot fomentation regurarly for your hands and legs and should follow a strict diabetic diet.
