Hi Doctors, I am suffering from typhoid fever, results of widal slide test are salmonella typhi "o" 1: 40 and "h" 1: 40, and as suggested by doctor I have followed medication like having antibiotics, my symptoms before treatment are headache, body pains, fever and loose motions twice a day. Currently I am taking medicine suggested by doctor and like all problems are lost except my digestive system is not working as earlier. Not able to have enough soft food feeling like vomiting but no vomiting. Can you please tell me typhoid cured in my body if not how is the recovery status.

Based on the blood tests you have mentioned, you don't have typhoid at all. The titres you have mentioned are not indicative of typhoid illness. The antibiotics you took must have cured some other bacterial infection, but not typhoid.

Hi, 3 months ago I was diagnosed with salmonella typhi septicemia, after treatment it cured. But after that a problem arises my stool become hard and I feel pain while passing stool. Also, gas is not disposed of properly and sometimes I felt pain in left lower abdomen extended to left testicle. After using softovac powder my stool becomes soft and above problem disappeared but whenever I eat anything little protein-rich foods like non-veg items or ghee or sweets. My stool becomes harder and gas accumulated. I drink every day 4-litre water, also maintain a healthy diet but still, occasional consumption of normal protein-rich foods makes gas in my body. What to do please help, I am fed up with my life. Before typhoid, I never have any gastric problem.

You can try taking more fibres in diet. Means more salad frits and vegetables. Make it a habit to eat small amount of salad in meals it will maintain the finer component which is required for normal stool formation.
Do increase your routine activity through out the day, you have not mention your age but a healthy walk down the street or light to medium excercise yoga will also help to cure the constipation

I'm a 20 year old girl, my height is 5'4" feet and my weight is 40 kg. In january 2022 I got cavity and after that i'm continuously loosing weight, my weight before was 47. I was having ibs symptoms from past one year. I consulted physician in may 2023, they told me to get some tests done. So my ultrasound was normal, chest xray was normal, blood reports and hormones was normal but I was positive for salmonella typhi. So they prescribed some medicine and for some days I gained some weight but now again i'm started loosing weight. What's the problem with me?

My mother is a 75 year old, heart and diabetic patient as she is also suffering from gout she is taking omnacortil 5 mg from last 20-30 yrs. From a month, my mom is suffering from undiagnosed disease first week medicated for viral doctors suggested for couple of test from cbc to typhoid. [ ] in the initial typhoid report (widal slide test) says • salmonella typhi 'o'_ 1: 60 • salmonella typhi 'h'_ absent • salmonella paratyphi 'ah'_ no agglutination • salmonella paratyphi 'bh'_no agglutination in second test • typhi dot igm-negative in between of all this she was having chronic cervical pain. We consulted orthopedic. He prescribed • acenac-mtr twice after food • enzo mac -thrice before food (we did stopped omnacortil for a while) 3rd week no improvement in her condition and joint pains were unbearable. She was constantly feeling nauseated and hardly eat anything so we didn't give one dose. Post that she almost freeze couldn't able to move her knees. So orthopedic prescribed ultracet twice fifth week there was slight improvement but too much weakness and was down with cold and cough. We consulted another doctor and after couple of test (x-ray, cbc) report says • (right paracardiac haziness s/o pneumonitis. Medicine prescribed • montair • prospan • claribid 250 _twice a day • lanol-er _ twice a day • abflo_ twice a day there was an improvement after a week but there was drowsiness weakness swelling of feet and pain. 4th week after consulting physician he changed medicine as her coughing is over lesuride od 75-once in a day lcin 250 -twice a day lanol-ea twice a day supradyn- once a day but she completely lost appetite and so many medicines without food didn't felt right we stopped it for two days and she started eating. We again consulted physician thinking she is fine, but again she started coughing weakness. It looks like never ending illness. We are worried as we still not clear is it pneumonia/respiratory infection or not and how long she will take to recover need suggestions, my mom is really old and seeing her suffering is painful.

Dear sir my son is six years old, his body temperature reach 37.8-38 every night and vomits one time each morning after eating any thing his analysis are normal including cbc. Liver functions, kidney functions, urine and stool analysis, c reactive protein is negative, precipitation rate of rbsc was 5 three weeks ago and now 10 mm/h also u/s for abdominal and pelvic region completely perfect one week ago widdal test reveal salmonella para typhi bh positive 1/320 and undergo specific antibiotic for one week, the vomiting but not the temperature stopped during this period and the vomiting returns again now we waiting the test for h. Pylori thank you very much for your help.

Biovac A is a live attenuated vaccine which is supposed to be equally effective as Havrix 720 which is an inactivated vaccine. Biovac A single dose is enough as per the instructions of manufacturers wheres Havrix needs 2 doses at 6 months interval.
