Excessive mucus production can be due to many causes. Since you have not mentioned anything about the tests that you have undergone, I will advice you to meet a good Chest Specialist. Basic Investigations needs to be done. Depending on the results doctors can take further call on your management. U can give her Antim Tart 30 /3dosrs for one day only. Give her hot drinks, she will like them. Give warm food. Warm clothes.

from what you describe your mother had 3 courses of antibiotics along with steroids and medication to help with her breathing. If her symptoms have significantly reduced, then very little will be achieved by getting an hrct, but if you feel it will put your mind at rest, you may get it done while noting that unnecessary radiation exposure is not good. Hello Lybrate user cough since one month should not be neglected, that too after a course of antibiotics causes can be TB, sinusitis, pleuritic pathology, throath causes, allergies etc
