Quetiapine comes as a tablet and as an extended-release tablet to take by mouth. The tablets are usually taken one to three times a day with or without food. The extended-release tablets are usually taken once a day in the evening without food or with a light meal. Take quetiapine at around the same time (s) every day.

Dear Jigmet, I think we need to review the diagnosis and medicines. Quetiapine 50 mg is a low dose of medication. Also, we do not have information regarding the other medicine. Also, the information provided here seems to suggest a definite problem but to wxactly pin point the details, we need a detailed interview. Meditation will certainly be a useful adjunct to medicines, but the two are not interchangeable and both need to be done properly. I suggest a review of the medicines and diagnosis fo...more

Depends whether it was a sustained relelase / extended release preparation or plain one.
If it was an extended/sustained release preparation then it will lose its effectiveness as long term preparation by crushing it.
So not recommended. (qutan sr)
if it is a plain or immediate release preparation, yes you can crush it.

Dear mam, I am sorry for your loss. It must be a difficult time for you and coping with everything could be quite overwhelming.

Try and build a strong support system as you will need them time and again. Talk to your friends and family about how you are feeling. Take care of yourself. Take out som...more

Dear Harish,
i don't understand your question clearly. But i can understand your doctor's struggle to help you with combination of antidepressants. Your recent symptoms are not due to mirtazapine. Either they are due to withdrawal of quetiapine or your own disorder recurring at this time again. However please discuss clearly with your doctor your concerns.

Quetiapine is an antipsychotic with marked sedative effects. Losing balance may be attributable to quetiapine, but without knowing the full background, I cannot confirm. Pacitane is used to treat tremors induced by drugs or other diseases such as Parkinsons disease. Benfomet is vitamin B1 so it cant cause these symptoms. Please give us full details of your father's condition so that we can help you better. Please bear in mind that excessive sleepiness and dizziness in the elderly is very dangero...more
