As the name suggests, Narcolepsy in Children is a problem that usually affects kids. Here the child would have issues related to sleepiness, which is usually accompanied with hallucinations and vivid dreams. It usually starts off in kids as young as 5 years old. Usually such children don't sleep during the day in their earlier years of toddlerhood.

Diagnosis of Narcolepsy in Children is done by pediatricians by examining the symptoms and through physical examination. A sleep specialist may be referred to for further diagnosis of sleep pattern. A sleep study is conducted to evaluate the sleepiness.
HOW IS NARCOLEPSY IN CHILDREN TREATED?
There is no cure for the condition but the symptoms can be managed. Medication, behavioural modification and awareness will help with the prognosis.
