It is good that you are a vegetarian. Take 2 plates for every meal. Plate no.1 &2. Plate no.1 should contain fruits, raw vegetables, nuts and leaves (edible) weighing a minimum of 1/2 kg. And plate no.2 can be of your choice. The very very important point here is you should first eat food in plate no.1 at first, then you can take plate no.2. Don't worry about the misconception that fruits will increase the blood glucose level. It is only a myth. Take as much fruits as possible. And avoid other artificial sugars, Keep walking and physical exercises. You will see a drastic change in your sugar control within a week.

Self -medication is always dangerous. Stop taking medicines at once. Get the doctor's help if you feel something abnormal in you mental/physical health.

Hi, Does the rise in blood pressure during smoking or consuming other nicotine products is harmful for heart and kidneys, and does long term smoking elevates creatinine and urea levels in blood.

Off course dear Lybrate user. Every cell in our body gets nourished by the oxygen we inhale. When you smoke, you contaminate the oxygen that goes to every cell by mixing tar like- poison produced by nicotine. So not only the heart and kidneys, but also every system in the body gets poisoned.

How to detox my lungs and breath easily for some training (running, climbing etc.) after quitting smoking?

Dear Lybrate user. Once you stop smoking your lungs start purifying themselves. Never get back to smoking. If you want to speed up, learn pranayama from a qualified yoga teacher that will not only purify your lungs but also the whole body systems and mind, if practiced regularly.

For depression which one is better desvenlafaxine 100 mg or mirtazapine 30 mg please suggest me.
Both drugs have their own merits and demerits, though they are given for the same purposes. In some individuals desvenlafaxine works better than mirtazapine and vice versa. It is the Doctor Who observes and chooses the better one for the individual need.

My friend's son aged 43 years is addicted to alcohol & smoking. Recently his intake has become regular and more than normal. My friend is highly disturbed. Is there any remedy which can be given to the addicted boy without bringing it in his knowledge so that he is either cured of addiction or at least reduce intake. Kindly suggest.

No. Without patient's motivation to give up the habit of alcohol, it is not possible. Try to motivate him for a de-addiction program in a professional setting. Though there are some medicines like disulfiram that are being given to the addicted people without their knowledge, sooner or later they find the trick and the problem will only aggravate.

Is it possible to stop taking prodep 20 along with oleanze 2.5 after using 5 years.
Yes. But not all of a sudden. It should be tapered or replaced by other medicines by a psychiatrist only. Otherwise you will find yourself in trouble.

Hi. I feel aggressive, want to scream loudly or hit someone, when I can not accomplish my deadlines. Also I feel numbness or as if ants biting on my feet whenever I confront someone on point of disagreement. I am taking medicines since January 2017 due to depression. My doctor is giving me Quel SR 200 from past 6 months. But still sometimes I feel aggressiveness, sadness and that numbness. What else shud I do to cure myself fully .And My doctor said he will stop all medicines gradually by month of May as I might shift abroad. Is it safe to stop the treatment fully.

Dear Lybrate-user, I do understand how you have been disturbed by your own uncontrollable behaviors. Fortunately you are well aware of that. You do need psycho-social intervention by a psychologist or psychological counselor. You can discuss this with your psychiatrist who can guide in this line.

According to what standards you have decided the minimum or maximum requirements of penis? Try to find answer to this question. No doubt you are travelling on a wrong path. It is not the size of the penis that satisfy a woman sexually, but the firmness of erection, duration of pelvic movement, love and affection on the partner and other psychological and situational factors play crucial role in it. Stop measuring at once and concentrate on other aspects of life. You will feel free from the self-made prison.
