Dear Lybrate user. Since you are diagnosed (as you mentioned) having anxiety and depression disorder at the age 13, you may have to take the tablets prescribed by your doc. For a long time in order to get good results. Every human being has to experience some kind of anxiety/depressive mood, but in your case they exist a little bit higher in degree, that's all. Problems of anxiety/depressive disorders are now-a-days no big deal if properly treated and followed by the patient. Of course the medicines you are taking are good ones, but my suggestion is it is better to have psychotherapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in particular) in order to get better results. Don't lose hope. A combination of psychiatric medicines + Psychotherapy (CBT) + your will power and patience = Best results. Request your psychiatrist to find a Psychotherapist in your nearest locality.

I have smoking problem how should I stop this problem and also my penis is small how to big it.Please suggest me something.

Smoking is not only your problem, but also a global problem. I suggest you some practices to get rid of the habit. But it is only Your Own will power/fortitude/guts, say whatever it is, it will only lead you to success. 1)Announce a particular date (within a week) on which you are going to stop smoking, to all your friends, neighbors, family members etc., 2) Enjoy smoking as much as possible till that date, but with 100% consciousness (just like meditation you should concentrate only at the smoking activity itself). 3)Make some arrangements so that you and your family members, particularly your parents, should be inside your home for a few days(more is better). 4) Be psychologically prepared to face some mood changes like feeling of losing something, thoughts about life without smoking is not possible, even headache, constipation, restlessness etc., all these are withdrawal symptoms and only temporary. Will loose strength day after day. 5)On the particular day close yourself inside home and start meditating (recite the mantra "I WILL NEVER SMOKE EVEN AT THE COST OF MY DEATH' to yourself very strongly and repeatedly). For the next few days do nothing else except this meditation. You will have the positive energy to fight against the habit. And again, it's your strong will power that gives you what you want. Your second question, size of the penis doesn't matter, it matters only the Erection of the penis. Bcs even a two-inche erect penis is sufficient to satisfy a woman sexually. So nothing to worry about it.

I am a 22 years old male. College student. I was shy natured from the beginning but the shyness along with social anxiety has increased in last few years. Along with low self confidence and self esteem. My academic results are fairly good. I just want to change myself. I want to increase my communicational skills and reduce social anxiety. I think because I talk less I have less importance and it stops me from doing what I want to. How to stop these negativity and increase my social skill along with reduction of social anxiety?

It sounds good that you are well aware of your own personality and have taken initiative to change for the better. But it is a gradual process that takes time and efforts with patience. You can find a good counselor in Delhi who can provide proper training in overcoming your shyness and social anxiety, probably by means of a technic called CBT. If you're unable to afford to it, contact me through Lybrate's video counseling mode.

It simply indicates that the same red stain goes into your lungs that poisons your whole body. Stay away from it.

It may be the manifestation of mild PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). It also means that you have not vented out or expressed adequately the emotions related to that particular incident. Talking about it in detail with one who is your well-wisher repeatedly for a few times, may reduce that kind of symptoms.

Dear Lybrate user. Your goal itself seems to be self-contradictory. Doing medicine, but aiming at IAS. Off course, any degree is the qualification, but if you were clear about your goal you might have selected the suitable one in your UG. I mean, if you wanted to become a doctor, mbbs is OK. On the flip side, if you wanted to become an IAS you could have selected any other relevant degree in UG that could save time and energy which could be invested for IAS preparation. I. E, it will take 6 years to become a medical graduate. If you have chosen another 3-year degree, you can clear IAS within the same 6 years. Anyhow, nothing wrong has happened. I just want you to be more clear about where you are going and what your target is. Come through private consultations if you need more help.

You're a lucky fellow to have a mismatch between your bio-psychological make-up and the chemical effects of tobacco smoke. I mean that the ill effects of smoking on you will be 10 times severe than that of other smokers. Stop the habit at once, please.

Everyone starts with little quantity only. But sooner or later the alcohol becomes the master. You may think that you are capable of mastering alcohol. But at times of ups and downs in our lives, our mental strength will be weaker and very vulnerable to be dominated by alcohol. Think before you act.

What you need is Relaxation of body and mind along with paroxetin. This can be achieved by proper learning and regularly practicing pranayama techniques from a good Yoga teacher. Particularly a technique called SECTIONAL BREATHING, and after that NAADISUDDI will give a greater level of relaxation. If you can't find a trainer nearby your location, I will teach you through Lybrate's video counseling, if you are interested.

Nothing to worry about it dear Lybrate user. It is quite natural and normal urge. Try to avoid watching that kind of scenes as far as possible. And if you can't, distract yourself by going out for a walk or have some chat with your family members. You will find your urge to ejaculate reduce in a few minutes. Even if it is not possible, there is no harm in having masturbation once or twice a week.

Relax dear Lybrate user. You have really passed through very painful experiences, of course, because of your own innocence. I mean you were too immature to understand whatever happened to you. There is no need to have the feeling of guilt and shame, because almost every human being has to undergo such kind of experience before marriage, only it varies in degree or intensity, particularly in this modern world. You feel shame and guilt because you're very innocent and good-natured girl which, in my view, the boon for a husband to have a wife like you. No need to forget the past. Bcs they gave you a tremendous amount of valuable lesson for you. Allot time every day to think about it and make fun of yourself but never let know others. These thoughts will vanish on their own accord. Moreover you are preparing yourself for a noble cause -to give Gnana dhana to the needy people (education the highest order of Dhanas). Yes, you have found meaning to live. Keep going. All the best. Call me if you want more from me through Lybrate.

Dear Lybrate user, first of all you have to accept the fact that you have got a sister with multiple disabilities which can't be cured but can be managed well and help her a better life with the help of a specialty called REHABILITATION PSYCHOLOGY/PSYCHIATRY and provide her an assisted living. You may take her to a Rehabilitation center for disabled people in your nearest locality. Our government has provided a number of privileges for people with multiple disabilities. Dear Lybrate user. It is not advisable to stop the medicine you are taking all of a sudden. Instead of curing or managing your problems, it will only aggravate them. If you're not willing to continue or if you want to stop taking it please go to the Doctor Who prescribed it. He/she will gradually taper the dosage and stop it without any unwanted effects, and also replace it some other safer drug that suits you best.

At least a 20- minutes-walk at a stretch regularly will help you relax your skeleto-muscular strain. If you want more effective and specific exercises for your problem, Yoga-suryanamaskar practice and yoga-pranayama practice with ocular physiotherapy will be the best if you learn and practice regularly in order to avoid a number of occupational hazards in future. I am able to teach you all these things, if you are interested you can approach me through video appointments.

He is not ready to visit any doctor in this regards. But we being his parents are worried, So wanted to ask you can we do some treatment without his involvement I.e. We can't bring him for consultation but we can corporate with explaining his full case to you. Will it be possible?

Dear lybrate user, I is good that you are a very concerning parent. Adolescence is a period of stress and turmoil for most of the population because of the sudden hormonal surges, changes in body, social view, unconscious comparison of peer group with many issues and thereby feeling of incompetence/frustration, academic stress etc.,. Just tell him that all of you are on his side and encourage him talk about his problems without hesitation. A caring, understanding and empathetic relationship to share his feelings or problems is need of the hour. You can take help of his friends or teachers also. As you mentioned in your question, you can also take the help from counselors like me through lybrates private consults.

I am 27 years oldhand shivering issue, I don't have smoking or drinking habits, how can I cure it & what types of medicine can I take.

M.Sc - Applied Psychology, P.G.Dip.in Guidance &Counselling, B.A., Psychology, Dip.in Pharmacy
Psychologist, Madurai
Shivering of hands may have a root cause in neurological problems or psychological problems like anxiety disorder, chronic stress etc. And most of the cases are psychogenic. The first thing you have to do is to stop observing or testing your hands for any shivering now and then. In fact, everybody's hands are subject to shiver while stretched and held for a few minutes. If you keep observing or testing with your hands, certainly the problem will increase. Once you stop testing it the problem will disappear on its own accord. You can contact me through Lybrate if you want further help.

After mutual agreement me and my boyfriend broke up. Now I am experience mood swings like anything. I feel like I need to fight with someone. I get into useless arguments, I started shouting. I was a calm ,polite and wise person but now i'm becoming stupid day by day, politeness has gone somewhere. I am not sad but these mood swings like sometimes I get angry sometimes I feel lonely sometimes I cry .i do not know whats happening with me please help.

M.Sc - Applied Psychology, P.G.Dip.in Guidance &Counselling, B.A., Psychology, Dip.in Pharmacy
Psychologist, Madurai
Relax dear Lybrate user. I can understand the intensity of pain caused by losing a loved one. In your case I think it is the ego clash between you and your boyfriend is playing a vital role. I mean you are not willing to breakup the relationship with him unconsciously but due some superficial and tiny matters you have agreed to lose his relationship consciously. This state of mind may lead you to depression. My suggestion is "BE IN THE MIDDLE" I mean maintain a healthy relationship with him, not so deep and not so far. Never give up a relationship all of a sudden. Keep in touch with him until you get a new one. Who knows the same person may be having the same state of mind as you are in.

Relax dear Lybrate user. your problem is not your underweight or looking puny. It is your thought/belief that looking puny is not recognized by the Society and unhealthy to oneself which in turn makes you feel anxious or depressed causing physical symptoms like suffocating in the crowd. Have you ever seen people with physical disabilities? without hands, legs, eyes etc.,. By changing your negative thoughts or attitude about your own physique you can lead a happier life. CONCENTRATE (AND THANK GOD FOR) ON WHATEVER YOU HAVE INSTEAD OF WHAT YOU DONT HAVE.

Hi, I had a sex with a girl 8-8.5 years ago and right now I am 33 years old and happily married. I had a 4.5 year old son. I was remembering something and suddenly this thing comes to my mind that I had a paid sex 8 years back. I stressed with a thing that I might get some disease from this like hiv etc. I am feeling myself fit and fine right now. I have seen my wife pregnancy 4-4.5 year old reports and she was hiv negative at that point. I didn't have any sex with anyone except my wife from last 8-9 years. Is it a psychological issue which is harming me and I am taking unnecessary stress.

Yes dear Lybrate user. It is a psychological problem. The only way to get out of this problem is to get your blood checked for HIV antibodies. You can get it done in any GH or standardized clinical labs in your nearby location. Otherwise this thought will always be torturing you.
