Phosphate is usually measured in urine test, it is a sample collected within 24 hours. It is a part of our body which helps in repairing and building our muscles, bones and reconstruct which helps the nervous system to function. The main function of phosphorus is the kidney; it removes and filters the urine that passes through our body. However low level of phosphate might have been the cause of underactive parathyroid gland or kidney, liver diseases, or may be severe malnutrition.
