CT Scan - Guided Pleural Tapping Health Feed

Hi, I have a right side recurrent pleural effusion. My doctor inserted a chest tube but still fluid re stored after draining. What should I do?

Pleural effusions in patients with multiple myeloma result from different aetiologies, each requiring a different type of treatment. Due to the important therapeutic and prognostic implications of finding a myelomatous pleural effusion, diagnostic throracocentesis with careful cytological examination and protein electrophoresis with immunofixation should be performed whenever possible. Supplemental studies with flow cytometry and cytogenetics should also be considered.

It means that bacteria that cause tb (mycobacterium tuberculosis) were not detected in his chest fluid. In other words, he does not have tb however, any chest infection potentially affects children more easily and in a worse manner. It might be good to keep grandparent and child separate for some time. Having said that, 1. Children less than 5 years are at increased risk 2. After antibiotics are given once, spread of infection decreases.

A minor pleural effusion often goes away on its own without treatment. In other cases, doctors may need to treat the condition that is causing the pleural effusion. ... Pleural effusion can also be treated by removing fluid from the pleural space. This may help relieve symptoms, such as shortness of breath and chest pain.

Is pericardial effusion leads to cancer? Im under medical treatment for tb pericardial effusion. Some says pericardial effusion is symptoms of lungs cancer.

In few cases pericardial effusion can be because of cancer but that is much less common compared to tuberculosis.
