No, you can’t donate blood. As they will check your hb first. As it’s below 12, they will not take blood from You. Yes, you can take iron tablets. Foods rich in iron some of the best plant sources of iron are: beans and lentils tofu baked potatoes cashews dark chocolate pumpkin seeds watermelon, potato, apple, beetroot, pomegranate, strawberries dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli nonveg sources lean beef oysters chicken turkey eat a balanced, healthy diet that includes good sources of iron to prevent any deficiencies. Combine vegetarian sources of iron with vitamin c in the same meal.

Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease - Understand In Detail About It!
In healthy individuals, the liver contains little or no fat. In overweight or obese people, gradual fat accumulation leads to significant liver disease. Interestingly, these individuals may be consuming minimal to no alcohol. So, alcohol, which is the main cause of liver damage, does not have a significant role to play.

The non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has 4 significant stages as outlined below. It is a chronically progressive disease and may take years to reach the final stages of cirrhosis and fibrosis.

1. Simple fatty liver (steatosis): This is usually identified when diagnostic tests are done for some other suspected conditions. There are usually no symptoms obvious in this stage, other than the buildup of fat in the liver.

2. Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH): The second stage where the liver is inflamed to a greater extent due to fat accumulation.

3. Fibrosis: The next degree of inflammation where blood vessels may be narrowed leading to scarring in the liver with impaired liver functions.

4. Cirrhosis: This is the most severe stage that occurs due to years of cumulative inflammation. The liver shrinks in size is scarred, and liver functions are markedly impaired and can also result in liver cancer.

Risk factors for NAFLD: The exact reason why a person develops NAFLD is not established, but some of the risk factors include-

1. Obesity, with more weight concentrated around the abdomen

2. Type 2 diabetes

3. High blood pressure

4. High cholesterol levels

5. Age greater than 50

6. Smoking

Symptoms: This will depend on the stage in which it is identified. While there are no symptoms in the early stages, in some people there could be a dull, aching below the ribs, unexplained weight loss, weakness, and extreme tiredness. As it progresses to cirrhosis, there could be jaundice, fluid accumulation in the abdomen and feet, and itching of the skin.

Management: While there is no treatment aimed at curing the disease per se, there are ways to manage the symptoms, as noted below.

1. Weight loss: Reducing excess accumulated fat will help reverse symptoms and prevent further progression of the disease. A BMI of 18 to 26 is considered optimal.

2. Dietary changes: Modify your diet to a carbohydrates and protein rich and reduced fats and sugars. Increasing fiber through fruits and vegetables is highly recommended.

3. Exercise: Whatever your choice of workout, it will do wonders for NAFLD. Keep a target of an hour or two of moderate to intense exercise per day to reduce weight.

4. Smoking: This is another risk factor and can also help prevent other effects of NAFLD such as diabetes and heart disease.

NAFLD is highly controllable with these changes and other damages can be reversed too.

Hemoglobin is a protein which transports oxygen to every cell of the body. It is formed by globulin chain molecules, wherein adults have two alpha-globulin chains and two beta-globulin chains and infants or babies have two alpha chains and two gamma chains. The gamma globulin chains transform into beta chains as the development in the baby occurs.

How can you improve your hemoglobin level?
Following are most the effective measures to improve hemoglobin level:

Iron is necessary for hemoglobin production and red cell production. Thereby, intake of food which contains iron in excess amount needs to be taken, such as shellfish, beef, broccoli, tofu, spinach, green beans, cabbage, dates, beetroot, almonds, oysters, and asparagus etc.
Folate is also very important for hemoglobin production. It produces heme portion of RBC s. Thereby, intake of foods which are a rich source of folate should be incorporated, such as beef, spinach, black-eyed peas, avocado, lettuce, rice, kidney beans, peanuts etc.
Intake of vitamin C should be increased in cases of vitamin C deficiency as it helps in iron absorption from the stomach. Foods which are rich in vitamin C like papaya, oranges, lemon, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, grapefruit, tomatoes, and spinach should be included in your diet. Also, you can take vitamin C supplements as per your doctor s advice.
Regular intake of some fruits in diet will also help you to increase the hemoglobin. Foods such as pomegranate, apple, watermelon will help in to improve hemoglobin count as they are a rich source of iron.
Doing regular exercise will also help to improve to increases hemoglobin, and red blood cell counts. While exercising your body needs more amount of oxygen, and in order to compensate that body increases production of red blood cells.
Do not take calcium supplements along with iron supplements as calcium hampers absorption of the iron, and also avoid taking calcium-rich food.
All types of Legumes are best to plant foods, enriched with iron. Legumes, such as soy nuts, red kidney beans, chickpeas, black-eyed peas, black beans, lentils, fava beans should be incorporated in the diet.
Avoid intake of drinks which blocks iron absorption, and slow down its absorption like tea, coffee, cola drinks, wine, and beer. Excessive intake of all these drinks ultimately leads to low hemoglobin level.
Drink nettle tea. Nettle is an herb which is a good source of iron, vitamin C and helps in raising hemoglobin level.
Eat pumpkin seeds daily as their intake not only improves iron production, but also provides omega-3 fatty acids, and zinc.
Increase the intake of iron-rich foods during, and after a menstrual period as a large amount of iron is lost during menstruation.
Regular intake of iron and folate supplements only in deficient cases is the best way to improve your hemoglobin level. But it should be taken under doctor s advice.

Take proper treatment. Avoid non veg, fatty food. also milk and milk products. drink warm water. take only vegetables soup. take Arogyavardhni vat 2 twice daily. take dadimasthak churna 1 tsp twice daily.

Jaundice is a medical condition, which is characterized by the yellow coloring of the skin and eyes. It generally occurs when there is an excess of bilirubin in your system. Bilirubin is a yellow pigment formed in the liver by the breakdown of red blood cells. It normally gets discharged by the liver along with other dead red blood cells. So if you are suffering from jaundice, it usually indicates that you have some serious problems regarding the functioning of your liver, pancreas, or gallbladder.

Signs and symptoms:
Signs and symptoms commonly associated with jaundice include:

Yellow-tinted eyes and skin
The whites of your eyes may turn orange or brown in color
Dark urine
Pale stools
High fatigue and vomiting (in severe cases)
Causes:
Jaundice, as mentioned above, occurs when there is an excess of bilirubin and the liver is incapable of metabolizing it along with the old red blood cells. It is more common in infants than in adults, because their livers are not fully developed. However, it is also a frequent occurrence in adults and could be a potential sign of any of the following problems:



Liver infection
Scarring of the liver, or cirrhosis
Hepatitis
Alcohol abuse
Liver cancer
Gallstones
Pancreatic cancer

Liver function tests in order to make comparisons between levels of certain proteins and enzymes when the liver is in good shape and when it is damaged.
Liver biopsies, where samples of liver tissue are first extracted and later examined under a microscope.
Imaging studies, consisting of abdominal ultrasounds, computed tomography scans and magnetic resonance images (MRI) tests.

हमारे शरीर में लगभग 70 प्रतिशत पानी है. इस पानी का ज्यादातर हिस्सा हमारे शरीर में खून के रूप में उपस्थित है. रक्त ही हमारे शरीर में वो महत्वपूर्ण माध्यम है जो कई जरुरी पोषक तत्वों और कई अन्य चीजों को विभिन्न अंगों तक पहुँचाने का काम करता है. यदि खून न हो हो या खून की कमी हो जाए तो हमारे शरीर में कई तरह की समस्याएं उत्पन्न होने लगेंगी. हिमोग्लोबिन, हमारे शरीर में मौजूद रक्त का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण भाग है. हमारे शरीर में कई खनिज पाए जाते हैं. आयरन उनमें से ही एक है.

आयरन का काम है हमारे शरीर में लाल रक्त कोशिकाओं का निर्माण करना. लाल रक्त कोशिकाएं हिमोग्लोबिन का निर्माण करती हैं. हिमोग्लोबिन हमारे शरीर में प्राण वायु ऑक्सिजन को फेफड़ों से लेकर हमारे खून में पहुंचाता है. फिर रक्त में संचरण करते हुए ऑक्सिजन शरीर के अन्य हिस्सों में जाता है. लेकिन जब हमारे शरीर में आयरन की कमी होती है तब लाल रक्त कोशिकाओं के उत्पादन में कमी आती है और इससे हिमोग्लोबिन में भी कमी आ जाती है. इस अवस्था में हमारे शरीर में ऑक्सिजन की भी कमी हो जाती है जिसे हम एनीमिया या खून की कमी कहते हैं. इसमें हमें थाकान और कमजोरी महसूस होने लगता है.

एनीमिया के लक्षण-

थकान होना
त्वचा का पीला पड़ना
आंखों के नीचे काले घेरे
चक्कर आना
सीने में दर्द
लगातार सिर में दर्द
तलवे और हथेलियों का ठंडा पड़ना
शरीर में तापमान की कमी

कौन होता है आसानी से इसका शिकार?
यदि ध्यान न रखा जाए तो प्राकृतिक कारणों से महिलाएं इसकी आसान शिकार बन जाती हैं. दरअसल पीरियड्स और गर्भावस्था के दौरान महिलाओं के शरीर में प्राकृतिक रूप से कई ऐसे परिवर्तन होते हैं जिनसे महिलाओं में एनीमिया जैसी स्थिति उत्पन्न हो जाती है. गर्भावस्था के दौरान शरीर को अधिक मात्रा में विटामिन, मिनरल व फाइबर आदि की आवश्यकता होती है. जबकि इस दौरान रक्त में लौह तत्वों की कमी होने से शारीरिक दुर्बलता बढ़ सकती है. जबकि पीरियड्स के दौरान खून ज्यादा निकल जाने के कारण भी एनीमिया की आशंका बढ़ जाती है. स्तनपान कराने वाली माताओं को भी एनीमिया होने का खतरा रहता है. लड़कियों में अक्सर डाइटिंग का क्रेज देखने को मिलता है. वजन कम करने के लिए डाइटिंग कर रही लड़कियां भी इसकी शिकार हो सकती हैं. कुछ अन्य कारणों से भी महिलाओं या पुरुषों में हो सकता है जैस पाइल्स या अल्सर के कारण भी एनीमिया हो सकता है. अब तो पर्यावरण में मौजूद हानिकारक तत्व भी एनीमिया का कारण बन रहे हैं.

बचने के उपाय-
एनीमिया अपने आप में कोई बिमारी नहीं है बल्कि इसके कारण कई अन्य बीमारियाँ हो सकतीं हैं. इस समस्या को जड़ से खत्म करने के लिए संतुलित और पोषक तत्वों से भरपूर डाइट लेना अत्यंत आवश्यक है. इसको ठीक होने में कम से कम छह महीने का समय लगता है. यदि आप एनीमिया से बचना चाहते हैं तो आपको मांस, अंडा, मछली, किशमिश, सूखी खुबानी, हरी बीन्स, पालक और हरी पत्तेदार सब्जियां जैसे आयरन से परिपूर्ण आहार आदि का सेवन अवश्य करना चाहिए. आयरन युक्त आहार तभी प्रभावी है जब उसके साथ विटामिन सी का भी सेवन किया जाता है. विटामिन-सी के लिए अमरूद, आंवला और संतरे का जूस लें.

इन आहारों से होती है खून में वृद्धि-
कई ऐसे खाद्य पदार्थ हैं जिनका इस्तेमाल रक्तवर्धन के लिए किया जा सकता है. इनके इस्तेमाल से भी आप एनीमिया के जोखिम को कम कर सकते हैं.
1. चुकंदर - यह आयरन का अच्छा स्त्रोत है. इसको रोज खाने में सलाद या सब्जी के तौर पर शामिल करने से शरीर में खून की कमी नहीं होती.

2. हरी पत्तेदार सब्जी - पालक, ब्रोकोली, पत्तागोभी, गोभी, शलजम और शकरकंद जैसी सब्जियां सेहत के लिए बहुत अच्छी होती हैं. वजन कम होने के साथ खून भी बढ़ता है. पेट भी ठीक रहता है.

3. सूखे मेवे - खजूर, बादाम और किशमिश का खूब प्रयोग करना चाहिए. इसमें आयरन की पर्याप्त मात्रा होती है.

4. फल - खजूर, तरबूज, सेब, अंगूर, किशमिश और अनार खाने से खून बढ़ता है. अनार खाना एनीमिया में काफी फायदा करता है. प्रतिदिन अनार का सेवन करें.

No there are no major side effects of glutathione. It is just that it is just temporary. Once you stop taking them. There are chances of skin coming back to previous situtation. Take a multivitamin tablet with glutathione.
