Example I have red eyes for three days what should I do? (I am asking as I will get balance from earn talktime)
Hello dear there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc. 1. Redness + itching: allergy 2. Redness + pain+ watering + decreased vision: infection 3. Redness + pain: inflammation 4. Redness+ foreign body sensation: dryness if there is only redness then it is normal as slight exposure to dust, temperature or air or eyes may be red in morning. Stress may also cause redness. I usually do not treat when there is only redness, you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eyedrop like flogel these measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but it will not have any effect on redness (treating generalredness alone is not necessary also) having said that you should consult local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment.

Don't put water in the eyes it will change the constitution of tears. Just give icecold water splashes over closed eyes. Lubricant drops will help you if vision is clear it is ok otherwise go to refractionist for glasses prescription.

I have keratoconus in my both eyes, I did my C3R 3 years back. But still my disease is progressing. What should I do now? Should I go for holcomb C3R being done by Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler in USA?

General Physician,
I have keratoconus in my both eyes, I did my C3R 3 years back. But still my disease is progressing.
What should I do ...
Keratoconus is a slow, progressive eye disease in which the normally round, dome shaped cornea (the clear outer front portion of the eye) thins and begins to bulge into a cone-like shape. This cone shape is irregular, bending light as it enters the eye.Cornea Collagen Crosslinking appears to represent one of the most important advances in ophthalmology in the last decade. The laboratory and clinical studies indicate a safe, effective, and elegant treatment for keratoconus. and you can definitely do it and will hlep

The solution for this problem is its reduced usage and while using computor/mobile use in proper light. There is nothing more effective than controlling usage to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the computor /mobile screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. Above all, one must try to reduce the amount of computor /mobile usage or take frequent breaks.---------------- homoeopathic medicine-------------------- cinelube eye drops (hapdco) pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

Hello, well lybrate-user glasses are a remedy to your poor eyesight so to detest them is not a very good idea. There is no medications available which can remove glasses. Ok if you do not want to wear glasses, you can go for contact lenses, but with all proper precautions and hygiene. As far as surgical removal of spectacles is concerned, you can opt for lasik if your number is stable for last 6 months. Take a balanced diet with more green vegetables and fruits and if convenient a multivitamin supplement. Take care.

Watering of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. (6) refractive error: change of the power of the glasses, or, if not using glasses beforehand-you might be in the need for glasses. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. You should also get your eye power tested. Maybe you might require glasses. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care,

I am male old 19 years my eye is very red and no itself but very red please my help?
Hello lybrate-user. Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. Let me enumerate them in brief:(1) allergy (2) infections better known as conjunctivitis. They occur along with discharge and watering. (3) foreign body stuck in the eye. Occurs in people who have a lot of driving and traveling. (4) inflammation of the coat of the eye. Better known as uveitis. (5) raised intraocular pressure. This occurs along with pain. Usually there is associated family history of raised pressure in parents or grandparents. (6) raised blood pressure. Better known as sub conjunctival hemorrhage. Thus, from all the fore mentioned reasons, by far the most common cause is allergy. It occurs due to improper eye hygiene and repeated rubbing of eyes with fingers, clothes, handkerchief, etc. A good idea would be to identify the category that you fall under and treat it accordingly. Most probably, it would be due to allergy in your case. Still, better safe than sorry. Get your eyes examined in person by an eye specialist. Let me know when further assistance required. Take care. Regards.

You have something called as computer vision syndrome. So take frequent breaks while you are working every 20-25 mins take break to look away from screen blink more frequently' level of screen should be below the level of eyes ac should not blow directly on your face. Also get your eyes checked for any spectacle power.

1) Is flashlight close to only one eye for long will cause visual impairment in one eye? And in future can it cause lazy eye. 2) I have done that with my" right" eye. Few days ago I used to keep my smartphone camera very close to my eye for long time more than 10 mins to check I have squint or not. Actually i'm in physiological problem. 3) Then I check my both eyes from retina surgeon. According to him my both retinas are normal there is no damage. 4) after that I closed doing such is stupid things. But now when I close my left eye and see with right eye only I see things little blurry not to much but its noticeable. When I see things at far distance with my right eye only it is more blurry than near images. Can this lead to lazy eye in future? How can I treat it?

Hello lybrate-user. Flashlight exposure for prolonged duration may cause light induced photo-toxicity. The severity of this photo-toxicity varies with the duration. I would suggest you not to worry much because your eyes have already been assessed by a retinal surgeon. In case you feel that there is persistent problem, get a repeat check up done. Also, lazy eye does not occur in adults. It tends to occur in young children who have some sort of visual stimulus deprivation. All said and done, get a repeat retina evaluation done to resolve your doubt. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care-regards

Pain is unusual in eyes. You need to make sure that vision is not affected. You need to visit eye surgeon to rule out any vision threatening problem.

Hi. Night blindness is a condition that makes it difficult to see in low light. The human eye got a very sophisticated system which can function from very dark to very bright light. But in the case of night blindness, the eyes fails to adapt to darkness. Night blindness can be an early sign of vitamin A deficiency, often the result of a diet lacking in vegetables containing beta-carotene, which the body can make into vitamin A. A lack of zinc can reduce retinol dehydrogenase, an enzyme needed to help vitamin A work in the eye. Zinc helps night blindness in those who are zinc-deficient. Most people don’t get enough zinc in their diets. Vitamin A is found naturally in many foods: cod liver oil, liver, sweet potato, carrot, broccoli, butter, kale, spinach, pumpkin, Cheddar cheese, egg, apricot, papaya, mango, pea, milk, tomatoes, seaweed.
