Dear lybrate-user don't get disheartened sometime in spite of no cause a couple may take time in conceiving naturally, as stress, diet and lifestyle are also factors which affects fertility. Since all your reports are fine, you should try for 3-4 month more during your fertile days i. E ovulation time and follow a healthy lifestyle and take diet including lots of fruits and salad. Quit coffee and fried food. Do some regular exercise or workout, so that your cycle will be regular and fertility will increase. Still if not able to conceive then get both of you fully investigated and ultrasound done and consult gyne for help.

You are risking your health, in my opinion. You should get yourself measured for hypertension every month. If your reading is below 130/85 mmgg exercises and good diet should be maintained without medicines. If it is above 130/85 mmgg, you should continue take minimum dose of hypertension medicine. Hypertension is called a silent killer. It will never create a problem for you in the short period. But in long term, continuous hypertension can cause kidney, heart related problems. Consult a physician immediately.

My only son (9 Yr) is now a student of Class IV in a School at semi-urban area with his mother along with one of my relatives family (4 members) separately. I am working in other place away from them and attending week end / holidays. My wife is looking after every thing. She is efficient, accommodative, and is teaching child. At home have no TV connection. Child is (i) very arrogant and is not intending to study; (ii) eating too much, health is good; (iii) talkative other than study matter; (iv) mobile, computer may be handled quickly and can practice any play without any target; (v) has ability to grasp any songs/music; (vi) during study period he can grow different reasons to away from the class. Because of him my family peace is going away from home. My wife is becoming unrest for him. School is not far away, five minutes by walk.

Seems like he is a highly intelligent child but not in the academic sense and is showing signs of emotional disturbances. He has probably entered puberty at an early age. The other thing is whether he has had any developmental problems earlier that are beginning to surface looking for a resolution. These could also have an impact on these observations of yours. Kindly meet with the school counselor, and if they do not have one, then perhaps a child counselor will suffice. A change of house around the age of 9 has also been reported to disturb some kids. Is he allowed to play organized games either at school or at home? Exercise and games will exhaust the excess energy that may help him calm down for school pursuits. I feel that a tutor may be useful to help him settle with his studies. Keep in touch with his teachers to know what their feedback is and work with them as to how to help him. No TV may be a problem for him. Have the TV but discipline him around it. Your absence, especially at his age, is probably affecting some of his rebelliousness. Sometimes too much parental strictness only invites rebelliousness at this age. Do not allow excess eating: not only is that a health hazard but it is also making him compensate by oral gratification and the obesity may become difficult for him to lead an active life. Now the brief time that you come over on the weekends cannot be all spent in reprimanding him either, but besides that, do spend quality time with him as much as you can. Your wife cannot be both father and mother, at the same time.

Yes, beer is good for health if you have 40 ml on daily basis. This will act like a medicine. This will increase your immune system and boost up your body and mind. Cigarette is more harmful than hookha so avoid hookah.

Your brain is like a muscle. You need to exercise it regularly. The exciting thing is that you don’t have to be a millionaire to increase your brain capacity. All you need to do is invest a little time to regularly train your brain. So what can you do? Here are 10 simple ways you can increase your brain power and improve your intelligence! 1. Do something new When you experience something ‘new’ you actually ‘stimulate’ your brain! Don’t get stuck in a rut doing the same old things – the only way to change the structure of your brain is to do something new. This creates new neural pathways, increasing your intelligence. You could take a new route to work, try a new recipe for dinner, or even a new form of exercise – mix it up! 2. Exercise regularly It’s been proven that regular exercise helps to increase brain function and enhances neurogenesis. This means that every time you exercise you are creating new brain cells! Get off the couch and get moving! Your brain will thank you for it :) 3. Train your memory How often do you hear people say “I wish I had a better memory?’ Yet no-one does anything about this! If you discipline yourself to memorise phone numbers and other important numbers (passport, credit card, insurance, driving license) you will start to see a marked improvement in your memory 4. Be curious Instead of taking everything at face value, get into the habit of questioning everyday things/products, services that you come into contact with. By being ‘curious’ and questioning everything, you force your brain to innovate & create new ideas. Curiosity may have killed that cat, more importantly it created super important things like electricity and computers! 5. Think positive Stress & anxiety kill existing brain neurons and also stop new neurons from being created. Try and get a handle on negative thoughts and make an effort to replace them with positive ones. 6. Eat healthy Our diets have a HUGE impact on brain function. Our brains consume over 20% of all nutrients & oxygen that we consume – so remember to feed your brain with the good stuff! (i.e. Fresh fruit and veg & plenty of OMEGA 3 oils found in oily fish) 7. Read a book Reading relieves tension & stress (brain-cell killers) because it’s a form of escapism. Research has also shown that using your imagination is a great way to train your brain because you force your mind to ‘picture’ what you are imagining. Reading is a great way to trigger your imagination! 8. Get enough sleep Sleep is like a mini detox for the brain. This is when your body regenerates cells and removes all the toxins that have built up during the day. Get to bed between the hours of 9 pm and midnight to benefit from the most effective hours of sleep! 9. Avoid using the GPS Gone are the days of map reading! Geo Satellite Navigation may have made our lives easier, it has also made our brains lazier and less efficient at the same time! Go back to the old school and use a map to navigate every now and then (this exercises the part of your brain responsible for understanding spatial relationships). 10. Stop Using the calculator Remember back at school when we were taught to use our brains to do simple sums like times tables? It’s incredible how we now rely on devices like smart-phones and laptops to calculate really simple equations. Resist the urge to work things out using an external device – and use the device you were born with – your brain!

Dear Vaseem, at your age, Memory problems like amnesia, dementia or Alzheimer's are not common. Many young people do complain having problems with memory. These problems are due to either they are too busy or due to anxiety and stress. Busy people use organizers or employ a personal assistant because they can't remember every task. You need to understand this. If you still say, you are having memory problems, we need to check your memory using memory test. You may contact a clinical psychologist or neurologist for memory test and further investigation. Take care.

Rivotril will only manage your physical complaints of anxiety and at your age it might have cognitive slowing causing memory issues. If you are depressed then the treatment would be to deal with the thought process and medications pertaining to it will be beneficial. For that it is advisable to consult a psychiatrist.

It is absolutely wrong and not advisable to take any antidepressants without consulting a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist. This is just because it may do more harm than good. Certain antidepressants may precipitate bipolar mania, psychosis, electrolyte disturbances, or even epileptic fits if taken in conditions which are contraindicated. So it would be a humble suggestion to avoid any such feats.

You have to quit cold turkey because the body and mind will torture you endlessly while attempting a reduction in smoking. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged on. But don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. I don’t know what other organs could be damaged but do go for a thorough medical check-up to assess the effects of your abuse. Regarding improving your lungs, do a lot of aerobic exercise breathing through your nostrils only. Then there are a lot of deep breathing exercises in Yoga which you can learn too. Deep breathing cleanses your system and lungs and restores it to good health. Deep breathing uses the 80% of the lungs which are not normally used in normal breathing and even when exerting yourself. The greatest effect is in the lungs because this substance is processed through the respiratory system directly through the lung surface. When quitting, you must take one day at a time; though you must give up all smoking at once, and promptly. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So even if you fail one day, you must try and try again. Very few people succeed in their first attempt. Your persistence will eventually pay off. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact, these conditions can exist all through the day, unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing the habit. The information is really scary but true and you must remind yourself about this every day. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heartbeat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact, it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chew gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i. E. At least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest. You could also join twitter2quit program and enjoy its success to give up smoking.
