Can someone with a single kidney by birth and gall bladder removed due to stones. Still have a normal life.? Have healthy kids without complications and all.

BHMS, Certified in Aesthetic Skin Treatments, Certified in Applied Behaviour Analysis
Homeopath, Mumbai
Most people who are born without a kidney (or with only one working kidney) lead normal, healthy lives. First of all it's important to realize that you developed a gallbladder problem in the first place because you had an unhealthy liver. If your liver is not healthy, it will make poor quality bile. The bile will be prone to forming sludge and stones. Obviously you can survive without a gallbladder, but you are more prone to developing certain health problems. Your liver continues to manufacture bile, but there is no longer a place to store it or concentrate it. Therefore bile continually slowly trickles into the intestines. If you eat a fatty meal, you will not be able to secrete a large enough amount of bile into your intestines, therefore the fat will be poorly digested. This means many people experience diarrhea, bloating, nausea or indigestion. These symptoms can be treated with homeopathic medicines. Important note: Every case calls for detailed study of the patient individually. There are no disease specific medicines in homeopathy. The exact treatment is determined only on "in-depth" evaluation of the individual case. It is advised not to indulge in any kind of self-medication. Kindly contact me in private for further consultation. Your feedback matters. Thankyou.

Two nos. Of Gall stones of 2 mm size were found in abdomen scanning. Is treatment available? If yes, prescribe medicine and dosage.

DM - Gastroenterology, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS

Hello, treatment of gall stones depends on presence or absence of pain. If they are causing pain, surgery is the treatment of choice. Medical treatment is not effective. Size and number of stones is not a criterion for treatment.

I have a stone in my gallbladder so doctor please tell me the best solution for this and also some exercise and diet chart?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Delhi
It can be cured but not only with homeopathic medicines, you need to take medicines that can help in removing them naturally such as our medicines combination of herbal and homeo that will help in removing stones via motion passage. Gall bladder gets diseased due to an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. This leads to an imbalance of the acid-alkali balance in the body which causes the cholesterol to precipitate in the gall bladder leading to stone formation. Over time, these may get infected and lead to an acute inflammation, pain, fever etc. A stone may move ahead into a narrow passage or the duct and get stuck leading to severe agony. The safest and way that should be used to remove gall stones is removing it naturally, not just remove gall stones from gall bladder but also remove the cause of gall stones.

What will be the condition of a patient after distal gastrectomy due to his gastric carcinoma.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Complications of post-gastrectomy syndrome include anemia as a result of vitamin b12 or iron malabsorption and osteoporosis. These problems generally occur months or even years after gastric surgery. Vitamin b12 malabsorption occurs when a protein known as intrinsic factor is either not produced by the stomach (this is a condition called pernicious anemia) or when the proximal stomach is resected (the portion of the stomach that produces intrinsic factor). In either case, that absence of intrinsic factor leads to the poor absorption of vitamin b12. Under normal circumstances intrinsic factor binds to vitamin b12 and assists with the absorption of this vitamin in the lower portion of the small bowel. When vitamin b12 is poorly absorbed, anemia and, in some cases, poor nerve function can occur. This generally does not happen for several years because vitamin b12 is stored in large amounts in the liver. Iron deficiency anemia develops because removal of the stomach often leads to a marked decrease in the production of gastric acid. This acid is necessary to convert dietary iron to a form that is more readily absorbed in the duodenum. Anemia usually does not occur for a few years after gastric surgery because iron is stored in moderately large amounts in the bone marrow, where red blood cells are produced. Osteoporosis develops as a result of poor calcium absorption, another problem that occurs after gastric surgery.
