I am 25 years old Male, I have been smoking for 3 years. For past 2 weeks I have been spitting little blood once in a week and sour throat. I do not cough or have any breathing problem What may cause it?

MBBS, DPM
Psychiatrist, Bangalore
Dear lybrate-user, Spitting blood and sore throat can be cause by many conditions. Of course, it can very well be due to smoking for 3 yrs. Why don't you stop smoking and check, if you stop spitting blood and your throat is clear? Please plan to quit smoking at the earliest. Take these symptoms as a blessing in disguise for you to stop smoking at 25 itself.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi. Bronchitis/ Asthma can be treated with homoeopathic medicines completely, only need to be regular with the medication and avoid those foods/ things to which you are allergic to for sometime. Keep taking your already on going medication, reduce it gradually and slowly once homoeopathic starts acting. Take Bakson's Astha-Aid drops/ 10-15 drops in 1/2 cup water/ thrice d day for 1 month. Report me back after a month.

My asthma has not been under control for nearly 2 months. Am I having COPD or is it just asthma?

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
If there is no history of asthma in past years and no allergy is involved, rather history of chronic smoking and bronchitis is there, it could be copd. Nebulization or asthalin or some steroid inhaler may be required for you depending on the conditions and provided no smoking is there.

I have coughs from one month. I treated but no better results found. What's reasons.

DAA, DNB
Pulmonologist, Bangalore
Hi. I understand your concerns. Since your cough is there for more than 2 weeks it would be advisable for you to undergo a chest x ray. It could be infectionor bronchitis. If x ray is normal no need to worry about infection. So better see a pulmonologist as you will need a detailed evaluation. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.
