Dear Doctor My wife was pregnant from last 13 weeks and 4 days with crl 7.4 cm with increased NT 2.9 mm So please give me suggestion.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Although NT appears near the higher side of normal, the risk of problem is less, unless associated with absent nasal bone and other anomalies. You should go for simultaneous blood tests like PAPP-A and hcg for confirmation and also repeat the scan at another centre better trained in fetal scanning within 14 weeks.

I am 22 years old, have pcod. My regular cycle date was 18 sep 2016 ,that day I had intercourse. And it's 20th Sep do not have my periods. And the semen was slight inside rest outside, should I take ipill?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
You should take Ipill if you periods are delayed. If they are usually late by 10-15 days, there is risk of pregnancy and ipill is the only protection. But you should have taken it within 16-24 hr. It's a bit late now but give it a try.

I tested negative for pregnancy test kit and a creamy white discharge is coming on my first missed day of my period, my lower abdomen is cramps and feeling hurt on sleeping on my stomach. Also feeling back pain sometime on right side and sometime left. Feeling feverish ,vomiting, heavy stomach in morning, uncomfortable to breath.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Pregnancy test will come positive only after 7th to 10th missed day. If the pain is fixed and more to one side lower down in abdomen, you will need to visit a Gyn. If you have been getting similar symptoms on the days prior to periods, then it may be coming in a day or two. If you think the pain is abnormal or more severe than before, visit a doctor right away.

My frnd is married since 3 years and she is getting her period one month delayed every time. N still she is not pregnant .she is not having disease like pcod t, thyroid .what could be the reason behind it?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Her husband should get semen checked first. If that is ok, she may then go for HSG test to know the condition of her tubes.

My egg developmentation is around 2.8×2.3 is there any possibility to get pregnant.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Good possibility is there for pregnancy provided the semen test is ok and your tubes are healthy. An injection may be prescribed to bring the ovulation.

How we get infected syphilis? How much time to cure and after how much time a woman can take baby?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Syphilis is transmitted by sexual contact with infected persons. Usually 3 weekly penicillin injections are sufficient to treat most infections, but time to cure is not specific. If the antibody titre starts falling then the cure may have successfully been started. It may be upto 6 months for early syphilis or upto 24 months for late syphilis. To take baby, it may be safer to wait for 24 months. Sexual partners also need to be treated.

I am 32 years married women and having one daughter. I had two continues miscarriages with brown blood spot in 12-13 the week of pregnancy. Planing to have next baby but fear of miscarriage disturb me a lot. What should I do to have safe pregnancy.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Take Folvit tablets 5 mg daily for both partners. Stay clean and keep your home and toilet hygienic. Diet should have fresh items only. Water should be filtered. Avoid vehicular exhaust. Avoid passive smoking. Semen test for you husband, control of diabetes for both, treatment of urine infection are all necessary before you conceive. Stop all other drugs or inform your doctor. There are a battery of tests to rule out subtle diseases and infections. Some of them are costly. Chromosomal assay for both parents is another option.

I am 6 week pregnant women I have query regarding thyroid when I test TSH on dated 13th sep the result will shows 3.98. As per my gynecologist it is normal but when I go for second opinion then 2nd gynecologist said it is slightly high and you have to take medicine. Now today (dt 18 sep) I again test my TSH and result is different from last result (Today result = 3.237).I am worried about my baby and confused what to do. Please help me out. # I had never suffer from any thyroid before pregnancy.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Pregnancy raises the thyroid demand in your body. Any TSH level more than 2.5 in the first 3 months shows early thyroid deficiency. You should take medicines to correct the thyroid deficiency, in order to avoid problems like miscarriage and also ensure adequate brain development of the baby. From 4th to 6th month if TSH if above 3 again it shows need for medication.

Mam, I have physical relegation with my boyfriend one day we did sex without condom but my boyfriend had not released sperm inside and I took an I pill .the period was coming regularly but I have some fear so tell me what I do? I can't feel to eat sour taste and I have no vomiting so tell me suggestion.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
If you had regular period after the intercourse and the ipill, it is unlikely that you are pregnant, so you need not fear. Taste and vomiting do not directly indicate the presence or absence of pregnancy.

I feel irritation and cut in my vagina after sex .lubricant not create in my vagina when I was in tension .what is the reason behind of the pain.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Small lacerations are possible during first few months of intercourse. They cause burning sensation for couple of days. But they also heal quickly without medication. You may use lubricated condoms if the natural secretions are not adequate.

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and lost all my symptoms. I'm worried about missed miscarriage. I already had one 5 years back. So I'm so worried. There is no scan till two weeks so please advice me.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
There is no need to relate the health of the pregnancy to severity of your symptoms on a day to day basis. These are subjective phenomena which differ from person to person and from one pregnancy to the next. The only worrisome problems in your case would be lower abdominal pain or bleeding or brownish vaginal discharge. In absence of these, you may wait for 2 weeks whilst taking prescribed medication.

If my gf date over on 30 july and we have sex on 4 aug is there any chance of pregnancy.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
You have to count from the first day. So her period may have started 5 days before, say 26 July. So on 9th day of cycle she had intercourse. There is a slight risk of pregnancy, particularly if her cycles are shorter the normal 28-30 days.

Hi! Every time I get my periods on 1st of the month. But now today is 1st I did not get my period yet. '3 days before of my period I and my boyfriend had unprotected sex, he did not released his sperm inside. So im little worried about this. Can anyone help me out of this?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
You may wait till 8th. If periods do not come, do urine pregnancy test. If negative, repeat it after another 7 days. If still negative, the chance of pregnancy is less and medicines can be taken to get the periods.

Hi! does it possible to get pregnant if we do unprotected sex 3 days before her periods?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Sometimes periods get delayed due to late egg formation. Period timing gets lengthened. Pregnancy can happen if there is such an unusual delay in ovulation. But if her last 6 cycles were regular then the chance of this happening is very less.

I had unprotected sex on 26th of august and took an ipill within 1 hour but I still haven't got any withdrawal bleeding. Could I be pregnant?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
It is not mandatory that withdrawal bleeding will come for everyone. It depends on your cycle. You may have taken it less than 7 days before expected periods. Only was to know if do pregnancy test if periods are delayed more than 7 days.

Hi team, my wife's 23 weeks pregnant. She is suffering from Typhoid. Antigen: 1:320 H. Could you please suggest any antibiotics injection for her? She is taking Taxim o 200 mg, becosules 10 d.However she is feeling pain in legs.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Taxim O is already an antibiotic. Injections if required will be decided by treating doctor and cannot be given off the shelf. Moreover it should be safe for use during pregnancy. She should consume extra fluids and electrolytes and high calorie diet. If fever does not subside within 2-3 days you must see the doctor.

My wife is 19 weeks pregnant I just want to know what type of exercise/yoga does she required for normal delivery? What precautions required at the time of exercise?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Walking is the best exercise. It should be brisk walk, as far as comfortable, not just a stroll. 20-30 mins a day, 3-4 times a week. That apart there are ample breathing, back and sitting exercises during pregnancy. In yoga, don't go for difficult pose which might lead to accidents. Avoid excessive back bending. Whatever you do should be gentle and comfortable without excessive straining or sweating. When in doubt consult your doctor.

I get pains in period but morning time when I awake then come period, why, causes in pain? Please advice me.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
If it is central abdomen pain just above the public bone, lasting few hours only on the first day, then it mat be quite normal. It is due to spasm of uterus muscle as it begins to expel. Use hot water bag, avoid spiced foods, non-veg, oily foods and if required an antispasmodic tablet can be useful. Any pain which is more than described above will need a visit to the doctor.

I am 20 years old And i married before one year I had an abortion 6 month before Now I would like to get pregnant So I want to know the right time , right food, and what to do before and after sex . How long we stay on the bed And how long we shouldn't wash .

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
For the sake of pregnancy, best period for intercourse is from 10th to 20th day of normal 30 days cycle. To set your body rhythm right it should have adequate sleep and timely meals. Your weight should be as close to the ideal for age and height, as possible. Males should avoid smoking, alcohol and tight pants. Logically the best position would be with man on top so sperm entry is aided by gravity. Take a 2 hour nap before you go for a wash.

My gf is 19 years old she is 2 weeks pregnant we can't consult to anyone we don't want pregnancy can anyone please help us.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
For her safety you have to go to a good gynecologist who will first confirm by ultrasound and could prescribe the medicines needed for termination. Other methods are quackery and prone to incomplete expulsion, infection, excessive bleeding and grave risks in future fertility.
