Alcohol - Does It Impact Your Breast Health?

Good breast health is very necessary for a woman to avoid the risks of getting breast diseases, most particularly breast cancer. But there are some common mistakes most women make without knowing that they contribute to the threats of breast diseases. Read on to know which common habits may be bad for your breast health and what lifestyle alterations you can make to avoid them.

1. Not taking requisite care of your breasts with increasing age

The chances of developing diseases like breast cancer increase with age, especially as you enter the 40s and 50s. Most women don't consider their chronological age with requisite seriousness and this can expose them to higher risks of breast diseases. As you hit 40, you should sincerely make it a habit to get regular clinical exams to maintain proper breast health.

2. Not considering an annual mammogram

An x-ray of the breasts is known as a mammogram which is usually performed to detect premature symptoms of breast cancer. Studies reveal that a large number of women do not consider getting an annual mammogram done even after the age of 40. Experts are of the opinion that this can be threatening to your breast health as a delay of even a few months can result in developed and undetected breast cancer symptoms. So, it is recommended that after entering your 40s get a mammogram done after every year.

3. Not keeping track of your weight

According to researchers, women who have bmi (body mass index) more than 25 are considered obese and have greater chances of developing breast diseases in comparison to women having a balanced weight. The risk rises due to increase in the formation of oestrogen caused by the greater number of fat cells. Increased level of oestrogen is responsible for the growth of 'hormone-receptor-positive' type of breast cancer. You should try to eat healthy and regularly monitor your weight to avoid obesity.

4. Avoiding exercise

Avoiding exercise can have adverse effects on your breast health. Studies prove that women who exercise for about 4 to 7 hours every week have lower chances of developing breast diseases. This is due to the fact that regular workout ensures limited blood levels of the hormone 'insulin growth factor' which significantly influences the growth and behaviour of breast cells. So, start exercising from today to stay fit and maintain proper breast health.

5. Drinking too much alcohol

Regular consumption of alcohol increases risks of breast cancer as it causes damage to the DNA in cells. Moreover, it raises levels of oestrogen and other hormones responsible for triggering 'hormone-receptor-positive' breast cancer. You can avoid this risk by keeping your alcohol consumption to moderate levels and reserved for special occasions.

6. Exposing yourself to too many chemicals in the form of cosmetics

Most women use too many cosmetic products containing certain chemicals that increase their chances of developing breast diseases. This happens because often these chemicals tend to disturb the hormonal balance of the body by mimicking or blocking certain hormones.

Behavior of a child should always be closely monitored during his/her early development. Sometimes signs of several personality disorders tend to show up early in life. Proper monitoring of the child's behavior helps to identify the signs and properly diagnose the condition if the child is suffering from any potential personality disorder

Here are a few facts you should keep in mind:

  1. You might often find it difficult to differentiate between the normal and abnormal behavior of your child. You might consult the pediatrician in this case to compare the child's general behavioral patterns with that of other children in the same age group.
  2. It is very important to understand your child's development process. It helps you to interpret his/her behavior and to identify signs of personality disorder.
  3. There are a few common behavior patterns, which tend to act as a guide to understanding the behavior of your child. Some of these patterns should be encouraged as they lead to proper behavioral development of your child while patterns of negative behavior should be discouraged. 
  4. You should also consult a doctor if your child shows negative behavior persistently even after disciplining measures.
  5. Being polite, doing chores on a regular basis, following instructions should be encouraged and rewarded as it helps in the proper personality development of your child.
  6. Behavioral patterns like an inclination towards defensive, regressive and aggressive behavior should not be encouraged but can be tolerated in certain situations like illness or in times of stress.
  7. Behavioral patterns like an increased inclination to violence or an excessive competitive attitude towards their siblings should never be allowed. 
  8. Prejudice or racism, stealing or inclination towards substance abuse, angry outbursts point towards problems in the child's mental, physical or social well-being. You are also advised to take your child to a psychological expert to find out whether he/she is suffering from any sort of behavioral disorder. 
  9. Your behavior also plays a major role in development of your child and his/her behavioral patterns. It is often seen that if a child is subjected to excessive physical, mental or emotional abuse or is engaged in too many curricular and extracurricular activities, he/she is likely to develop several behavioral disorders over time.

Proteins rich home made dishes and drinks every 3-4 hrs with minimal of fats and solid diet Plus full plate of mixed fruits salad at least twice daily Running daily for 30 to 40 minutes before breakfast all are helpful.

If you want to do jogging you can do before meals but after food you can do normal walk which should not be exertional which will definitely help you a lot. I prefer you go for walk rather than jogging before dinner.

Maintain total hygiene Jock itch can be a result of local fungus infection (dermatophytes). It is otherwise generally caused by moisture, irritation, and/or bacterial overgrowth. Hi lybrate-userthanks for using Lybrate as you discuss ed regarding your problem above that is acne and its link to lactose intolerance so firstly I cleared you that lactose intolerance found since birth but as such you said you are drinking milk from childhood so this problem is not related to milk consuming. For your acne problem I will suggest you, firsr you check which skin type you are i, e oily, dry, combination of both. According to your skin type choose any mild face wash, clean your fash with face wash twice daily. And oftenly with water so to avoid dust accumulation of face. Drink plenty of water. Add good amount of seasonal fruits in your diet. Avoid consuming fried, oily and junk foods. Lastly ruled out that you do not have any menstrual problems because it can be also a major cause for acne.

Hello- However a 70 year old man should take the dosage he needs to take depending on his condition. The recommended dosage for each person is determined by the attending physician. This will be 25 mg, 50 mg or 100 mg and a patient should not take more. Age may be a concern to some, but the most important factors to consider are health and fitness. This includes any heart worries. The pill should be taken with a glass of water about one or two hours prior to sex. For best results, consider eating food that may affect your sex life in a p++ositive manner or food that gives you the right kind of long term energy and health. This will help complement the effects of the Viagra. One thing for certain though, is not to combine it with smoking or drugs or alcohol or even grapefruits, which will not help the Viagra at all.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.

I was suffering from stomach pain and tightening in stomach from last 2 months. The treatment which I was taking did not give much relief. So Two three days back I went for endoscopy test, in which there is swelling in one portion. I was told that main reason for this is tension, which can be earlier tension also. But also this problem arise whenever I eat outside food. I also drink sometimes. It is now 2 months this pain is. I do not take much tension. So I want to consult how much time it takes to recover. And the reason why this problem is, and remedy for it.

The reason for gas and tightening of stomach is indigestion, decrease peristaltic movement means decrease movement of intestine which can be due to inflammation of internal mucosa which also came in endoscopy. This can be cured permanently with ayurveda and it may take 1 to 2 months to get cure completely. Reason for this problem can be earlier depression which leads to indigestion or several enzymes which get altered in depression. You can contact me on private for further discussion and treatment.

Your memory loss, tension and perhaps low confidence is all related to the stress that you are experiencing. First of all, the intensity of stress is in the perception. Change your perception, there is no stress: it’s like looking at a glass half full or half empty. Apart from that, all your emotions need to be dealt with by expression i.e. You need to talk about the feelings. Then you need to exercise regularly, eat fiber foods (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), sleep at least 8 hours every day, learn Yoga and meditation, learn stress management, and do a personality development course. Because you are into studies, follow a tight schedule, with good breaks and study habits. If group study helps you, do it with the right people. If tutoring is required, arrange for the same. These should see you through successfully without the stress.

Hello There. Most of all powder are enriched with protein which is essential for body building. The first thing to remember is that eating protein alone will not increase muscle. To build muscle you have to use it. The slight damage done to the muscle during weight lifting and other resistance activities and then healing is how the muscle grows larger, so if you are simply consuming protein powders in order to gain muscle but still sitting at home on the sofa, this isn’t going to happen. Muscle growth requires adequate supplies of protein, however, for the majority of people this is easily obtained from food sources and there is no need to supplement with powders. Instead of protein powder start protein rich food like milk, egg, soya etc. Let me know if you need more information.

You have not mentioned your age but if you are young, then there may be a need to meet with a counselor along with your parents to determine any contributing factors from childhood. I feel giddiness since one month First one to two days I felt stiffness and pain in my neck, I thought it may be cervical spondylosis but after that I never felt anything abnormal in neck portion I feel only giddiness in morning and evening time and in this situation whenever I got checked my BP it is 10 higher means 130/80 or 120/90 Please suggest me possible treatment.

Giddiness or dizziness is only symptoms .ther are may reasons .it can be associated to cervical spondylosis and also can be of BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, bppv lasts abt 40 t0 60 second .if it goes more than 60 sec than it other kind of vertigo. Proper examination is key to success. Schedule a consultation to neuro or Ent specialist. If they find it BPPV epleys maneuver will works for this.

Hello lybrate-user For fat loss you need to reduce your calorie intake, Putting yourself 500 calories deficit every day should result in loss of 1 pound every week. You need to eat high protein well balanced meals .1 hours of gym workout and cardio useful to archive your goals. Avoid fried, processed/ salty snacks, foods. Avoid packed juices and simple carbs. Consume clean foods. Eat small portion of meals after every hours. You will see results.
