He's having anal fissure since past many months. Taking laxative. But no relief. Anus passage became narrow .pl help. Feeling discomfort becoz of it. Allergic rhinitis has become chronic pl help.

MD - Medicine, DM - Gastroenterology
Gastroenterologist, Delhi
Anal fissure generally respond well to treatment like laxatives, sitting in warm water, local ointment to relax the anal sphincters. If anal fissure persists then surgery is needed. However before surgery your doctor needs to see type of anal fissure as multiple fissure are associated with other diseases which are to be excluded.

Hello doctor, I am using mirtazapine from past 1 year for IBS-C. Now my course is about to stop as I am feeling good. Now I am using mirtazapine 7.5 (60 mg- 45 mg-30 mg-15 mg-7.5 mg) from last month. In 15 days I have to stop the medicine. But now I am getting constipation and severe headaches with gastric disturbances. My question is" Is it medicine withdrawn side effects or do I need to increase my dose again? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hello doctor,
I am using mirtazapine from past 1 year for IBS-C. Now my course is about to stop as I am feeling good....
Hi. In my opinion mirtazapine is an antidepressant. It may or may not help in IBS. I never prescribe it for IBS. Your symptoms as you told may be related to drug withdrawal. Regarding stopping the drug you should consult the doctor who advised it. For IBS I can help you with few medications and lifestyle changes. Avoid unnecessary stress and anxiety. Sleep properly, drink adequate water. Avoid spicy oily and outside food. No smoking/alcohol/tobacco etc. Eat more of green vegetables and fruits. Avoid heavy dinner. For medications you can consult me online. Thanks.

HI Gas normally enters your digestive tract when you swallow air and when bacteria in your large intestine break down certain undigested foods. Everyone swallows a small amount of air when eating and drinking. You swallow more air when you, chew gum, drink carbonated, or fizzy, drinks, eat or drink too fast, smoke, suck on hard candy, wear loose-fitting dentures. Some conditions can cause you to have more gas than usual or have more symptoms when you have gas. These conditions include the following: Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) steps to swallow less air. For example, eat more slowly, avoid gum and hard candies, and don’t use a straw. If you smoke, quit smoking. You may try avoiding or limiting, carbonated, or fizzy, drinks, fried and high-fat foods, high-fiber foods for a few weeks and then slowly increasing your daily fiber intake. I would add using a sitz bath with plain hot water 3 to 4 times a day. If you are not cured by 3 weeks and you continue to bleed go in for surgery as it is veryveffecive.

Hi sir, I am suffering with excess belching from last week what is treatment for this.

MBBS, MD - General Medicine, DM - Gastroenterology
Gastroenterologist,
Hi sir, I am suffering with excess belching from last week what is treatment for this.
Belching or burping is a normal phenomenon . If it is excess we have to suspect about underlying digestive problems like gastritis, ulcer disease , dyspepsia, rarely gall stone diseases. Mostly belching is due to excess swallowing of air. Avoid carbonated drinks which contain co2 , don't go for long conversations while you eat, chewing gums , stress, panic episodes. If you have any associated acidity problems or indigestion along with burps you need treatment to control this. Hope this information will help you. For medications you can consult me private so that I can help you. Thank
