Here are some healthy breakfast options that can be taken below:


1] oats/ragi idli: rich in fiber oats idli is a best and healthy breakfast recipe, which is very appetizing and easy to make breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • Oats: 1 cup
  • Semolina: ½ cup
  • Curd: ½ cup
  • Mixed veggies (any): ½ cup, chopped
  • Water: ½ cup
  • Salt: to taste
  • Eno: ½ tsp
  • Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies: 2, chopped
  • Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp, chopped
  • Ginger: 1 tsp, chopped
  • Olive oil
  • Mustard: 3/4 tsp
  • Urad dal: 1 tsp
  • Channa dal: 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves: 1 spring

Method:

  • Roast oats for 3 minutes in medium flame then blend it in a blender.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard, urad dal, channa dal, curry leaves, ginger, green chillies, coriander and mixed veggies and cook.
  • Add semolina and stir fry for a minute on medium flame.
  • Transfer to mixing a bowl and add salt, curd, lemon juice, eno and water as required and make a batter (neither too thin nor too thick) and mix well.
  • Pour the batter in a greased microwave idly plate/idli stand and cook for 2 minutes on high.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney.


2] besan-oats cheela: a quick, healthy and delicious besan-oats cheela for breakfast under 20 minutes. This oats cheela can be served along with a green chutney.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 3/4 cup water (batter should be free flowing)
  • 1 tsp cumin powder (jeera),
  • 1 tsp fresh coriander chopped,
  • 1 tsp green chillies chopped,
  • 1 chopped onion & tomato (optional)
  • 1 tsp baking soda (optional)
  • Oil to cook
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl except water.
  • Add water slowly till the batter smoothens.
  • The batter consistency should be same as dosa batter.
  • Take a non-stick pan and add 1/2 cup mixture and spread evenly.
  • Keep it on medium heat and cover it with a lid. Once it is half cooked add 1 tsp oil in the pan.
  • Cook it from both sides and serve hot.


3] paneer-moong dal cheela: a quick, healthy and delicious paneer-moong dal cheela for breakfast under 20 minutes. This paneer-moong dal cheela can be served along with a green chutney.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cup moong dal (split green gram)
  • 1/2 cup low-fat paneer
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1 tsp asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tsp green chillies -finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger (adrak)-finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp coriander (dhania)-chopped
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Soak the dal in water overnight.
  • In the morning remove the chilka and churn it in the mixer.
  • Add jeera, green chillies, ginger, coriander, red chili powder and salt.
  • Cook it over a fry pan at low flame after pouring it in cheela form at high flame.
  • Chopped green chillies, coriander stuffing can be used before serving.
  • Tip: make cheela on non-stick pan to avoid oil usage and you can stuff cheela with saute vegetables of your choice.

4] buckwheat sprouts cheela:

 Buckwheat or kuttu is one of most popular gluten free flour consumed during these days. Also it is a easy and simple to prepare in the morning.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup buckwheat (kutto)
  • 1/2 cup steamed sprouts
  • 1/4 cup plain oatsSteam the sprouts, red cabbage and bell pepper.
    Mix the above with the rest of the ingredients.
    Add all the salts as per the taste.
  • 1/4 cup low-fat curds (dahi)
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot and red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onions and red tomato
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
  • Black salt to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for cooking

Method:

  • Combine the buckwheat, steamed sprouts, curds and water in a deep bowl and mix well. Blend the mixture into a smooth paste.
  • Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and water and mix well.
  • Heat the oil in a non-stick tava (griddle) and pour a ladleful of the batter and spread it evenly and cook on a medium flame using olive oil till both the sides are golden brown in color.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves, grated beetroots.
  • Serve immediately with chutney.

5] sprouts-paneer dhokla: enjoy sprouts-paneer dhokla along with dhaniya/pudina chutney for breakfast or serve as a tea time snack.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup - wheat rava
  • 1/2 cup - oats, powdered
  • 1/2 cup - moong sprouts puree
  • 1/2 cup - mashed low-fat paneer
  • 1.5 cup - yogurt
  • 3/4 tsp - bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp - fresh grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp - moong sprouts
  • 2 - coriander stalks, finely choppedSteam the sprouts, red cabbage and bell pepper.
    Mix the above with the rest of the ingredients.
    Add all the salts as per the taste.
  • 1/2 tbsp - oil

Methods:-

  • Mix the wheat rava, salt, and bicarbonate of soda in a large bowl.
  • Add the moong sprouts puree and 1/2 cup of yogurt mix it well.
  • Then add the remaining 1 cup of yogurt and mix it well.
  • Pour it in a greased pan. Steam it for 10 minutes.
  • To check whether it's cooked insert a skewer and if it comes out clean then it's cooked.
  • For seasoning heat the oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds. When it starts spluttering, add the moong sprouts and grated coconut stir it for 2 minutes. Pour it on top of the dhokla.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • To make moong sprouts puree: take 1 cup of moong sprouts and blend it by adding little water.


6] tomato upma: it is one of the most easily cooked and the feasible meal to have when a person is in hurry or do lack with the timings. Tomato upma can be treated as a breakfast or as a evening snacks. Cook the upma with the added healthy vegetables to make it one of the most nutritious meal of the day.
Ingredients:

  • Bombay rawa – 1 cup
  • Tomato – 2 nos
  • Onion – 1
  • Green chillies – 2
  • Fresh ginger – a small piece
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon or as per taste
  • Turmeric powder – a pinch
  • Oil – 2 to 3 tablespoons
  • Mustard – ½ teaspoon
  • Bengal gram dhal – 1 teaspoon
  • Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Cashew nuts – few (optional)
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon or as per taste

Method:

  • Chop onion, ginger and tomatoes finely. Slit green chillies lengthwise.
  • In a frying pan (kadai), put a tablespoon of oil and fry the rawa till it changes its color. Remove it and keep it.
  • In the same frying pan, put the remaining oil and when it is hot, add the mustard. When it pops up, add cashew nuts and dhals and fry till it turns light brown.
  • Add chopped onion, chillies, ginger and curry leaves. Fry till onions are transparent. Then add tomato pieces and fry till it mashes well.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well. Add three cups of water and bring to boil. When it starts boiling, slowly add the fried rawa and stir continuously till it absorbs all the water and form like a ball.
  • Serve with coconut chutney or sambar.

7] dal thepla: thepla is a gujarati cuisine breakfast roti / paratha or indian bread.

Ingredients:-

  • Left over dal cooked ½ cup
  • Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) chopped ½ small bunch
  • Whole wheat flour (atta) ½ cup
  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  • Oil 1 tablespoon + for basting

Method:-

  • Pour dal into a bowl. Add fenugreek leaves, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and chilli powder and mix well.
  • Add flour and knead into stiff dough. Add 1 tablespoon oil and knead again. Cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions. Take each portion, roll in flour and roll out to a thin disc. These are theplas.
  • Heat a non-stick tawa. Place each thepla and cook, turning sides and basting with oil, on medium heat till golden on both sides.
  • Serve.

8] oats-matar dosa: this dosa batter is packed with protein and fiber. Oats is a healthiest recommended millet consumed daily for its high content of soluble fiber beta-glucan, a potent blood sugar and cholesterol-lowering agent.


Ingredients: for the dosa batter-

  • 1 cup plain oats
  • 1/4 cup urad dal (split black lentils)
  • Black salt to taste
  •  For the stuffing
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 slit green chilli
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup grated beetroot
  • 1/4 cup parboiled green peas
  • Black salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

 
 Other ingredients:
 2 tsp oil for greasing and cooking


Methods:

For dosa batter-

  • Combine the oats, urad dal and salt in a bowl and blend into a fine paste.
  • Add 1 cups of water and mix well to make a batter of pouring consistency.

For the stuffing-

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds and green chillies.
  • When the seeds crackle, add the onions and sautee for 2 to 3 minutes, till the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the carrots and green peas, mix well and sautee for another 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the salt, chaat masala and chilli powder, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 more minutes.
  • Add the lemon juice, mix well and cook for another minute.

How to proceed-

  • Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it with less oil.
  • Pour a spoonful of the batter on the tava (griddle) and move the spoon in a circular motion to make it round.
  • Place a portion of the stuffing in the center of the dosa and fold over.
  • Smear ¼ tsp of oil around the edges and cook on a medium flame till the dosa turns light brown in color.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated beetroot.

9] egg dosa/uttapam: protein rich egg dosa which is very good for breakfast. It is easy to make, rich in protein and makes a filling and delicious breakfast.

Ingredients:-

  • 50 gm soaked green gram
  • 1 egg white
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2-3 no curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp oil

Method:

  • Blend soaked green gram dal with water and then mix egg white into it and mix it well.
  • Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds. When the seeds crackle, add curry leaves, garlic, salt
  • Add this in to the bowl and mix well.
  • Prepare dosa/uttapam in non stick pan.

10] berry yogurt smoothie with chia seeds: 
This smoothie is the mix of super-foods and rich in antioxidant and a healthy refreshment in the morning.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 pc strawberries
  • 1/2 chopped apple
  • 1/2 chopped pear
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 150g low-fat natural yogurt or soy yogurt
  • 100ml of semi-skimmed milk or dairy-free milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (or to taste)

Method:

Add milk, yogurt, strawberries, chia seeds, apple, pear, water and ice in a blender and blend until smooth.

11] quinoa- chia porridge: make your own hot cereal mix with this healthy recipe. The easiest and healthiest breakfast which is now a regular meal in everyone’s house.

Ingredients:

  • Quinoa: 30 gm
  • Low-fat milk: 250 ml
  • Fruit (banana/apple/berries/pear): 1 chopped
  • Nuts: handful
  • Chia seeds: handful
  • Cinnamon: 1 tsp

Methods:

  • Boil quinoa in milk for few minutes.
  • Pour in a bowl. Add all the remaining ingredients.

12] egg white sandwich with hummus: a high-protein breakfast with a healthy spread is one of the easy and regular breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • Brown bread/multi-grain bread: 2 pc
  • Hummus: 1 tbsp
  • Egg white: 2 no
  • Cucumber: few slices
  • Tomatoes: few slices
  • Onion: few slices
  • Lettuce: 1 -2 leaves
  • Black pepper: 1 pinch

Methods:

  • Grill the bread.
  • Prepare the egg whites either boiled or omelette form.

Everything You Need To Know About Depressive Disorder!

Rekha is 32 years old, she has a succesful career, a lovable husband and two wonderful kids. She has a few helpful friends and a supportive family. She also got promoted at work 6 months ago. Yet for the past few months she has been finding it a little difficult to fall asleep at night, she dreads daybreak and wished she could sleep for a bit more time. She fights through the tiredness as everything she once enjoyed seems grey and non rewarding. She stopped following her favorite tv show and hasn’t been talking to her friends as much. She has been unable to focus on work and it takes her longer than usual to complete her tasks. The food she once loved seems drab and unappealing. There is no more color to festivals and functions, and smiling becomes an effort. She worried about the future and feels helpless as her life spirals down a eternal dark staircase.

Rekhas husband has noticed this and is supportive as he can be, telling her that she needs to snap out of whatever that she is going through. Not that she wouldnt want to snap out of it. People around her have been trying to cheer her up, suggesting everything that they feel would make her feel better! But no, the shadow of depression follows her around and makes her feel that her life is not worth living anymore.

What are the numbers ?

Depression is difficult, depression is dark and depression is dangerous. Studies have reported numbers ranging from 1 in 10 to 1 in 30. An article in the Indian express on feb 15,2016 was titled “with 36% of India depressed, we must end the taboo around mental health”

Depression was reported to be higher in females, in the age-group of 40-49 years and among those residing in urban metros. Equally high rates were reported among the elderly.Depression and suicides are closely linked, with upto 15% of depressed individuals attempting suicide. With around a lakh and 30000 people ending their lives by suicide every year, and atleast 10 times as much attempting suicide, this 15 percent starts looking like a very large number.

What causes depression

Contrary to popular belief, depression does not necessarily stem from a weakness in one's "mind" or from ones poor ability to cope with the stressors of life. This Depression like every other illness stems from complex interactions between biological, psychological and social factors. Like one cannot "think away" a fever, it is impossible to "think away" depression.

Genetic studies have demonstrated a concordance rate for mood disorders in identical twins of 70 to 90 percent. Implying a strong role of inherited factors in depressive illness. Alterations in hormonal regulation and sleep architecture can also lead to depression.

At the base of the illness there are abnormalities at the synaptic level in the neuronal networks in the pre-frontal cortex (a region in the brain). The pre-frontal cortex holds and processes information in regard to ones personality, memory, decision making, motivation and complex cognitive tasks. These processes are encoded in the form of synapses or interneuronal connections. The neurons communicate via electrochemical processes called neurotransmission. Current knowledge implicates a imbalance in serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline (neurotransmitters) and or an abnormal number of their receptors in the synapses in causing depression. Most anti depressants increase serotonin concentrations at the synaptic level so as to improve mood and cognition.

Low levels of serotonin have also been observed in those who attempt suicide.

 

What are the symptoms of depression? How is it diagnosed ?

Symptoms of depression include persistent low mood, easy fatiguability and a lack of interest in things that were previously pleasurable. Physical symptoms such as changes in sleep patterns, changes in appetite and weight and decreased interest in sex may also occur. Further a loss of self confidence, undue feelings of guilt, emotional lability and thoughts about self harm are also common.
The safest thing to do, if one is experiencing such symtoms is to seek professional help.

The Psychiatrist or Psychologist will be able to make a diagnosis based of Criteria set forth by the world health organization. They may suggest laboratory investigations to rule out physical illnesses such as anemia and thyroid dysfunction that mimic depression and will offer appropriate treatment measures.

Pros And Cons Of Ketogenic Diet!

Talking about the pros first:

1) Ketogenic diet known to control seizures:

From biblical times, it was known that fasting controls seizures. In a study conducted, it was found that 54% of the patients had complete control over seizures and 26% showed a marked decrease in seizures while on a ketogenic diet. 

2) Ketosis helps in weight loss:

In one study of over 400 individuals over a period of a year, it was found that low-carbs diet was as effective as low-fat diets in weight loss. In the short term of six months, the individuals on a low carb diet had even lost on a average of 3.3 kgs greater than those on a low fat diet.

Thus, the low carb diet seems to be a good option for weight loss in the short term.

 3) For the diabetes and prediabetes treatment:

As discussed before, the ketogenic diet reduces the blood sugar and thus it is an effective option in treatment and control of diabetes.
From one study on type 2 diabetes patients, after following a low-carbs diet, it was found that the insulin sensitivity improved by about 75%.

In another study the patients even reduced or discontinued their diabetes medication. They found that their glucose came under control after following the low carb ketogenic diet.

 4) The ketogenic diet protects the brain:

Most of our brain can use ketones as fuel in times of starvation or low carb diet. This can take place as early as after 3 days of a starvation state. 

Also, as discussed before, some children can have a condition where the glucose receptors in the brain are disrupted. Thus, getting energy from glucose might become an issue. Here they might go into seizures. Ketogenic diets bypass this mechanism and prevent this condition.

In another study, thirteen patients with congestive heart failure (chf) and cardiac patients without chf took part in a study. It was found that in a ketosis-prone state severe chf occurs.

 2) Deficiency in macronutrients:
Now, ketosis can cause macronutrients deficiency if not monitored properly. 

 3) Various side effects:

When used in the treatment of children with epilepsy, it was found that the side effects include “dehydration, kidney stones and constipation”.
Other side effects that might be apparent with the ketogenic diet are too much water intake, dizziness, nausea, headaches, etc.

Eat surplus calories and do exercise regularly .u need high protein well balanced diet with 5 to 6 small meals a day to gain muscle mass.

Hi doctor my mother is diabetic from last 18 years, she is 58 year old now. She is taking insulin consulted by doctors 24 /16. And taking Medicine glimmer 3 mg and gluconorm 500 mg. She is facing pain in her right leg from last few month. Doctor saying there is some problem from disc to vain in leg. Any medicine you can advice for reducing the leg pain. A Medicine doctor consult a year before named as neurosis capsule. But now it's not available in chemist shop. Please consult any alternate medicine. Or some thing good for her.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query In a patient with long standing diabetes one of the common long term complication is peripheral neuropathy. This develops even when the blood glucose control is reasonably good. In case of badly controlled diabetes the problem becomes more severe. Since there is no mention of her blood glucose levels and HbA1c%, it is difficult to know if the condition is well controlled at all. There are some drugs used to treat neuropathic pain like pragabalin, gabapentine and some vitamin combinations. I did not understand what you mean by" Doctor sayi ng there is some problem from disc to vain in leg" Because whether the problem is due to neuropathy or blood supply affection leading to pain. This needs to be clarified. Has there been ultra sound or Doppler study done to see if the blood supply to the lower limbs is proper? Thanks.

I am suffering from high acidity, it starts slowly after breakfast and become very high in evening. But when I take one tab Aciloc 150 mg in the morning before breakfast and one metronidazole in night after dinner, then there will be no problem. The fallopian tubes are a part of a woman’s reproductive system. This is the passage through which the egg travels to meet the sperm and attach the end result to the lining of the womb or the uterine lining. In many cases, the fallopian tubes may get blocked, which can cause a series of complications, including infertility and other issues.

Fallopian tubes: These are two thin tubes that flank either side of the uterus. It helps the matured egg from travelling from the ovaries to the uterus. 

Blockage of fallopian tubes: Sexually transmitted diseases or STDs, as well as endometriosis, can cause a blockage in the fallopian tubes. The tubes can get blocked from one or both sides.

Complications: Blocked fallopian tubes can lead to major complications like early pregnancy loss as well as infertility. Every month, the ovaries release eggs during a cycle known as the ovulation cycle. During this period, the eggs leave the ovaries and travel through the fallopian tubes in order to reach the uterus, where they can possibly get inseminated with sperm, after which they will get fertilised and attach themselves to the uterine lining or the womb. Symptoms: So how can you find out whether your fallopian tubes are blocked? There are a number of symptoms that may be caused in the course of this condition. It is important to be even more careful about the symptoms because they may not be as obvious as other conditions, where irregular periods and heavy bleeding may point to the problem at the very onset. Pain in the lower abdomen and unusual discharge usually point to the problem. Also, loss of pregnancy due to the blockage is also a clear cut diagnosis.

Diagnosis: The diagnosis of the condition is done with the help numerous tests and imaging examinations conducted by a gynaecologist. A specialised X-ray called hysterosalpingogram or HSG is used in order to diagnose the issue. In this kind of examination, a dye is inserted through the uterus. This dye has a lens at the end, which shows the blockage and its extent. The skin has the largest surface area and is most exposed to the external environment. This exposure causes a lot of wear and tear, and one of the worse complications including melanoma, which is a form of skin cancer. Read on to know about its causes, caution signs to stay alerted and how to take care of the skin.

Causes
The skin has cells known as melanocytes which give it the color. Generally, the more the number of melanocytes, the darker is the person’s complexion. This pigment is also present in skin, hair, nails, and eyes. The moles are skins are areas of higher concentration of these cells. Africans moles can be a precursor to melanoma, but not all moles turn to melanoma.

  1. Exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun. Fair-skinned people are at greater risk than darker complexioned people. A single sunburn experience can also increase the risk of developing melanoma
  2. Use of tanning beds, especially in people below 30, ups the risk of melanoma. Indoor tanning beds is classified as having the highest record by WHO
  3. Family history
  4. Ethnicity, with Hispanics at the greatest risk and African-Americans at the least risk

Caution

  1. For those who have risk factors for developing melanoma, a monthly self-exam is advisable. A formal annual exam with a dermatologist is also advised. This will help in early identification of the condition and lead to early treatment and containment.
  2. Melanoma is not restricted to the skin, can also occur in feet, eyes, and scalp
  3. Use a mirror to check all over the body
  4. If you have moles, watch for change in their size, shape, and regularity. Any change should be immediately checked for.
  5. If you see any new irregularities on the skin anywhere, get medical attention.
  6. Any sore that has not healed
  7. Any swelling that is near the mole or has not regressed
  8. Change in sensation including itching or pain
  9. A quick way to remember is to check for ABCDE: Asymmetry of the lesion, irregularity of the borders, change in color, diameter greater than six mm, and speed of evolution. Watching for these can help in early diagnosis.

Care
Melanoma is directly linked to sun exposure, and so reducing sun exposure and taking adequate precautions can help in prevention.

  1. Avoid or reduce exposure to sun
  2. Use sunscreen religiously. The SPF should be at least 30 and should be reapplied every two hours
  3. Use a hat or cap, sunglasses, and cover up when out in the sun
  4. Be extra careful when out on the beach or in the mountains
  5. Avoid sun if possible between 10AM to 4PM
  6. Use tan removal agents after a sun exposure

The prostate gland is a male reproductive organ at the base of the urinary bladder and urethra is a thin tube that carries urine out of the penis. It runs through the prostate gland. A fluid produced by this gland helps to carry sperms produced by the testes outside during intercourse.

Cause of urinary problems in men

Men experience urinary symptoms either due to inflammation of the prostate gland or prostatitis or symptoms may be the result of a blockage of the passage due to enlargement of the prostate gland.

Symptoms of urinary problems

Urinary symptoms commonly experienced with prostate problems include;

1. The need to urinate frequently during the night.

2. Urinating more often during the day.

3. Urinary urgency is the urge to urinate can be so strong and sudden that one may not reach the toilet in time.

4. The urine stream is slow to start.

5. Urine dribbling for some time after finishing urination.

6. A sensation that the bladder is not fully emptied after urination.

भारत में डायबिटीज के मरीजों की संख्या हर रोज बढ़ रही हैं। लगभग हर 5 भारतियों में से 2 भारतीय को डायबिटीज की समस्या हैं। देखा जाए तो डायबिटीज खुद कोई भयानक बीमारी नही है बल्कि यह आपने बाद धीरे धीरे विभिन्न बीमारियों को न्योता देकर शरीर के अलग अलग अंगों नुकसान पहुंचाती है। जैसे हम आसानी से देख सकते हैं कि शुगर के रोगी को आंखों व किडनी के रोग, सुन्नपन आना जैसी समस्याएं हो सकती हैं।

डायबिटीज को कण्ट्रोल करने के लिए जितना महत्त्व दवा और व्यायाम का है उतना ही महत्व आहार या डाइट का हैं। माना जाता है कि डायबिटीज के मरीज नॉर्मल रुटीन लाइफ नहीं जी सकते इसलिए उन्हें एकदम स्ट्रिक्ट डाइट लेना चाहिए।  
इन्सुलिन हार्मोन के स्राव में कमी से डायबिटीज रोग होता है। डायबिटीज आनुवांशिक या उम्र बढ़ने पर या मोटाप, स्ट्रेस जैसी कई वजह हो सकती है। डायबिटीज ऐसा रोग है जिसमें व्यक्ति को काफी परहेज से रहना होता है। मधमेह रोगी अगर अपनी दिनचर्या का पालन नहीं करते हैं तो इसके बढ़ने की संभावना ज्यादा होती है। इसलिए डाइट चार्ट फॉलो करने जरूरी हो जाता है। 

डाइट चार्ट
शुगर एक बार होने के बाद जीवनभर रहता है। इसे कंट्रोल करने के लिए नियमित दिनचर्या और पोषण युक्त आहार की जरूरत होती है। शुगर होने का कारण असंयमित खानपान, मानसिक तनाव, मोटापा, व्यायाम की कमी आदि है। जिसके कारण दिन-प्रतिदिन इसके मरीजों की संख्या बढ़ रही है। ब्लड शुगर के मरीजों के लिए सबसे ज्यादा जरूरी है संतुलित और नियमित भोजन। योग्य डाइट चार्ट अपनाकर डायबिटीज के मरीज न सिर्फ अपनी शुगर नियंत्रण में रख सकते है बल्कि उनकी दवा और इन्सुलिन का डोज़ भी कम हो सकता हैं।
डायबिटिक को अपने आहार में कुल कैलोरी का 40 प्रतिशत कार्बोहाइड्रेटयुक्त पदार्थों से, 40 प्रतिशत वसायुक्त पदार्थों से व 20 प्रतिशत प्रोटीनयुक्त पदार्थों से लेना चाहिए। यदि शुगर मरीज का वजन ज्यादा है तो उसे कुल कैलोरी का 60 प्रतिशत कार्बोहाइड्रेट से, 20 प्रतिशत फैट से व 20 प्रतिशत प्रोटीन से लेना चाहिए।

आइए हम जानते हैं डायबिटीज के रोगी आइडियल डाइट चार्ट किस प्रकार होनी चाहिए और साथ ही कुछ खास हिदायतें किसी पर्टिकुलर स्थिति पर डायबिटीज को कंट्रोल करने के निर्देश।

  • सुबह 6 बजे - एक ग्लास पानी में आधा चम्मच मेथी पावडर डालकर पीजिए।
  • सुबह 7 बजे - एक कप शुगर फ्री चाय, साथ में 1-2  हलके शक्कर वाली बिस्कुट ले सकते हैं।
  • नाश्ता / ब्रेकफास्ट - साथ आधी कटोरी अंकुरित अनाज और एक गिलास बिना क्रीम वाला दूध।
  • सुबह 10 बजे के बाद - एक छोटा फल या फिर नींबू पानी।
  • दोपहर 1 बजे यानी लंच - मिक्स आटे की 2 रोटी, एक कटोरी चावल, एक कटोरी दाल, एक कटोरी दही, आधी कटोरी सोया या पनीर की सब्जी, आधी कटोरी हरी सब्जी और साथ में एक प्लेट सलाद।
  • शाम 4 बजे - बिना शक्कर या शुगर फ्री के साथ एक कप चाय और बिना चीनी वाला बिस्किट
  • या टोस्ट या 1 सेब।
  • शाम 6 बजे - एक कप सूप पिएँ
  • डिनर - दो रोटियां, एक कटोरी चावल (ब्राउन राइस हफ्ते में 2 बार) और एक कटोरी दाल, आधी कटोरी हरी सब्जी और एक प्लेट सलाद।
  • बिना क्रीम और चीनी के एक गिलास दूध पिएँ। ऐसा करने से अचानक रात में शुगर कम होने का खतरा नहीं होता। 
  • एक खास हिदायत मधुमेह के मरीजों को उपवास करने से बचना चाहिए। इसके अलावा भोजन के बीच लंबा गैप भी नही करना चाहिए और रात के डिनर में हल्का भोजन करना चाहिए। इसके अलावा नियमित रूप से योगा और व्यायाम करने से भी ब्लड शुगर नियंत्रित रहता है। 
  • रोजाना इस डाइट चार्ट को फॉलो करने के साथ ही बताई गई कुछ एक चीजें और इस्तेमाल करें।
  • दरारा पिसा हुआ मैथीदाना एक या आधा चम्मच खाना खाने के 15-20 मिनट पहले लेने से शुगर कंट्रोल में रहती है और इससे और भी कई अंगों को फायदा होता है।
  •  रोटी के आटे को बिना चोकर निकाले यूज़ में लाएं हर चाहें तो इसकी गुणवत्ता बढ़ाने के लिए इसमें सोयाबीन मिला लें।
  • घी और तेल का दिनभर में कम से कम इस्तेमाल करें। 
  • सभी सब्जियों को कम से कम तेल का प्रयोग करके नॉनस्टिक कुकवेयर में पकाएं। हरी पत्तेदार सब्जियां ज्यादा से ज्यादा खाएं।
  • शुगर रोगी को खाने से लगभग 1 घंटा पहले अच्छी स्पीड पैदल चलना चाहिए और साथ ही व्यायाम और योगा भी करें। सही समय पर इंसुलिन व दवाइयां लेते रहें। नियमित रूप से चिकित्सक के पास जांच कराएं।
  • इसके साथ शुगर के मरीज को प्रोटीन अच्छी मात्रा में व उच्च गुणवत्ता वाला लेना चाहिए। इसके लिए दूध, दही, पनीर, अंडा, मछली, सोयाबीन आदि का सेवन ज्यादा करना चाहिए। इंसुलिन ले रहे डायबिटिक व्यक्ति एवं गोलियां ले रहे डायबिटिक व्यक्ति को खाना सही समय पर लेना चाहिए। ऐसा न करने पर हायपोग्लाइसीमिया हो सकता है। इसके कारण कमजोरी, अत्यधिक भूख लगना, पसीना आना, नजर से धुंधला या डबल दिखना, हृदयगति तेज होना, झटके आना एवं गंभीर स्थिति होने पर कोमा में जाने जैसी विपत्ति का भी सामना करना पड़ सकता है। 
  • डायबिटिक व्यक्ति को हमेशा अपने साथ कोई मीठी चीज जैसे ग्लूकोज, शक्कर, चॉकलेट, मीठे बिस्किट रखना चाहिए। यदि हायपोग्लाइसीमिया के लक्षण दिखें तो तुरंत इनका सेवन करना चाहिए। एक सामान्य डायबिटिक व्यक्ति को ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि वे थोड़ी-थोड़ी देर में कुछ खाते रहें। दो या ढाई घंटे में कुछ खाएं। एक समय पर बहुत सारा खाना न खाएं।
  • डायबिटीज के मरीज हमेशा डबल टोन्ड दूध का प्रयोग करें। कम कैलोरीयुक्त खाद्य पदार्थों का सेवन करें जैसे - छिलके वाला भुना चना, परमल, अंकुरित अनाज, सूप, सलाद आदि का ज्यादा सेवन करें। दही और छाछ का सेवन करने से ग्लूकोज का स्तर कम होता है और डायबिटीज नियंत्रण में रहता है।

Hi sir/mam Recently I had an accident and 50% of my toenail got peeled off. I did not peeled it off fully and did the dressing. Now its been a week and I can walk, there is as such no pain and also I tried to cut the nail as much as I can through nail cutter Now I have a query, is it important to peel that nail fully?
